I don't often write reviews, but Dr. Festa deserves all the praise in the world, and I want…read moreeveryone to know it. I've been a patient of his since I was in high school, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that he is one of the most exceptional people I've ever met. Finding a doctor you can be completely, 100% open with is rare. Dr. Festa has this incredible ability to be a supportive, caring friend while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. I feel comfortable enough to talk to him about absolutely anything, and I know I will be met with zero judgment. He is a safe space, and in the medical world, that is priceless. I trust him with my life. His level of knowledge is astounding. I am constantly amazed at how educated he is. There has never been a single topic, concern, or question I've brought to him that he didn't have extensive, thorough knowledge on. He is meticulous and thorough in everything he does, ensuring no stone is left unturned. But the real reason I am writing this review goes deeper. A little over two years ago, my life was in shambles. I was struggling with a history of substance abuse and felt like I was at rock bottom. I went back to Dr. Festa, and he has been an unwavering pillar in my life ever since. He didn't just treat my physical health; he supported my entire well-being. He has helped guide me to a place I truly never thought I would see. Today, I am happy, I am sober, and I am actively meeting goals that once seemed impossible. On top of the outstanding care, the entire practice is a dream to work with. The office is beautiful and always perfectly clean. The front desk workers are phenomenal--they are always on top of whatever I need, from prescriptions to scheduling. Speaking of which, I have never had an issue getting an appointment; Dr. Festa always has availability. And so never have to wait more than 10-15 minutes max! I've also never had a problem with my insurance, as they take many different providers. I am so profoundly grateful for Dr. Festa. I actually look forward to my monthly appointments. He is the gold standard for what a Primary Care Physician should be. I recommend him and his practice to everyone and anyone in search of a PCP or one of the many other specialties he offers.

He has managed my CHF and performed the catherization and stent placements after I suffered an MI 21 months ago. Clearly, since I'm here to write this review, he did the right things. In my case I was fairly impressed with our first encounter. I had actually stopped by his office a couple of days prior to my first appointment to pick up those forms all docs make new patients fill out and was standing at the reception desk when he came out for something. I must have looked pretty bad at that point as he took one look at me, ask why I was there and when I said I was just there to pick up some forms he was like "I don't think so." Next thing I knew I was in an exam room hooked up to an EKG and after that in the hospital. I would hope most docs were that competent but alas, I know that to not be true. After a 30 year career in EMS and 20 some years of dealing with diabetes, suffice to say I have had a LOT of dealings with doctors over the years. Thankfully this is one of the good ones. He is fairly direct and to the point but still manages a friendly air, and if you do not understand something or ask a question he will take whatever time is needed to answer your question and do so without falling into the trap of talking down to his patients and do so without giving you the impression that he would rather be doing almost anything else but answering said questions. And perhaps most importantly, I have never gotten the impression that he was just trying to get out of the room and on to the next patient in the medical assembly line, as can be the case in some practices. I have found his office staff to be pleasant and helpful and easy to deal with when it comes to scheduling appointments and honest about when there will be delays. If I had to come up with a negative I would have to say that a couple of times there have been rather long waits in his office but I would have to say that is the exception rather than the rule as it has happened only twice since I became a patient of his. Most of the time I'm in a room within about 10 or 15 minutes of an appointment time. I have also had a couple of tests (an echocardigram and venous doppler) done in his office and on both occasion I found the technicians to be courteous, accommodating and competent. Clearly, if anyone is in need of the services of a cardiologist in the South Bergen/Passaic County area, I would highly recommend Dr. Szwed.

Instead of explaining right off the bat that I would need two separate appointments the woman answering the phone starts telling me what they do and do not do there, although I have been there before. We had a whole convoluted conversation about what the doctor would and would not do, just because I assumed the visits could be combined for efficiency, at the end she then tells me they don't do those appointments at the same time. It's fine that they didn't combine the appointments, but I still need both appointments and she just needed to explain that or offer me a double time slot. Anyway I'm not dealing with that, I can't be the first patient that ever needed to separate visits and needed clarification.

I have had to tell too many doctor (back in the 1980s and '90s) that *I* pay their salary, whether it is via insurance or not, and I am not paying them to be treated poorly. My time is JUST as important at theirs. Enter Changebridge. I have never had to wait, they have called me if an appointment could not happen or had an incredible wait (very, very infrequently, but it happens), I have never seen a pharmaceuticals rep in there ever (granted, it is no longer cricket for them to offer a free trip to Hawai'i any longer, but that's fine with me. My doctor is Dr. Frank Iannetta, and he has been so for the time I have gone there. I love him; he took a lot of time to learn about adult-onset muscular dystrophy (DM Type II), always offers advice, looks into any question I have, not religious and always has a laugh with me over so many different issues outside of medicine. He listens, chats, but is serious and totally qualified to help with anything. Another excellent quality is that Changebridge has relationships with so many other types of specialty medical practices that I have gotten audiology, podiatry, cardiac, pain management and so many other kinds of help. I take almost no medications (the list is 6 now, not 10 and far less than the amounts I've been on). I also go to PT three times a week, and I feel just INCREDIBLE! I go primarily to Dr. Iannetta, but any doctor there is just wonderful. My husband and I both go; he really likes to go to Dr. Pallay, who is very medically knowledgeable, but he is focused on the medicine and not a "chat" kind of doc; I love Dr. Iannetta because he is the exact opposite. Both kinds as well as everyone in-between is right for many patients. None of the doctor or nurses are any the less gifted in medicine. I know all the staff (for the most part) and speak to them all with delight. I enjoy every person there. They all bring something special to the experience. They do a lot for any patient. I cannot recommend them enough. I would not even know where to begin with how much they have done for me over...I think more than 30 years. We have lived in Parsippany now for 32 years. Before that in Fairfield, so really, I don't know. But I am deliriously happy with every visit there. You will be, too.

I think what actually brought me here the first time was when I decided "I haven't had a physical in awhile. I should go get one." and looked around for doctors. I discovered that nowadays, you're hard-pressed to find individual doctors, so I went for the clinic, and CMA seemed to have good reviews. Since then, I've had a few physicals, gone in a few times with illnesses. Every time, I have been treated well, promptly, curing whatever I came in with and helping with whatever they find. So like today? Just the physical? They reassured me most of my vitals were fine, pointed to the one that was a little out of whack, and presented suggestions for how to fix it. Sat patiently with me to discuss until we were on the same page. VERY friendly and thorough. And that even goes to the desk staff. I have never had a bad experience with any person at CMA, never had a misdiagnosis or the wrong meds. Nothing. OK, a couple of times I got a charge for the blood work they did, but this time I think we've learned, tell them up front it's diagnostic and not preventative. Again, even the separate-building blood lab (which I think moved into a new, larger space) is friendly and helpful. #CMA4EVA
