Michaels is a great store to come to, when your just in the mood to browse around. They have a great seasonal selection of all kinds of items, for every holiday, months in advance. And they usually seem to always offer lots of deals from 25% to 40% off items. I like to come here to stock up on candles, Halloween decorations, fall decorations, and Christmas decorations. They have many rows of all kinds of arts and crafts too. You can visit here and easily spend an hour inside. Plus, there is plenty of parking for this location. This is a fun store to just pick up random items for your home too. Highly recommended. read more

2 weeks ago, I took a 50X32 sized Marvel Avengers poster to Michael's to be framed. Unfortunately, I got a call that it was damaged and wrinkled because of the heat of the dry mount machine and glossy/plastic paper the poster was made of. I was initially upset, but I never take frustration out of on staff, so I went to see the manager and they were so apologetic and you could tell they genuinely made a mistake. They offered us a full refund for the damage and I thought that would be it. They then also offered to finish the job for free! They salvaged the poster as best they could, and framed it the same day. I picked it up and I am so impressed by their professionalism and dedication. Thank you Juan and Cindy! read more

This Michaels store is very close to home so it is my go to place when I need craft supplies. I came here for many of the things I needed for my wedding last year. Found many of the things I needed with ease as the store has always been very organized each time I've visited. Things are a little on the expensive side but that's just Michales. Giving 3 stars because Zoe's customer service was top notch... however the manager Arianna or Adrianna lacked basic customer service skills and was intentionally rude after store associates messed up my in store pick up order. I ordered ten 11ounce mugs for sublimation in the color white for pick up. The order was fulfilled in a matter of 30 minutes, which was great. Or so I thought. When I received notification to pick my order up, I headed to this location and was handed a bag of silver glitter mugs. I was told well you can cancel the order if it's not what you expected. Kai, the rudest person I've met in a michael's literally told me we'll just ask the manager for a refund. So I informed her that my order was incorrect. I showed her my michael's app and she said idk talk to a manager. When the manager came over she acted confused about why I was upset. So stated very clearly, I ordered 10 white mugs and I have 10 glitter mugs. Her response was so just get a refund. I then informed Arianna or Adrianna that the proper response would be" so sorry your order was confused or messed up, all we can offer is a refund" instead of her rolling her eyes and telling me she doesn't know what to tell me. Something told me to go and check the aisle for the white mugs, and also a store associate Zoe showed me where they were, she witnessed the entire altercation. She was very helpful and even apologized for the unpleasant attitude from her manager. I found all 10 mugs and proceeded to do an exchange with Kai, who did not assist me AT ALL. She watched me transfer the wrong glitter mugs out of the bag and put the white mugs in the shopping bag, I told her thank you so much for your help... despite not receiving her help, and with a disgusting rude attitude she replied have the day you deserve Miss Lydia. I plan to escalate this because I am a frequent shopper at Michaels and I'm also a mom of teenagers. Please retrain these young women so that they are better equipped to work in retail. I came in and this place was packed since they were having a lot of holiday décor sales after I passed the holiday section since this wasn't the reason I was here I was surprised by how well stocked this store is. I need a shadow box and ended with more than I needed since they were buy one get one free and on top of that I was able to use one of their coupons on their site. I was afraid I wasnt going to be on line forever since the store was so busy but I have to say the lines ran fast and I wasn't on line to pay more than 5 minutes. read more

