Vanessa Slattery is the sole owner and massage therapist of MicroSpa in Longmont, CO. My experience with her over the last year was unprofessional, demeaning, and seemingly vindictive. It appears she refuses business if you either have back tightness/spasms or if you do not see her on a regular basis. My last online booking was for August 19, 2024, at 4:05pm for a 90-minute massage (booked on Sunday, August 18). I received a text as well as an email confirmation that stated she was "happy to see me, and thanking me for confirming the appointment, etc." When I showed up to the August 19th appointment at 4pm, the minute I opened the door to her building, she was sitting on the couch in the lobby. Per the look of disgust on her face, I knew something wasn't right, so I asked to use the bathroom so I could refocus. When I returned, I noticed she wasn't in the massage room, so I walked back out to the lobby, and she immediately started questioning as to why I was there. I stated, "For a massage because I have upper back/shoulder and neck tightness." She verbally demeaned and abused me by behaving unprofessionally and disrespectfully telling me that she could have filled the spot 1.5 years ago when I came to her with back pain. She was expecting me to come back to her, but I still had back pain that she refused to treat, so I went back to my other massage therapist who would see me the following day. I also reminded her that she was the one who turned me away that day so this is not my problem. Having said all of this, Vanessa is good at her craft as a massage therapist, but her bedside manners have and always have been lacking. When I go to a massage therapist, I expect to be treated with respect and dignity and I also want to feel relaxed, calm and be at peace. Massages are supposed to be a good experience, not a bad one. And she treated me like I was the last person she wanted to see step foot into her spa. It felt like she wanted me drive to the appointment just to lecture/belittle me as well not give me a massage. It is really unfortunate that her personality doesn't reflect the professionalism of her website. read more

I had a facial here in February, it was an overall good experience. She was very helpful and I was happy with the facial and the foot rub! The only negative was her dog walking around in the waiting room. I had an allergic reaction on my skin the next day (I'm not sure if it was the product or the dog) but she was quick to refund me and I was super impressed with her customer service. read more

Vanessa is a remarkable massage therapist and esthetician. I have been fortunate enough to sample her many and diverse services the last 5 years and she never disappoints. She is knowledgable on a wide range of exquisite services that are fantastic help in taking care of yourself and pampering. I have experienced her foot reflexology and you can tell she has extensive training because it's truly a luxury and pleasure. And you feel so good all over for days. She never cuts corners or scrimps on details. Her lotions and potions are all top of the line and so fragrant and pleasant but nothing perfumey. I recently had the microdermabrasion facial and the rejuvenation package with a warm oil scalp massage add on. It had hot stone massage as part of the package and since I run too warm I was concerned it might be too much but it was heavenly and interestingly enough the stones didn't feel like super heat. They felt like light! It was a marvelous and enchanting feeling to feel orbs of light placed down my spine and I also love how when you turn over she tucks the stones strategically under you. I felt great to have 4 stones framing my sacrum and hips. When the microdermabrasion was done my face glowed for days. People commented. I'm 52 and routinely mistaken for decades younger and I'm sure it's in large part due to this amazing skin care Vanessa offers. If you want to treat yourself to something amazing I whole heartedly recommend this package! Vanessa is fun and caring and really listens to your individual needs, allergies, wants and what you enjoy. During my last visit to Colorado I received a much needed massage and facial from Vanessa. She is amazing and I can not wait for my next visit. Vanessa is highly trained and experienced and knows how to assess and get to the problem areas. The facial was the best facial I ever had. Vanessa incorporated a wet micro dermabrasion treatment which is so much more pleasant than the dry micro demabrasion. I feels great and leaves your skin glowing for days.
