What they tell you is that you are covered by your insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shirld). What they don't tell you is that they are going to charge so much - $368 for one visit, including $38 for heat/ice, that after your $40 copay, you will still have to pay another $60. Be aware that for one visit, you'll be paying more. I cannot see how applying heat is forty bucks. Nor can I see how it can possibly be $368 for a single visit to be charged to my insurance company. I certainly won't return. Not a chance. Next time I see a chiropractor you can be sure I will say, "Nothing that my insurance company won't cover. Just an adjustment." So sad to report that this practice has gone down hill. Granted - a global pandemic clearly set the practice back but there is no info on their Park Heights location (Dr Jacobs) and it is still not open and nobody seems to know if the office will open again. Looks like Dr Jacobs is not returning just like the amazing Dr Welty. Nobody seeks concerned to advice his patients accordingly. Front desk at Eastern Ave staff leaves to be desired and is sub-par. When I called they were not professional or welcoming. When I came to Fells Point office no toilet paper in bathrooms and although I mentioned it - they did not put TP in restroom during my visit. When I checked in the front desk staff told me that they had no idea why the girl who booked my appointment booked me for 10 am & nobody got my records from the PH location as promised (they wouldn't book me yesterday because of that). Front desk staff just stared at each other leaving me to wonder if I needed to leave and my schlep was for not. They asked me to take a seat. And then walked in at least five other patients who were waiting and none of us could socially distance. They we are all crammed. Not socially distanced. Then walked in a long haired young chiro with another chiro shadowing. This new heavy metal practitioner reached out to shake my hand and by reflex I did and then said "oh no. I need to hand sanitize" and swiftly did just that. This chiro got some movement but hurt my neck after 3 failed attempts to crack my neck. To add insult to injury one of the employees was walking around with NO mask. Annoying and rude that this staff person (front desk billing clerk) did not see fit to protect all of us packed in like sardines. The people that work here are so pleasant. They work well with there clients. If you need to reschedule your appointment they are more than happy to accommodate you. As soon as you walk in there office you are greeted. They acknowledge you by name and are treated as there no.1 priority is getting you back to feeling your normal self. Mid-Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic is a relatively new office that opened up in August 2012. I was thoroughly impressed with the facility and equipment here. It's definitely more complete and more hi-tech than any other chiropractor's office that I've been to and subsequently more inviting, eliciting a feeling that this place is pretty legit. Dr. Gulitz is very amiable and personable. I had the opportunity to converse with him before being treated. I like his vision and I'm certain he's in Baltimore to really bring the field of chiropractic studies up a notch, kind of like a mini revolution or a breakthrough in the practice itself. It seems he has a genuine interest in putting the patient first and seeing them recover from their issues. Unlike the majority of chiropractors that I'm familiar with, Dr. Gulitz only recommends treatment when necessary. If you're okay after one or two manipulations, he won't suggest another follow up or a regular check up. This is something I appreciate. A plus side to Mid-Atlantic is that the office has its own parking lot off of Washington, so you'll have no excuse being late to your appointments. I'm also a fan of the fact that Dr. Gulitz keeps his office open till 7 PM during the weekdays and during the morning on Saturdays. It definitely helps not having to take time off from work for treatment. P.S. I have to emphasize again the awesomeness of this facility. From the instant x-ray machines and the new chiropractic benches, to the heat and electro therapies, and to the treadmills, stretching table, and fitness balls. It puts some of the more common forms of medicine's offices (i.e. doctors, dentists, etc.) to shame. P.P.S. The front desk lady is also nice and friendly. read more

