I, instead, have the pleasure of visiting Dr. Chartier and her amazing team, who are my counsel for dental hygiene and all things teeth related. While Dr. Chartier is my dentist, I've never felt the dread that others express when it's those times of the year. No one should dread going to the dentist and I know that I don't! When it's time for those annual dental checkups or if something more is warranted, Dr. Chartier and her team of professional, knowledgeable, and helpful staff are there to help. Everyone on her team places the dental patient first and provides outstanding care. In fact, some of my friends, who happen to be a bit demanding and critical, even have compliments and praise for the care they receive. Her practice is conveniently located not too far off the I-85 and Clairmont Road Exit in Atlanta's North Druid Hills/Toco Hills area. Parking is not an issue, as her practice is located in a building that once was a bank, and parking is readily available. Upon entering the building, one can tell that the experience Dr. Chartier has built revolves around the customer. The waiting area is comfortable, graciously appointed, and includes touches designed to complement the services provided. Truthfully, calling it a waiting room is a bit odd, as I've never had to wait as I have at other appointments. The dental staff continues to do their part to ensure a safe visit for patients. The covid pandemic has introduced a need for extra personal safety measures and this is acknowledged. Cleanliness has never been an issue at this practice, yet each team member continues to be covid aware and does their part to help ensure all are comfortable visiting the practice. One of the specialties of Dr. Michele Chartier is that of cosmetic density. She recently has expanded the services she offers to include complementary in office procedures that synergize well with her dentistry work. There are some procedures that she is board certified to provide patients that one would go to an esthetician or a dermatologist to have performed. I've been a patient here for years and have always received excellent treatment--and I have had a ton of dental work! In addition the office is pleasant and calming; the staff is friendly and professional. The hygienist is very thorough and knowledgeable. They work with me on filing insurance, scheduling, etc. and I never have to wait long, so I have less time to get anxious about having work done in my mouth. Definitely recommend them. read more

This so-called doctor of dental science botched a couple of my fillings, leaving unfilled areas within the tooth, which I've subsequently had to have redone at my expense. Her manner was also exceedingly unprofessional. I was a smoker at the time I saw this dentist. This misnomered professional deemed it fitting to expound at great length in absent-minded conversation with the assisting hygienist on the details of how disgusting my oral habit was and how the carcinogenic and other insalubrious consequences of smoking were duly deserved. I only saw her as she took over for the excellent Dr. George Slappey, who it seems must have been more anxious to retire than to choose a fitting successor to his practice. In any event, I'd avoid this one, whether you have deleterious oral habits or not. read more

Dr. Chartier is amazing. I'm a bit uncomfortable in all dr. Office settings. Dr. Chartier always puts me at total ease. I had to have a root canal this past year. Dr. Chartier and her fantastic staff made the whole process a breeze. She fitted me for my crown and got me on my way. The experience was to great that I decided to have my silver amalgam fillings replaced with composite. Needles and drills in my mouth freak me out, but Dr. Chartier is so skilled and gentle, it's not scary to me anymore. I love my new composite fillings. Dr. Chartier and her staff are so fantastic. Her Hygenists are extra careful when cleaning, she keeps super records of each visit, she provided me a very important opinion about recession I had going on and referred me to a specialist that fixed me, and the price is just right for services. It's real easy to get an appointment, there's plenty of parking, her office is very clean, and they even have an awesome fish tank that everyone should see. Dr. Chartier has been my Dentist for over 3 years now. I have been to over a dozen different dentist since I moved to Atlanta in 1978. My first Dentist was great. I felt very comfortable with him for the 8 years that I saw him and he took very good care of my teeth. I would still be seeing, unfortunately he died and that was so sad. I realized that finding a new Dentist would be VERY Difficult! I went to over a dozen different Dentists and each had his/her own problems. I realized that there are LOTS of BAD Dentists out there that can really ruin your teeth and make me fearful of each new dentist that I encountered. Finally, I got a referral from my PC-MD to Dr. Chartier and from my first visit Dr. Chartier won me over. She proved that there are still Great Dentists out there who prove that they care about their patients. Dr. Chartier is an exceptionally good dentist...I mean really exceptional. She took care of a "bite" problem that I had for over 50 years. I went to an orthodontist for over a year and my bottom teeth and bite got worse. Dr. Chartier "inexpensively" and "painlessly" straightened my teeth in just a couple months time. I also had some significant cavities that needed attention as well as some fillings that needed replacing. Dr. Chartier took care of issues in such a comfortable and easy way. She has great technique when it comes to shots and her dental work that has made going to the dentist a quasi-pleasurable thing. Dr. Chartier has aligned herself with a Team that is TERRIFIC! The professional staff Maureen and Megan are very attentive and go out of their way to make me feel comfortable during and after my visit. Maureen has such a calm and professional demeanor and works so well next to the Doctor. Megan is a great Hygienist. She knows each tooth and is very attentive to my periodontic needs. I want to Thank Dr. Chartier and her team for making my teeth as good as they can possibly be and for re-instating my confidence in Dentistry. I only wish I had found Dr. Chartier sooner. Dr. Chartier is amazing. First off I needed to adjust some not so straight teeth. Trust me, the dental office is my least favorite place . In fact you might say that I have a fear of it, doctors offices in general, needles the whole thing. Dr. Chartier and her wonderful staff made me feel so comfortable and at ease. We discussed all my options and decided on a retainer for issue. It was the perfect fix for me, I am so so happy. It's nice not to cover my face when I laugh or smile. Then it was time for me to replace some very very very old amalgam silver fillings. I did have a little apprehension, I've always heard the getting fillings replaced is awful. Dr. Chartier and her staff again made me feel so completely at ease. The entire experience was so great. She replaced the feelings with white composite. I am so happy with my teeth and my smile. I have a great smile and I don't have those grey fillings in my mouth whenever I open it. I can't recommend Dr. Chartier and her staff enough. After yesterday's visit to my new dentist, I have finally been able to repair all the "work" Dr. Chartier did to my mouth. Where do I start? Yesterday, I had a to replace a new crown that Dr. Charier first put in 3 years ago!!! It was not seated properly. Because it was done so poorly my insurance would not cover a repair to a new crown that was placed in by Dr. Chartier. Yeah, $1,700 out of my pocket. . So many calamaties with crowns. Think twice about having her do a crown. If it wasn't for Dr. Waters (my wonderful endodontist) that could do root canals around her shotty work, I would be toothless. read more
