I have been using Micks for around two years. We have given them almost daily work. However, they have no respect or appreciation for regular customers. After two years I still get sent drivers who have no idea on how to get to places, so I have to direct them, by sheer luck I am able to. I still waste ten minutes on the phone clarifying that my house has no number, just a name, apparently this is unheard of. I still have to run to the bottom of the street to meet my taxi, because they cannot find the house, despite it's name being in three foot metal letters. They are always late and take the longest route, if they think they can get away with it and their customer service skills are appauling. They almost always break quickly and almost crash, causing upset to the passengers. Today I booked a taxi thirty minutes before a film was due to start at the cinema, 15mins away, when the time became so late I would've missed ten minutes of the film, excluding time to buy tickets and traffic delays, I gave up and called to cancel the taxi. They didn't seem to understand that to attend a cinema requires that you get there before the film starts and to get there later would be a waste of time. They further didn't understand that when a taxi firm states they will be there in 10mins, I expect them to be there in 10mins and not half an hour, as such they laughingly had the 'brass neck' to ask if I would pay a call out fee, of course I told them in no uncertain terms that I would not, so they ridiculously said that they would block my number. I ask you, who would use them after all this? And so, that's Micks, don't use them! read more

i have been a customer for over 10 years until i rang on 28th of december for a taxi i was told i was blacklisted for soiling a cab on the 27th dec i did not use a micks cab on that date because when i did ring they said i had to wait nearly 1 hour this was 8,15am i rang alpha and got one in 10 mins i can prove this all in all i have had a reasonable service but the firm is now swamped with drivers who only want large fares so they either say your not in and its a no job or they switch off the radio and go home leaving you late for work but not all are like that i have been blacklisted before for cancelling a cab when i kept being told it will be there in 5 ,i have spent £80 to £90 a week every week but the arrogance of this firm now is unbelievable i am told that the owner is swamping the firm with drivers just to get extra radio rent never mind decent drivers making a descent living quality control applies to your customers micks not the bank balance of the owner i can and will prove i didnt use micks on that date in a court of law if i have to i will be spending my money at a firm who actually put prices down this holiday and that wasnt micks read more

If I could give them minus stars, I would. I've been using Micks on and off for years but recently (for the past year) started using them 3 times a week to get to work. They're late every time, causing me to be late to work. I've had drivers make sexist comments, some are rude, some swear at other traffic. Most either speed, run red lights or break suddenly. I've even had one try to charge me waiting fee because he came far too early and I wasn't ready. The taxis are sometimes dirty with rubbish lying around and frequently they've attempted to overcharge me. I've complained numerous times and still nothing has been done due to what seems like rude and incompetent administration staff on the phones. Unfortunately this company is the cheapest I've found so far but then I suppose you get what you pay for, and what I'm paying for is diabolical. read more

never had a problem with micks, was always the best... until july Asked for a five seater to take us to the airport (if a five seater wasn't available, 2 taxi's would turn up... fair enough) Only one taxi turned up, 3 lads got in while the other 2 waited patiently 15 minutes later, i telephoned micks to see where my other taxi was. "he's just round the corner love" another 20 minutes later, still no taxi. So once again i telephoned "oh sorry love, its a new driver and hes turned his radio off and got out of his car. ill have to send another one" 15 minutes later, the taxi turned up... i got to the airport 50 minutes later than planned and didnt even get an apology. jake read more

Competitive rates against other taxi firms and some drivers are good. Problems lie with time keeping, honesty and way of being spoke to on phone, it would be nice if they knew what they were talking about and checked with drivers the time scale before saying how long a taxi will be, same with an advanced booking, check to see if they have a driver available with specifications required before saying 'that's booked for you' then having to wait half an hour after the booked time for the taxi to turn up. All good intentions maybe but needs a good reshuffle and possible training. I am an ex taxi controller, hence comments. read more

Been using Mick's for over 2 years now, but lately they dissapointed me. Booked a taxi and it never turned up. Been waiting over 30min, nothing. Went to the phone booth to call them, and the response was that there is no such a booking in the system? My office phone automatically records all the conversations, and I have a proof that I called and booked. I can even upload it and post the link here. Please don't lie to me over the phone anymore, lady. I will continue using the service, but don't let me down like this anymore. I had to walk 4 miles from work.... read more

my wife wanted a taxi from town to Bentley so she rang and was told that there was no taxis so she rang me I at the time was near the office so I called in there was 6 or 7 seven taxis sat doing nothing in the car park they had been sat there for some time going nothing with no jobs in the foreseeable future I went in to the office and got her a taxi straight away so what is all the bullshit that they had no taxis ???? there is no wonder the drivers don't earn any money if the base staff wont take the work and this has happened on more than one occasion read more

Would just like to say, what a excellent service we received from Micks Mini cabs,, After phoning round several taxi firms in Doncaster and getting very expensive quotes to take us to Charnwood in Blyth, Micks took us and gave us a return for just under £30, which was by far the cheapest around. Not only that, but both drivers who took us there and returned us where there on time, very polite, and profesional in there job. Thanks Micks, we will be deffinately be using you again. read more

They have reasonable prices and much more reliable than the other taxi firms, only complaint i have is that some of the drivers can be very rude, as one was approaching me a few weeks ago to pick me up, the driver began swearing at an old woman out the window as she drove infront, i can understand he was annoyed, but there was no need for the swearing. Although he seemed very polite to me. But overall i would recommend them as there are good and bad in all firms. read more

The last time I used Micks Mini Cabs was about 9 years ago. I stopped using them because they were not reliable. I booked a cab to take my cat to be neutered, yes they turned up and got me to the vets but never turned up to collect me, consequently, I had to take her home on the bus. It was a big operation for her and she was still anaesthetised. It happened more than once that they didn't turn up. read more

I have always used micks as they are most of the time fast and reliable and at good prices! the only downfall is the person they have working at the night que in the town centre. Rowdy people throwing pizza at the walls inside and he joined in instead of either asking them to stop or leave. Will not use this service again for getting a taxi home. read more

Been booking micks mini cabs for about 5 years, they were ok to start with, but then when you book taxis regular they take you for granted, booked one tonight 12/7/10 for 11.00, turned up at 11.20, asked to be put on call back ,not done,bad service, happens on a regular basis, not good enough when people want to get home. beware of this disgusting firm not only do their drivers kick women out in the early hours of the morning but this firm also blacklists disabled customers for running away from their drivers EVEN THOUGH THE CUSTOMER IS IN A WHEEL CHAIR!! i know of at least 20 people in doncaster this has been done to !! this firm needs to be shut down !!! read more

Absolutely terrible timing. 4 telephone calls and 1 callback from the taxi company and still no taxi. On the 4th call was told the driver claimed a 'no show', impossible, I was stood at the door waiting I can't stand liars. A 15 minute wait for the taxi ended up by me canceling after waitng 50 minutes. read more

Saved my ass plenty of times. Not as many cabs as alpha but cheaper and much more reliable!
