If you have to get a root canal, this is the place to get it. The atmosphere is a combination of a spa, a speakeasy and a house of worship. I've never been to any medical office quite like it. It's exceptionally warm and soothing.
While in the chair, you can look up and see gentle motivational posters on the ceiling. There are spiritual books throughout the office. It wouldn't surprise me in the least, if the staff prayed at the beginning of each day, and that calmness and spiritual purpose is present.. at the dentists office!
There are stained glass windows in each room. There are no fluorescent lights. It's kind of dark but in a super soothing way. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a candlelight root canal special. And I would go but just for the atmosphere and the Frank Sinatra tunes. I honestly had the impulse to move in.
Dr. Mickel and the staff were so nice. He kept encouraging me and told me he was proud of me, for dealing with the discomfort. When do you ever get that kind of empathy from medical professionals? I felt more loved than at my own home (lol). In fact the procedure was pretty painless. They were much more concerned about my pain level than at the regular dentist. It's hard to say you enjoyed a root canal, but this was as good as it could possibly get. read more
