Love Love Love Michael's! I come here often for art supplies, birthday supplies & holiday decor. Hobby Lobby is also great, but I think Michael's has the edge this year for Holiday decor... I was just in getting some more birthday wrap for a late gift that didn't arrive on time & found so much more OuiOui. This year for Halloween, they have some very cool decor. They call it "disco decor" hahahahhahahahah. The giant "Disco Decor" classic candy corns are so pop art, very cool indeed. Who thinks a Giant Classic Candy corn will make a great disco ball is a genius OuiOui. Giant Disco Decor Candy Corn me baby! Very groovy without the calories. Winners circle all the way OuiOui. I went to this location while in the area for training. It was a Tuesday around 6 p.m. when i walked in. The store was empty, a mess, and the employees were standing around the checkout counter, just having a personal conversation about life. I did spend too much time in the store. Found what I was looking for, grabbed it, and headed to the checkout line. No one in line. The employees were still holding the conversation and waited to finish it before calling me up so I could check out. Okay, rude. Then, when i am checking out, the cashier was not pleasant at all, made no attempt to ask if i found everything i was looking for or to even say hello. I swiped my card and left. No thank you for shopping here or have a nice day. I am so grateful that a) i have a great customer service bone and would never treat someone like this and b) that i do not live in this area and have to consider this location my local Michael. I guess it is hard to find good people that actually want to work and be friendly to the people that shop in your store, hence allowing you to have your job. read more

My wife and I have all of our framing work done at this location. The staff at this store is always very friendly, professional and accommodating. Without exaggeration we have had 23 pictures framed and love each and every one of them. On my last visit to have framework done I mentioned that we had to put our beloved dog down as he was suffering from cancer, when I returned to pick up my frame job, there was a card from "your Michaels family" this touched our hearts more than they know, and just solidifies why we choose to come to this store consistently. Recently went to this Michael's with my S/O literally to grab 2 items. We quickly got the items we needed and went to the front to join the line. Only to find a line of 20 shoppers and 2 cashiers. We assumed the line would run through quickly, but both customers had returns and the associates couldn't process them. So management had to be called which took around 5 minutes. The one customer refused to take her refund in cash, so that was not really on the employees. But there was no sense of urgency or any level of consideration for shoppers, it ended up taking 20 minutes for us to buy our 2 items and leave. Both of the associates were quite young and seemed to be inexperienced, imo it would make sense to have a manager or someone with more experience close by to help out & resolve any issues like the one that came up. I would also note, stock levels in this location are really inconsistent which can be annoying if you are searching for something in particular. read more

Was followed around the store like was criminal - it had been raining, was bit wet, shoes wet, but nothing to run from nor think theft - returning everything got from there Monday. Was to get a call from the big concerned supervisory team there, but no one ever bothered. Place will be gone soon really anyway. read more

Got an estimate to replace the glass in a picture from the shop in Michaels. 6 inches by 17 inches. Estimate was $46. I asked twice if the decimal place was off, and was told no. Went to AA Glass and got non-glare for less than $4. read more

Lots of artsy craftsy stuff for all of your needs. Good place to go to find some things to keep yourself or kids entertained. This store is pretty organized...layout is easy to navigate and find things. Lots of cool things to look at in the discount bins. You can usually find cute things to use as Christmas stocking stuffers or birthday gift bag fillers. There are always coupons to use as well. read more

Michaels is one of the most popular art stores around (and I say this cause I personally don't know of any other art store with this much product lol), and has just a huge selection of supplies for all of your artsy fartsy needs. My girlfriend and I usually shop in a few couple specific locations: traditional media and framing. In traditional media, there's beginner supplies for those who wish to dabble in the (dark) arts, intermediate for those who are comfortable with their skills, and advanced who want to spend a pretty penny and repaint the Sistine Chapel. Anything you need - pastel, acrylic, watercolor - they probably have it. In the framing department, there's usually BOGO sales for home and platinum frames and there's a lot of sizes to choose from. The most important part is their custom framing where they frame just about anything. And their framing is for life, to preserve the piece. However, who you talk to also depends on what is defined as "everything". There's one woman there who absolutely refuses to go above and beyond her duties, giving a big fat no to sizes larger than the max (you will know when you encounter her). And then there are other employees in framing who are much more willing to compromise. Pricing at Michaels is a little high, but at the same time yourself purchasing quality art supplies you generally don't see at super stores such as Walmart. I personally enjoy coming to browse even though I don't do arts and crafts. read more

Their yarn selection is pretty underwhelming. Not the array of options I was assuming I'd find. If u are looking for something to doll up furniture, like knobs, they don't have it. However they do have about 4 aisles filled with fake flowers, if that's your jam. I went in expecting the Home Depot of crafts and basically found Walmart. If don't live nearby, it's not really worth the trip. read more

