After a thorough and consultative exam, an explanation to me about what he thought was going on, a resolution was forthcoming immediately. Directly thereafter the nurse was back, efficiently showed me the exercises I needed to do, and sent me to check out. Check out was immediate and pleasant, and I was in the elevator before I knew what hit me. I know I've used the word immediate repeatedly in this review, however it must be pointed out that my opinion is this not a word associated with your average doctor visit. Particularly not when you're in your patient which I was in this circumstance. I was in and out in one hour which is incredible for new patient visit. AND they were nice about it!

Series of questions asked and answered. There is a young man set up at the front taking care of all these protocols. Then waiting area is nicely spaced. While waiting for my therapist I would watch the same young man from the front door go over and clean and sanitize gym equipment stations. He would flip a sign on each piece to show it had been cleaned. Bryan is my physical therapist. Very friendly. He spent a good deal of time getting to the root of the injury and finding the right ways to strengthen and improve my shoulder. He gave me home exercises to do until I return and advised to not over do it.

After waiting AN HOUR after my scheduled appointment time, he burst into the room, no introduction, and immediately started reading off my chart about what hurt on me where. A quick pull and push on my arm, and he declared I had tendonitis. "Do you want a steroid shot or an MRI?" Then a nurse opened the door, told him he had a call, and he abruptly left. He reappeared ten minutes later asking me if I had decided on the steroid shot or the MRI, strongly suggesting I go with the steroid shot, and that I could always set-up an MRI later. I tried to ask about the growth inside my arm (which the x-ray my PCP took clearly showed), but he said "it was no big deal" and he "wasn't worried about it." I tried to ask about the success rate of a steroid shot reducing pain and he said, "I don't know, but people stop calling me so I assume they're better."* I tried to ask if a steroid shot had any side effects or would increase my anxiety/depression and he said, "there's no side effects and I don't know why anxiety or depression would be related to this." I felt like I had no option but to get the steroid shot. So he said, "Okay, great," and left the room again. A PA came in, set-up the shot, then departed. Another ten minutes later, he came back into the room, jabbed me, and asked, "How do you feel?! Better already?! Move it around! Check it out!" I moved it around. I checked it out. It felt the same. "Ahh, well, give it a week and then if you're still in pain in a month or so, let me know," he said, then left for the final time. I was talked at. I was talked around. I was talked over. I'm not sure he ever even knew my name. Maybe he's seen people with pain like mine a hundred times, but this is my first time dealing with something like this. It would have been great to have a conversation with him, for him to have listened to me, for him to have actually looked at my xray, for him to have given me any information (he scribbled down "things to Google later" [his words] for me), for him to have had any bedside manner at all. I understand he might have been very, very busy and he probably needed to move me in and move me out as quickly as possible, but... there's still a tactful way to do that. My dad comes here for his pain/surgeries and he *loves* his doctor; he came with me today and was appalled at the way I was treated. "Glad he's not my doctor," he said as we left. I can't recommend or not recommend Spectrum at this time - it seems like it depends on the doctor you get, and I just happened to luck out. But I will say: it's YOUR health. And if you don't feel like you're getting the care you need or deserve, find somewhere you do feel comfortable and listened to. *ONE MONTH LATER: I wrote the above the week of my first (and only) appointment. I decided not to post the review until a month had passed so I could see if the steroid shot worked. While less and in a different way now, my arm is still sore/achey. But I guess the doctor did get one thing right: I won't be calling him again.

This is a large operation of very skilled physicians. Recent carpal tunnel surgery was efficient…read more(left wrist) My other wrist was done by ordinary surgery and I experienced a longer recovery with some lingering pain for a couple of months. OA of Maine uses a percutaneous release with ultrasound leaving a tiny scar, very short recovery, and no need for physical therapy (PT). Obviously each case is different. My previous surgery was a mini-open release which required considerable PT. But bear in mind that the orthopedic surgeon will advise the best procedure for your particular anatomy and issue.

I never feel rushed when I see him and he always answers my questions and then some. I can't say, however, that I like the rest of this practice. They act like they are doctors and you are bothering them. I'm also not a huge fan of the other doctors and NP's who work here. Kathleen McKeon is quite standoffish and quick to get you out the door. Dr. Kim, who I have had to see a few times when my doctor was unavailable was the worst. Every appointment with her was a complete waste of time, with no resolution or answers. She refuses to give a referral to a specialist even though she can't figure out a diagnosis. She wasted months of my time when I had an urgent circulatory matter (a blood clot) that actually required an emergent CT scan with IV contrast. I didn't know it at the time, when I went to see her that it was a blood clot. Only after going to a quick care and getting a referral to a vascular surgeon was I told what it was. I will never take an appointment with her again and if you have anything out of the ordinary going on, I recommend you see another doctor. Would rate this practice lower, but I really love Dr Kazimierczak!

The front desk reception is exceptionally rude. If you carry any outstanding balance, patient care and mental health immediately cease to be a priority--the sole focus becomes collecting payment. Furthermore, descriptions claiming the facility is "clean" are inaccurate; located inside a mini-mall, the office gives the impression of a temporary pop-up operation rather than an established medical clinic. I received treatment from Micah Malenfant for years. He eventually expressed dissatisfaction with Seaside and departed to launch a private practice, suggesting I transition with him to ensure continuity of care. It was only after I moved to his private practice that Seaside suddenly claimed my final appointment was not covered by insurance, leaving me with a substantial balance. Ever since I prioritized continuing care with my long-term provider, they have treated me poorly regarding this balance. Years later, Mr. Malenfant began abruptly ignoring my communications right when my long-standing prescription renewals were due. After failing to submit my refills or respond to me for over a week, his eventual reply was vague and failed to disclose that his private practice had closed and he was forced to return to Seaside. He subsequently emailed asking if I was available on a specific date to figure out my treatment; I confirmed my availability immediately, but heard nothing back. Rather than professionally addressing the disruption to my care or providing a clear explanation, he sent extensive, highly unprofessional emails detailing his own personal issues and life crises. While I wish hardship on no one and hope he receives any care he may need, a provider cannot operate this way while managing patients. Shortly after apologizing and promising to work things out, his final message stated he would simply no longer respond to me. Both the facility and Micah Malenfant demonstrate severe unprofessionalism, prioritizing balance collection over patient safety and mental health. Navigating healthcare is difficult enough, and no one deserves to experience this level of neglect. If management takes accountability and resolves these issues appropriately, I will gladly remove this post, as I have no desire to criticize anyone unfairly. My wife, a registered nurse, complained of some seemingly unmotivated staff but never said anything was unprofessional or remotely dangerous. And the facility, I imagine, isn't the Taj Mahal of surgery centers but I would recommend this facility to anybody based on my experience.