This store is getting better as time goes on. It used to be hard to find anything & staff was non-existent, but on my most recent trip here this past week I was able to find everything I need. I had been on the hunt for a wood wine crate for the Little Prince's school project (building Permanent City & he is assigned to build a bookstore!) & had been to numerous wine stores & restaurants, but was told each time that they don't have them. I finally gave in & gave up & decided to just buy one, but the online prices (Amazon, etc.) were way too high. Luckily the day before I went to Michaels, I received a postcard in the mail telling me about a new line that they have called "Make Market" which includes lots of raw naturally made items such as wood, raffia, chalkboard, denim, cork etc. for all of your DIY projects. The postcard also included a 50% off one item coupon, so even better. I headed over to Michaels & low & behold they had plenty of options to choose from. I ended up selecting a plain pine wine-like crate with handles on the sides, for $13.99 - with my 50% off coupon, I paid a whopping $7. Had I known that 3 weeks earlier, I could have saved myself a ton of time & effort. Nevertheless, all that matters is that I got what he needed & he was thrilled to take it to school the next day. Staff are better than in the past, so ask if you can't find something. Frankly, they sell just about anything you could possibly need, from artificial flowers, baskets, holiday decorations, paint, fabric, yarn, raw wood items, as well as a huge framing section. I have been to this location several times and I must say they have some of the rudest people working there. I would highly suggest some customer service training. There is a woman that works in the frame section, I believe her name is Linda. I have had two horrible interactions with her. Just today I kindly approached her and said excuse me as she was looking at her computer. She looks up and responds, " What!" I ask her if there was a scanner to verify a price, because the section was filled with specials, but I was not sure if my frame qualified. She looked at me with a very annoying look and replies," the signs are there next to the frames just go look!" Wow, If this was the first time I would just think it was a bad day, but this is the second time in months that she has treated me this way. I will make it a point not to shop this location and I suggest if your reading this to do the same!! read more

The Forest Ave store in Staten Island is sadly under stocked in Arts, Media Media Craft items. Journaling supplies, paints, papers, things along these items - you will see the same thing over and over because they don't renew with out of stock or new items often. They spent more time on home decor ( the little that's there.) Michael's seems to forget they are a CRAFT store. The jewelry craft area - nothing, absolutely nothing...no natural stones, ever! More fake beads than anything else. What's a designer going to do with those? Please redo your marketing here on the Island ... we count too! read more

I love Michaels for their DIY art supplies etc... They have pretty much everything you need. However, I'm not a fan of their prices for home accessories. I feel like the price is jacked up and then there is usually a sign with 50-75% off of the org price. For these types of items I'd much rather to go Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, Big Lots and Tjmaxx. read more

After dealing with the stupidly tiny M's in Manhattan for my usual crafty shopping needs, a Zipcar outing that included a stop at this location was marvelous. It's a normal sort of M's location: big, laid out in chunks by product type. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I am tacking on a star for the fact that when the checkout line got to be about 4 people long (with 1 cashier open), a member of management stepped right up to open another line. I'm so happy that Michaels openned in Bayonne. This is a newer store and is well stocked with all the arts and craft supplies your imagination desires. I can honestly stay a good 2 hours here without being bored. Since it located in a mini mall, parking is ample and the boys can go get their haircuts and Lowes next door to do more "manly" things while I loose myself in endless combinations of rubber stamps, sparkle and textured paper. read more

This is your standard Michaels store. It really is a toss-up between Michaels and A.C. Moore, in my book. They both seem the same. I've come here for my crazy project needs. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that it's hard to find employees that are walking the aisles because I usually have questions and can't find things. Well stocked store with friendly staff, didn't come across too many staff members through out the store all the time I've spent there but they were definitely someone to assist you if you needed it. I must say this place has the cleanest public restroom I have ever been too. The only thing I must say is I was kind of bummed when after i completed my purchase I saw a little sign next to the register saying if I had given my email I could of received 20% off my entire purchase, which would of been great. Terrible custom framing department. I ordered $2000 worth of custom framing. They forgot glass on one of my piece, I had to drive 30 miles to take it back for glass to be added. Then, when I went to pick up few other pieces glass on one of them was broken. Like how can you email a customer that something is ready when it is not. Also the framing associate is super rude she doesn't know how to calm a customer who is allowed to be upset. Instead she blames the customer for her departments mistake. read more

I have been in many stores because i am very creative and crafty. I love making things for people and myself. I have been in the Bayonne, NJ store and have met a wonderful girl named Roxanne. She always helps my friends and I. She has knowledge of everything going on in the store and has always directed my friends and I to get what we needed. Even when the store is crowded, she excuses herself and is back to us within a minute or so. She is always busy and has a very positive attitude. More people should be like her!!!!!!! The woman who was the framing manager spent a lot of time with me and helped me get the best prices and the look I was going for.
