The class is all day which sounds a bit intimidating at first but it flys by ! I felt so comfortable with these ladies that it made this class so fun and made all my nerves just float away . They provide lunch for you which is so great cause if your like me you are constantly hungry so that's a nice add on ! I'm changing my review as I feel I wasn't prepared for a few things leaving this class. Originally, I felt this was an amazing experience, setting me up for cosmetic tattooing. Although I loved the class and was able to practice on live models, they don't thoroughly teach you about setting up your station, tearing down your station, and proper sanitization for California standards. In class, they say Clorox wipes are approved wipes, depending on the county. That's inaccurate. It needs to be Clorox medical wipes which are mainly used in a hospital setting. California requires wipes such as Sani Cloth. I was not prepared to face my county and become permitted to work. That part has been long and dreadful because my set up and tear down/ sanitization was not on point. Your county may also require sanitization reports for your microblades which, if you purchase from this school's website, they can't provide you. read more

I took the Microblading course and became certified at the Camarillo class on Sunday. I had been looking for a place to train at that was close to home, because having to travel far was not ideal, especially after becoming a new mom this year. The Certification class is only for one long day, but I like that follow up is a continuation for months to come. That make me feel at ease knowing that it technically isn't just one day training. I got some guidance from Wendy, Josh, & Christine. They were very encouraging and gave positive motivation during the Microblading procedures. My models were excited and left happy with their new eyebrows. The results were beautiful and natural looking! One of my models that originally had no hair, left with tears of joy, being so happy to finally have beautiful natural looking brows! Consumers beware. I decided to take the microblading certification course through Microblading Academy Inc and it left much to be desired. The course did not have any structure, was not an environment conducive to learning, and I felt like I walked away wasting $2650. With that being said, months later I am now an established microblading artist with my own studio, after spending EXTENSIVE hours self-teaching myself via the internet, youtube, researching, and practicing, because this institution provided me with little to nothing. Course content- The website falsely advertises that its curriculum includes tattoo corrections, shading techniques, sterilization, machine vs blade, and several other things that were not covered at all in the course. When deciding on a microblading certification course to register for, tattoo corrections and shading techniques were important factors to me when registering for a microblading course. However, the course did not include this. When I asked my instructor about shading techniques, they literally told me to "go watch videos on youtube" about shading techniques. That is not the response I expect to hear when paying thousands of dollars for a certification course. The class is only 8 hours, so I expected it to be packed full with learning, however half the time was spent with the instructors sitting around. The course also didn't cover any type of information on health department certification like the website advertises. In the short 8 hours of this class, the first hour was wasted arguing with one student about paying her tuition. The instructor quickly read through about half of the "textbook" you are provided with. They spent about 30 seconds on color theory, and 30 seconds on how to map. There was a lot of time practicing hairstrokes on practice skin, but no real support or guidance from instructors. Students were left asking questions and trying to pick the brains of the instructors because there was SO much that wasn't covered. Certification - One of the things this course promised was that we would get our certification the day of the class. However myself and another student did not receive any type of certificate that day because they "didn't have it printed". The instructors apologized and told me they would overnight my certificate the next day. I did not receive my certificate in the mail until a week later. Not only that, but one of the student's microblading kit wasn't there so she had to borrow supplies the whole day. Very frustrating and again, not something I would expect when paying this amount of money. Prepwork- A 7-ish page document of blank faces / eyebrows to practice before the class, and how to map, however it was lackluster in explaining HOW to draw proper hairstrokes. It was more "here you go, magically know how to do this!" (the general theme of this course) Overall the course was sloppy and unstructured and not enough information was taught to feel ready to microblade. This course is extremely overpriced for what it is and I question its legitimacy. Aspiring microblading artists, please do your research when picking a microblading institution. Because there are many like this that are just trying to make a quick buck but send their students off with a "certification" when they really have NO idea how to safely and properly microblade, lowering the standards for the entire microblading industry. Furthermore, the instructors are inexperienced in comparison to other microblading institutions and don't even teach their students how to properly hold a blade and create a hair stroke (blade must be 90 degrees, cannot lean, and skin must be STRETCHED). Again, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. I have made multiple attempts in reaching out to the owner of this business, to explain my dilemma and frustrations, and I have received zero response. To me it seems like this is just a business for her and that she doesn't actually care about her students or the quality of her institution. I am prepared for the owner to reply to this review to make out that I am the bad in an attempt to save her reputation, however I tried to reach out to the owner months prior to writing this review and was never contacted back. ***FRAUD ALERT*** low quality training, unprofessional & inexperienced instructors. Particularly avoid the scalp micropigmentation class with Christine. My model didn't show up so she had me tattoo her head. She didn't teach me. I taught her to use paper towels instead of kitchen towels when tattooing scalps. They changed the time date and location of the class on me. They gave me an outdated machine. They were supposed to provide me with a pen style tattoo equipment but they gave me a old machine with a clunky motor on the back. I also had issues getting information from them regarding their ink. I had originally signed up to take a class with Microblading Academy back in April 2017. Due to a move and the excitement of becoming pregnant, I had to keep pushing my class date out. JoAnn was very helpful in rescheduling my class a ton of times, and answered all of questions quickly and thoroughly. During the class itself, I learned a lot about the Microblading procedure and was very satisfied with both my time and money spent to take the class. I had the pleasure of having Josh and Channing as my instructors, and they were both so great! Josh was really funny and you could easily see his passion for not only Microblading, but for the beauty industry as a whole! He was prepared, thorough and encouraging throughout the class. When it came time to practice stokes on the "skin" sheets provided, Josh and Channing were right behind us watching, informing, correcting, and performing for/with us. Though Josh and Channing were both amazing Microbladists, they both had different looking stroke while using the same technique.
