Came here for a team work dinner (a larger group) and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Our host was hilarious and so entertaining. He checked in on us multiple times and The food was delicious (loved the hot, fresh, garlicky bread) and they even gave us a free dessert. I ordered the vegetarian fettuccine that came with truffle, mushrooms, and spinach and it was absolutely delectable. Would recommend the gelato and chocolate cake for dessert! read more

SO good! We sat at a table next to the windows on a beautiful night so the windows were open and it was such a nice vibe. Wonderful, friendly service and incredible food, we both finished our plates and would have gone back to try other dishes if we had more time in the city. While originally stopping in for just a quick cocktail we decided to stay for dinner because we were so impressed with the beautiful atmosphere & generally such an authentic feel to the place. First of all I have to say the manager, Benito, was so accommodating & did everything he could to make sure we had the best possible experience. Whatever he is being paid it's not enough & should be doubled immediately. We ended up ordering a Pizza & the Spaghetti. Both were served hot, fresh & in a timely manner all while being some of the absolute best Italian food we've ever had. Great food, great service, fair prices in a beautiful setting in the historic Gamla Stan. Next time in Stockholm we will come back, probably more than once. read more

This place has tremendous charm starting with the genuine Italian host who made us feel right at home. His energy level is off the charts in the best way possible. Located in gamla stan this place serves quite authentic and tasty Italian food. We started with the pizza as a shared appetizer and then followed with the pasta and garlic bread. After being in Sweden for a couple of weeks to the south I have been craving a good Italian restaurant. This one fit the bill and also a great location in Old Town near the Palace. As the name states, the place is like stepping into an art gallery to see his works. The food and selections are very good and service was excellent, which is hard to find around here. Stopped in here for lunch the other day. Tourists beware that wine at this location (and most others in Scandinavia) is about $20USD per glass! I had the mushroom tortelloni and it was delicious! There were about 10 of them on the plate and they were large enough to be considered ravioli. So delicious! I also had the mozzarella salad and the cheese was great but the tomatoes were not ripe. I don't think they have much fresh produce though, so I was not surprised just a little disappointed. The service was extremely slow and our waitress walked by several times looking at our empty plates without stopping to give us the bill. We were here for about 2 hours and saw several groups come and go. I think she may have felt uncomfortable with the small language barrier. We could have been in and out in about an hour. We had the pleasure of Thonos (I hope that is how you spell his name) completely making our last dinner visiting the wonderful city of Stockholm one we will never forget. The food had great portions, and he set us up in a private section with a lovely layout so we could enjoy what felt like an Italian dinner. We will definitely be back and we would recommend this place to anyone visiting Stockholm. Risotto and fettuccini were the dishes we ordered. The risotto was average for an Italian restaurant. There were a decent amount of shrimp, scallops and one piece of lobster tail. The food deserves about 2/5 stars. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't horrible. The service gets 1. We waited for a while to be seated even when the restaurant wasn't full. Our order took over an hour to be brought to us. The restaurant is beautiful. It's located in old town Stockholm and it attempts to fulfill a very Italian atmosphere. Don't eat here! I ordered the tortellini and it was over cooked. Immediately I returned it and said that I didn't want it. At the end of the dinner they packaged the meal and said that I had to pay for it. They would not remove it from the bill. I need to put a disclaimer to start with as I wouldn't have chosen this place to eat at were it my decision, but I'm attending a course in Stockholm this week and this place was booked for the course dinner - and turning down a two course meal free of charge is just, well...stupid. The location along Västerlånggatan in Old Town is of course very beautiful, but it also does put a bit of fear in a customer as my experience is that several of the "Västerlånggatan dining joints" are classic tourist traps. Though is Michelangelo an exception to the rule? No. Not by a longshot. If anything, they fit right into that formula and let me get down to business why. When walking in, the first thing that greets us is an uppish waitress that just nonchalantly points at a table that's booked for our group. We sat down at a table for eight, and some other people had already arrived and sat down at another table. We were given some menus (quite worn and old) to have a look at the drinks (this we payed for ourselves). To those of you who frequently read my reviews or what I write about wine know that I'm not at all keen on Italian wines. Though benefit of a doubt and all, I opted for a glass of La Gateau Bartenura Valpolicella 2008 to get something with some body and tannins. It was sorely lacking both. No lingering aftertastes or tertiary notes, acidic, plain, tart - just bad. When the main course came I had ordered a charcoal grilled tournedous medium rare with roasted potatoes that came with a serving of bearnaise sauce, chianti wine sauce, sautéed cabbage, tomatoes and baked red onion. This, I must say, was a really tasty dish. The meat was really good and nicely cooked (though lacking both salt and pepper but that was taken care of) as well as really good saues and vegetables. Some other in our company had a salmon dish and they were also happy with their food. Some found their tournedous to be slightly over cooked, which was a shame. For dessert I had opted for a tiramisu as it really doesn't get any more Italian than a tiramisu. But what I was served shouldn't even be called a tiramisu but a mess. It was more liquid than creamy, the grated chocolate on top was some sweet chocolate that didn't provide any tartness, and the coffee soaked savioardi biscuits had no structure but only wet and soggy. I only had a few spoons and put it aside. Truthfully? Calling that a tiramisu is an absolute disgrace to everything Italian. The service is sloppy and unattentive, and together with the food nothing here is really worth neither your time and definitely not your money. Their only saving grace from a 1-star rating is the main course that stood out as something nice. Though the overall experience I could just as easily have been without. read more

One of the most horrible places to have food. There are much better Italian restaurants close by. Firstly the staff does not really care about its customers. Out server did not seem interested in even asking what we would like to drink. We had to actually call her to order our food. Any time she would get she would disappear behind. And after ordering dinner it took almost one hour to bring us a risotto and a lasagna. At one point me and my colleague wanted to leave without having our dinner. Once the dinner was brought, the risotto was so shitty to taste that I felt being a non Italian, I could cook better risotto than that. It was extremely salty and rice did not seem cooked at all. It was as if it was made in a microwave. After trying to eat that horrible dinner I thought maybe I can have desert and fill my stomach, but the waitress did not seem to have any interest in even asking whether we would like to have any. Had luck to find a table for 6 right before the dinner rush. I ordered the fettuccine maestro and it was fantastic! I wiped the bowl clean with bread. Service was quick and friendly. Food came out within a few minutes. Homemade pasta was fresh. Only negative comment would be that the bread was not Italian and server took away our bread basket as we were eating without asking. We asked for the same server to bring us a basket and he did so immediately. He seemed embarrassed. I would come back to this restaurant. read more