Christine A. impressed me at the customer check out, I thought my purchase would be in for a long wait as I scanned over several full carts with small items. However, that was not the case, a loud voice beckoned me to step forward with definition. This, I was told, was new Michael's associate, Christine A., "ready for work!" Christine was positive and seemed happy to be working for the company which has a long and far-reaching history. Items that I purchased were handled quickly, with glassware bagged wrapped for transportation protection, my teacher discount scanned. As a long term customer dealing mostly with arts and crafts and a retiree, it's good to see an energetic and ambitious young person, perform so well. Nevertheless, the mature individual also has a place which can be secured in the world of today. Michael's you have served your clientele well with both young and older staff to balance the wisdom of experience and the strength and quickness of the novice. read more

Ugh... can't speak for their overall store, but the framing department is a joke. Gave my item to them and paid well over $500. I was told two weeks to have it back. Day came and I got no call. I called them and was told it would be ready by five at night. I arrived to the store after five thrifty, I had to stand behind a women for ten minutes as we were ignored. I should've known something was up when the person in front of me was mad that they cut her art. I asked for my piece and was told it was not ready. I asked why and was told that they were, "busy at the counter." I informed this person that I had called to confirm it would be ready. They replied that they know, but they'll, "get it done tonight." And asked me to come back at nine at night. I felt uneasy about the fact that they had my picture for two weeks and it seems they were doing a rush job. When I returned the picture was wrapped all up, upon opening it there were marks, unaligned matting and clear blue spots along the border and under my picture. To say I was disappointed is the understatement of the year! read more

The one star rating is high, but that's as low as you can go! My husband and I ordered 4 custom framed pieces back in November of last year. We received only one of them on time. The second one we got two months later in January and the last two took seven months and are still incomplete. We went in to pick up all the parts and will be putting it together ourselves! The customer service here straight up sucks and there is no one running their framing department. read more

I prefer Blick, but when i dont have the time to drive over to tamoa I come here. They are pretty over priced, which is why their coupons work for them. The coupons get you in the store and plus they still make a profit since they over price so much. I wouldnt care so much about it being over priced if there were actually people there who didnt mind helping you find things in a store. I used to work at publix and when people asked me for where a product is, i walked them there. I didnt just say "aisle 22 in the back" and frown and walk away. Even people at walmart walk me to the product. So if the customer service were a lottle better, id actually give more stars. read more

Don't come here super often bc I'm not some hands on artsy crafts person but every once in a while I'm here... came in at 8:30pm and was helped by several different employees who were all pleasant and happy to assist me. First time there. More pleasant than JoAnn's Fabric was. Saturday after Thanksgiving Michaels was packed with people. Store sections clearly labeled - I needed one kind of obscure item and found it more quickly than I expected. Checkout lanes were all open - five registers - and even though the line for people trying to checkout curved around three times, it moved along quite speedily ( is that a word?). Employees friendly and knowledgeable. I gotta say though, I heard more than once in line customers were told the 50% off coupon only applies to regular priced items which were almost obsolete, everything is "on sale." I would go to this store again. read more

My recent trip to Michaels was a huge success. I was in search of an 18x24 frame for an unwrapped canvas I had received. I recently learned of and downloaded the Michaels app so that I always have their coupons on me. There was a 50% off coupon good on regular priced items that encouraged me to look for the frame here. I found a gorgeous $59.99 frame to use my coupon on. I was thrilled to get it for $30. What happened next made my night. The cashier told me I couldn't use my 50% off coupon because it was already on sale for $29.99 (there weren't any signs on the shelf..but it was a Saturday night right before sales change). I told her that was cool since that was half off the original price anyhow. She then told me she had another coupon for me. She scanned a 25% off coupon that worked on sale items and handed me a second copy to use later! So, my frame was only $22! It is rare that you get a cashier that is willing to help you out like that. This trip definitely reminded me why I love Michaels so much. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAMING CENTER!!!!! I had 3 items worked on by the frame shop, and there were major issues with all 3 of them. I will NEVER take anything to Michaels framing again, and will recommend that everyone I know avoid this place for any pieces of art they even remotely care about. The first item, a one-of-a-kind photograph purchased in Australia, was bent and creased in the process of re-matting it, and the part of the original frame backing with the artists's signature was discarded, after I specifically asked for it to be saved (that was all blamed on an employee in training- awesome). The second item had 2 hairs on the mat and had to be re-opened when I came to pick it up. The third item, an antique watercolor, was re-framed and re-matted. The Framing Manager (Dylan?), who was very sympathetic about the first error (and critical of "his employees" who "screwed up" the photograph), kindly upgraded the order to acrylic at no charge (I specifically said I didn't want the conservation glass, because of the blue light reflection). He personally called me to let me know my last piece was ready, and when I came to pick it up, the mat was creased and wrinkled in the corner and it had been framed with conservation glass. It was laughable how bad it looked. Paige, who seems to be the only competent person associated with the framing center, saved the day and re-did it all. I did end up arguing for some discounts, but it was no consolation after 5 trips to Michaels, and some permanently damaged art. You get what you pay for, and I learned never to trust art with sentimental value to a Michaels. You never know who is working on your item and a discount doesn't remedy damage that can't be undone. read more