If I were rating the doc's chiropractic treatment skills alone, this review would have more stars, however the professionalism here leaves MUCH to be desired. The front desk ladies seem a bit immature, petty, and appear to be amused with making things difficult for patients. I was shocked by this because my experience with them was completely contrary to what others have reported here on Yelp. It is sad that such a great doctor employs people who really do not know the value of customer service AND that said individuals are essentially the "face" of his business. Dr. Guilitz is hands down amazing. I started treatment with Dr. Guilitz in Dec. 2012 due to back pain from a car accident. The pain ranged from 6-7 on a scale of 1-10 (10 severe pain), after treatment the pain has significantly dulled and at times not noticeable. This was significant considering pain I had before the accident that is no longer noticeable. The experience at Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab is exactly what you expect of a Dr.'s office, if not more. For starters, there is a free parking lot in the back of the office, which is super convenient in the middle of the city. Making appointments is a breeze, usually a call to the office and LaKeisha (Office Manager) will do her best to get you an appointment at your desired time. LaKeisha has also gone as far as setting up appointments for me at other locations to get X-rays, she is very accommodating and efficient. I had issues with my insurance charging me duplicate, LaKeisha handled it and made the process extremely painless and worry free. During treatment, Dr. Gulick walks you through the cause of your pain and guides you through his recommended treatment. He has a great no b.s. philosophy and won't just tell you anything to keep you in the office; if he can't treat you, he will let you know and make suggestions for the care you need. It got to a point where I actually looked forward to my appointments with Dr. Gulick. He would hand me the remote to watch my show of choice, usually trash reality TV, and we'd chat about the show or other things going on in our lives. He's absolutely not a stuffy know it all Dr., he's cool, relatable and good at what he does. read more

Always aware of your needs and if he doesn't think he can help he's willing to refer out so you get the care you need. The office is clean, modern, and appears to have all brand new equipment. They also have great office hours. (Open late during the week and on Saturdays) Free parking lot (which is rare in this area) and right on the bus line as well. I had my first visit here today and I am so pleased. The office is small, the staff is friendly, & it's in a great location (easy parking). I got to the office just before 5:30 this afternoon & I was helped very quickly by the ladies in the waiting area. The doctor asked me a few questions and did an brief evaluation on me. Then I got stems & heat to loosen up my back before the adjustment. It was awesome watching him interact with his patients. He is bilingual (English & Spanish) & just cares about the people he has come into the office. I will be back for sure, not because I'm on a schedule routine.. but because this office was incredible! Was referred here by a lawyer. Had to request 3 times for the chiropractor to do a manual adjustment. He wanted to strictly use a vibration massager on my back for less than ten seconds, then click the activator tool a few times along my spine. Kept saying "manual adjustment next time". After the first manual adjustment on the 4th visit, I came in and after my traction & stim, the front desk woman approached me saying the doctor didn't need to see me today unless I wanted to see him. They were trying to get me out of there without ever seeing the chiropractor. Overall the adjustments got better as Dr. Woods seemed to become more comfortable with me. I was adjusted twice by Wes, and once by a woman. Each of these chiropractors would swing and miss with my neck adjustment. Which is liable to happen, but I've never been worked on my a doctor who didn't at least try to correct themselves after that miss!! Then, once I needed to send the bill to my insurance company, I was astounded at the absurd amount they charge per service while delivering these services at a sub par rate in as little time as they can get away with. Despite knowing that I was only covered for 2500, they let me use up over 3000 and told me I was responsible for the remaining balance since I was no longer represented by an attorney. They refused to negotiate with me on the bill. Fortunately I found an attorney and this will be resolved. Would not recommend this place. Other than Laura, the front desk staff is rude and they never say hello, goodbye, thank you, or welcome you when you walk in. I contemplated switching chiropractic offices after my 3rd visit with no manual adjustment but figured it would be too much trouble and money to do so. read more

After spraining my neck, mid short spine during Pilates I was basically immobilized. After trying heat pads and massage methods I gave up and turned to yelp to find the closest chiropractor who could squeeze me in ASAP. Gave mid-Atlantic a call and they were able to take me in 15 mins! I had never been to a chiropractor before so I was a bit nervous and the pain level was climbing but Dr. G was amazing, he put me to ease immediately and cracked my neck while telling me to move my toes. Which was terrifying, but FELT AMAZING. I've set up my next appointment and would def recommend him to anyone in the neighborhood. Sidenote, as others have mentioned the staff is...
