I took my dad in for a procedure on Thursday. I want to say that the experience from the receptionist Lucy and the nursing staff was extremely friendly. I had the best experience at The Mid Valley Surgery Center! Everything was on time. The staff was SO nice, funny and professional. I even forgot to be nervous about the surgery. There is very easy parking and there is a lot to do in the area if your driver needs to entertain themselves for awhile. Everything was so clean. Some attention needs to be brought to the poor management here. This lobby is FULL.. there are people here that have been here for hours waiting to be seen, haven't eaten or had anything to drink all day. They tell you to come in over an hour prior to your appt but the wait is hours long. I watched the "manager" come out and have a one on one conversation with a patient that was waiting but not acknowledge anyone else. Just a bit of advice, communication goes a long way and is key to being a good manager/leader. Communicate with ALL of your patients, be transparent so that we aren't all sitting waiting for our names to be called. Also, I was scheduled for the end of the month and got rescheduled to come in earlier because the Dr had openings, this schedule doesn't seem very open to me.. it actually seems they are double, triple booked. This is not an urgent care, this is a surgery center and should have a better system than this. This place is terrible. I went to the back, pretty chaotic. They failed to tell me I could do local anesthetic and that I didn't have to fast or have a driver! That would have been great to know! The back staff was cool, the male MA and people in with the dr were kind.. but two ladies stated, "the last time you were here"... I have never been there so I am wondering if they even had the right person. They really need someone with good leadership to hop in and handle things. read more

I had my fourth set of pain injections in my back today. Wow do these injections work and make my day as a cashier on my feet much easier. I am very impressed with the clinic and have always had pleasant visits. I really enjoy the back office RN's , Dr. Sarwaris & Dr. Lee who all participate in my treatment. The staff is attentive, compassionate and have excellent communication with the patients. From the prep, O.R. & recovery, once it gets started is thorough and flows. RN Sarah, you were very kind, gentle and explanatory today. Thank you. I was also impressed by the sanitation and Covid awareness procedure policies that were in place. The only downside is the wait time can be excessive. It can be so busy if they are backed up or the Dr. is late that your ride/driver can become frustrated...and you really count on them. Working on more punctual appointment times I believe, would behoove everyone. read more

I really like my doctor but I have been sitting in the waiting room for 1,5 hours, no WiFi, nothing. I have extremely bad dry mouth condition and the nurse here wouldn't even give me a couple ice chips so I can swallow. It will be at least 2 hours until I'm brought in, This is anesthesia for pain management. I had carpal tunnel surgery where your'e really under anesthesia and they gave me a few ice chips. They understood the related pain. I'm sure my doctor will tell them what idiots they are. There are 12 people in the waiting room. I'm starting to think I'll just take drugs for the pain management as this causes me more physical and psychological pain which is very unhealthy read more

If your surgeon performs surgery at another surgical center please do yourself a favor and go to another surgery center. My plastic surgeon is based out of Orange County and I'm in LA so out of convenience I chose this surgical center in Ontario and I regret it. The moment we walked in the lady who checked us in was rude and looked like she just rolled out of bed came to work. Once you were taken back everyone was running around with their head chopped off and not knowing what was going on. One of the nurses who was putting my IV did not know what she was doing (it hurt so bad and blood all over my arm and sheets) and had the audacity to tell me that I was just being "hyper sensitive" since I was having surgery (boob implants) I told her no I know the difference between pain and when I'm being dramatic and that she clearly didn't know how to put the IV. I told her I needed someone else to put my IV and sure enough the other nurse put my IV in with no problem. Once I woke up I had a different team of nurses who were so sweet and nice, I wish I had them in the beginning as well. The anesthesiologist was amazing such a sweetheart and made me feel so comfortable. When you are going under for surgery you want to feel like your surgical team is on it and I was honestly scared something bad was going to happen but I already paid my surgery in full so I had no choice. I don't have any pain from my implants but my arm keeps going numb and hurts where the first nurse tried putting in an IV. Was told to show up an hour early to fill out paperwork. That's fine, I went and did that, and waiting another 45 minutes for my appointment. Another hour later I get up and check what's happening and she says it's going to be an additional hour! Why show up early then? Their reason is because "they only have 2 beds". There were so many people in the lobby. Wild how they overbook themselves, and are unable to meet appointment times. I was a bit fearful of having eye surgery at this center after reading the reviews, but I had a very positive experience. The waiting room was empty when I arrived, the wait time was brief, and the office staff was very friendly. The nurse, Gina, that was assigned to me was great and did a wonderful job taking care of me and meeting my needs. In the past I had a bad reaction to the Anesthesia and I explained that to the anesthesiologist who gave me medication to keep me from getting sick. This surgery center is dingy. Everything seems old and not clean. The lady at the front desk is rude and makes you feel unwelcome. You're already coming in hungry, thirsty, stressed and nervous about your surgery so the last thing you want to deal with when you first walk in is someone with an attitude who makes to feel uncomfortable. The nurse who called me back drew up a syringe of an antibiotic I was allergic to and the other nurse who was very nice and seemed to know what she was doing obviously, told her we can't use that as it's in the allergy class I am allergic to. My surgery was canceled that day for other reasons. I'm very happy it was and consider it a blessing in disguise as I was not feeling in good hands prior to being put under. read more

