I hate these fees in every capacity working with contractors, but I can't recall this ever being present outside of plumbers and electricians. I didn't proceed to set-up the consultation because their reviews online and competitive estimate should provide enough knowledge to their potential customer vs. instead of pinning them into working with them because of the thought of, "Well, we've already paid $100 towards working with this company..."

SUBJECT: Spivey's Premier Painting - evaluation …read more As a result of the excellent paint work performed by Spivey Premier Painting on the exterior of my home, I commissioned them to also paint my 13' X 14' cedar storage shed in our back yard. They first performed a power wash of the shed at the time they painted our house. Then, several days later they returned to apply the paint to the shed. The west side of the shed was shaded by trees and mold had deteriorated the wood. Mr. Spivey noticed the condition and recommended a repair with 2' X 12' lumber to the outside of the shed, to which I agreed. They applied the reinforcement, which fit perfectly, and sealed it with caulking. All done very professionally. I am glad that they do more than just painting, They are able to do the complete job. Being made of cedar, the shed required two coats of paint. After the first coat of paint was applied the color was more red than I preferred, but they were able to make a run to the local Sherwin Williams store and purchase a darker brown color and the final second coat of paint dried to a beautiful smoky gray-brown. Mr. Spivey and his son are professional, personable, and very meticulous in their work. No paint on anything but the shed and they left the area completely clean. My wife and I love to look out the kitchen window at our freshly painted shed. They even left me a half can of paint for future touch up if necessary!
