For an extensive menu there are very few gluten free dishes available if you don't want pizza, pasta or risotto. I ordered the pork belly with caramelised apple slices on red cabbage & served with a Jus as it had GF noted on it (gluten free). When I confirmed with the waitress the dish is gluten free she informed me the chef would have to omit the Jus. I was not impressed. The menu clearly stated this dish was gluten free with GF beside it & as far as I know a Jus is a reduced sauce not one thickened with flour. Had I not confirmed with the waitress I would have eaten the jus with unpleasant consequences.
Having said that, the crackling on the pork was perfectly cooked but the pork itself was on the dry side. It would definitely have benefited from a sauce. It also could have done with a little bit more on the plate apart from the cooked shredded red cabbage the pork sat on. read more