Came here a couple of years ago for spine injections and had no issues other than the excessive wait times but since I like my MD I overlooked this. 2 years later and I'm back for a repeat procedure and it was completely different. I am a health care professional who has worked in an area hospital for 30 years. This time, besides the the two hour wait, I had a rude surgery technician or MA for all I know; talking over me as if I weren't there; and before I had received any sedation! Perhaps I had better treatment the first time because they knew I worked in a hospital, but this time was atrocious. I just had surgery last night at Mid Valley Surgery Center. Before I arrived for surgery I read the reviews here on Yelp and got very anxious from what I read. I have to say that with our current situation with the pandemic and shortage of staff my experience here was excellent! My surgery was scheduled for 5:30 pm. I arrived at 5:30 and left at 7:45! To start with, I always request for the person' s name and greet each person personally. I found each person that attended to me were nice. They had had a long tiring day. However, once they felt that I was not going to be frustrated and angry ALL of them opened right up to short but friendly conversation. My care group included Monica, Elena, Sandra, Dr. Lynch and Gina. They all deserve a huge Thank You! I felt that they "had my back"! I felt comfortable in having the IV inserted and having the surgery because of all of "my team". I highly recommend Mid Valley Surgical Center. I have a second surgery there in two weeks and I honestly look forward to returning there for my surgery! read more

This place is a JOKE!! It starts with the call a day before the appointment date to let you know what time your appoinment is. Keep in mind if your appointment is on a Monday you MIGHT get a call late Friday afternoon/evening. Out of 5 appointments, I have received 3 calls from the surgery center. For the procedures done at this facility, the patient needs to have a driver due to the "sedation". (I've received better "sedation" at the bar!!!!!!!) Once you're called to the back (anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and half past your scheduled appointment time), you get undressed, answer all the pre-op questions & wait. Going into the 'surgery suite' is quite an adventure, as they are usually still cleaning up after the last patient and setting up for you. After your procedure, it's back to the 'recovery' area (same spot you just came from) so they can offer you juice, & crackers (because you've been fasting since the night before) while they take your blood pressure a few times before you're all set to go home. Heaven help you if you try to call them!!! Any pre-op or post-op questions get referred to your doctor's office. Any questions relating to your appointment time and you get put on hold for over 15 minutes (I can't tell you what happens after that; I was past the past my limit of hold time at 15 minutes!!!) Honest opinion is find somewhere else where the staff are aware that most people don't just sit around with a chauffeur at the ready for simple medical procedures that should not take any where near 4 hours!!!!! read more

I was scheduled for surgery for weeks. My doctor was there. I was there. I fasted I'm ready for a major surgery We were all ready to go.. we then find out the surgical center did not have/prepare/order the right supplies and materials needed for my surgery. My doctor is upset .. I'm upset... my surgery got cancelled 15 minutes before I'm supposed to go in because of a mistake of the surgery center. This has made a huge inconvenience for many people. Now my surgery has to be rescheduled at a different surgery center and now my surgery and recovery Is now going to extend into and effect my Christmas holiday. Thank you mid valley for not preparing properly. I've had over 30 surgeries in my life and I have NEVER seen anything like this happen read more

I came in for an epidural with Dr. Seltzer. They brought me back right at my 10am appointment time on a Monday and I was out by 11:30. Everyone was very professional and friendly. I did hear other doctors have a longer wait for their patients. I would definitely recommend scheduling with him. This was my first epidural and visit here and everything went very smooth. I was there to get nerve block injections for pain in my neck. I think the doctor, Dr. Lee is trustworthy and competent, but this center definitely could improve things. This is during a pandemic. I didn't see things wiped down after patients used them or sat in an area even though there were 2 staff members that seemed to have plenty of time doing their own things (seemed to be studying for a class and listening to music). I had to wait around 2 hours before I was finally taken back. This is while I am in pain, and fasting for more than 6 hours. While the nurse is preparing things before my procedure she tosses an oxygen tube to another nurse and it lands on the floor. The other nurse picks it up and uses it anyway. Meanwhile I am anxious about the procedure and anesthesia reaction, since it hasn't always been good in the past. read more

This surgery center is the WORST! If you can go anywhere else do so. I have been here 4 times and 3 out of the four where horrible. Putting aside the ridiculously long wait time and the fact that they call you the evening before to give you your schedule time , the staff is rude , in the front office and back, very unknowledgeable about procedures when patients ask them simple questions, always are in a rush and treat your horribly. The past 3 times I have been here they were having some kind of pot luck or lunch party and they all seemed more interested in going to lunch than their patients. I had a new nurse today who clearly didn't know what she was doing and had no supervision, and when she asked another nurse a couple different questions that nurse seemed very irritated, she didn't know know to do my IV and when she asked another nurse she said " flush it and see if it's working" then looked at my IV and said I think it's just a bad one and walked out. She then told the new nurse to go to lunch and no one ever came back to check on me.. then during my procedure I told the doctor several times that the anesthesia was not working and I could feel everything, which was painful and he just told me don't worry it will kick in, it never did and I left their very upset and I'm pain. I will never go back their. There are bad reviews on here for a reason, this place needs to retrain staff and not book appointments on top of each other to give better care to the patients and treat us like human beings. I also think the 2 "good" reviews are FAKE I was the first appointment on time and still had to wait over an hour . I would give NO stars if I could read more

I had my outpatient surgery yesterday at this surgery with my surgeon who contracts space from them. Going into it I was concerned based on the bad reviews here. However my experience was amazing. I got there 10 minutes before my check in. The receptionist knew who I was and had my paperwork ready. They were very busy however a half hour later I was brought back to do my pre op. My nurse Alexis although very busy was thorough kind and efficient. My anesthesiologist came and went over things with me and I had my surgery. When I woke up my nurse Erin was amazing. She was absolutely the highlight of my experience. Although I was in pain and having a little trouble she stayed with me, made me comfortable, and in my opinion went above and beyond what she needed to do for me. I would recommend this place to any of you who are considering surgery with a doctor that contracts through here. Thank you again Erin! read more
