I don't know why having a hobby has to be so darn expensive. But I guess if you love what you are doing then you're gonna pay for it. I like Michaels because they are open on Sunday. That's the only day I get out of the house w/o hubs and do what I want. Also they always have what I'm looking for. And sometimes they have stuff I didn't know I was looking for. This place is often mentioned in the same breath as Hobby Lobby, but I don't see how. Hobby Lobby (see my review here on Yelp!) is waaaaay cooler. This place is okay, if you're a blue-haired female octogenarian. It reeks of wicker in here and there are fake decorative flowers everywhere. There's really not anything wrong with this place, it's just not my particular cup of Ensure (See what I did there?)...I am super pumped however, about the incoming Guitar Center (grand opening February 21st!) right next door to this place. I had an emergency last minute gift I had to get, and Michael's was the only place in Shreveport and Bossier that carried it and was open. While I was there I noticed that they had everything your artsy friends could want. For the creative person Michael's is a one stop shop that has everything they could want. read more

Staff were rude !!!! flat out ignoring me at the register. I stood there for SEVERAL minutes while they chatted!!! And at the next register, the other employee wasn't busy whatsoever AND seen what was going on, BUT waved on the next person in line behind me !!!!! read more

I love the framing shop at Michaels. Kimberly and Kathy are very helpful and knowledgeable. Kathy was even able to repair a broken custom frame. I have only had great experiences at this framing shop over the years. I can tell that they are short staffed, and hope that management will hire another person, but the customer service and professionalism are just excellent. read more

The framing manager needs real work with her customer service skills and in communication with customers and her staff. Came to pick up my order a week after it was supposed to be ready and it still wasn't done and what was done was done wrong. Wasn't dry mounted, wasn't even put together, and even the two mat openings were not cut as discussed. $55 I was charged for this. She wouldn't give me a refund without a cc receipt so thankfully I found it but She had gone to get the store manager who was annoyed that he had to come because he was apparently more concerned with doing interviews. I love Michaels in theory, but the truth is that it's just a major hassle. I love the coupons and great deals I get, but it takes forever for this store to restock anything, which is majorly inconvenient for me. I will check the in-store availability online before going to make sure it's in stock, and then I get there and it's out. This has happened repeatedly, and it takes 3+ weeks for the store to restock and even then, it's just 1-2 of the item. I did an in store pickup yesterday only to get home and realize that my product had been opened and pieces were missing, which had to be obvious when the worker bagged it since it was not in a box. Some of the workers are generally nice and helpful, but most of the time they all have a major attitude which just makes the already irritating experience of never being able to find what I need worse. read more
