Dr. Tirgan is the best doctor ever. If you have a keloid and would to remove it and you got some extra money to remove it. DO IT!!!!! I wanted to remove mine really really bad because it affected my self esteem and Dr Tirgan made it happen for me. My process started in 2017. So 3 years ago. Background story: I live in FL and Dr. Tirgan is in NYC. So everytime I had an appointment I would go to NYC to get it done. The process: I book an appointment and took my flight to NYC. His office is very easy to find tbh so that is no issue. When you get there, you get seated and wait for your turn. He is always pretty packed up. You get in the room. Lay down and he starts his cryotherapy process. At first you dont feel nothing but after him putting it on your ears after a while, you start feeling this weird sensation. The hurtful process starts after the session. I personally had headaches afterwards, really bad headache. The ear would bleed and peel off also but nothing really bad. I never got infected or never got a bad experience through my process and I made a lot of research abt him and cryotherapy before going and spending tons of money. I stopped everything at around in April 2018 because i was satisfied with my ear. But now, im looking at it and I will probably start again because I want it fully FLAT. I feel very lucky to have found Dr.Tirgan for my keloid treatment! After a lot of trial and errors going to other doctors, Dr.Tirgan was able to effectively treat my keloid on my ear and I highly recommend him to my friends and family. Please listen to me carefully. Dr. Tirgan may have kind eyes and a kind face, and he will convince you that he has the best keloid treatment above anyone else. In fact, this is his "scheme." He will sit you down, pretend that he cares about what you're going through, and then tell you that cryoshape (or whatever treatment) is the best way to get rid of your keloids. He will take your money, use cryoshape on you (using liquid nitrogen to supposedly freeze off the keloid), and I promise you that it will not work. It will only make your keloid darker and more pigmented. When I pointed out how disappointed I was in the results, he shrugged with cold icy eyes and said, "Well, there's not really a cure for keloids. Try compression therapy?" Dr. Tirgan did nothing but make my Keloid bigger and more uncomfortable. I had a previous Keloid that a Dermatologist treated with steroid injections, after a single injection the inch and half wide keloid flatten out. It took almost a year but it flattened out. Lets jump to me losing my insurance and finding this guy on google, I set an appointment and wanted to get a treatment on a half of inch keloid that was underneath the one that has been flattened by ONE steroid injection by a licensed dermatologist. I explained to Dr. Tirgan that my body reacted well to the steroid injections and thats what I wanted. Well long story short he sold me on cryothearpy freezing my half of inch keloid that ballooned up to 3 inches wide and now over a half inch raised on my chest. Obviously I was horrified and went back very upset. He verbally told me over the phone that I can come back and get a free steroid treatment. I went back and that generous offer was off the table and I had a bill for $150.00. I went back 5 more times and nothing the Keloid was the same size after a year and a half of steroid injections from this guy. I just went to another licensed Dermatologist last month and received a steroid injection, after one month my Keloid that Dr. Tirgan cause to balloon up is now half the size. I don't know what he is injecting but it can't be the same dosage or strength that these other dermatologists are injecting. Last complaint, after my Keloid ballooned up I was very upset and could barley look at my self in the mirror, this guy tries to sell me on some lab rat testing experiment. Telling me that it could cause cancer. If I was a weaker person at that time I might have taken it. This guy is a hack, stay away. Hello, I am writing because I am extremely pleased with my results. I had was treated for keloids on both sides of my jaw. One 1/2 inch the other about 2 inches. After 2 weeks majority of both keloids have fallen off. I am sure that I will need to continue with a few steroid shots to keep them from returning. But they are completely gone. I have read the various mixed reviews prior to having the procedure and was welcoming any improvement. Fortunately, that is exactly what I received, a huge improvement. He's a charlatan. He overcharges and doesn't treat things properly so you'll return again and again. I dropped 3k on "treatments" for scars (aka steroid injections) and nothing took. I came in today for a keloid removal consultation. I walked up to the receptionist and was greeted with a very dry "hello". I thought that was a bit strange but began filling out the forms anyway. I handed the clipboard back to receptionist and again received a dry "thanks". I thought to myself that this lady really requires customer service etiquette training. I waited awhile to see Dr. Tirgan. He was very upfront about the treatment plan. However, as he stated, treatment was not guaranteed and I will have to have approximately 3 treatments (which is understood). He then began to explain to me that each time I have a treatment, the costs will differ. I agreed and told him I will discuss it with my husband and contact the office if we agree to the treatment. I then walked up to the receptionist to ask for a write-up of the potential treatment costs. Before addressing my question, she asked me how would I like to pay for the $150 consultation fee. I told her that I was not aware that there was a consultation fee and that I would have to pay it today. She gave me a blank stare and looked up at me unaffectedly. I explained to her that the person I spoke with to schedule my appointment did not inform me of any consultation fee to me. It was also not stated in the email confirmation I received for my appointment today. She then responded "well, I wasn't the one that spoke to you". I was taken aback for a few seconds at her sly remark and replied "well, I guess I won't be coming here again then". She shrugged her shoulders and gave me a crooked smile as if she could careless. I had developed 2 large moles on my cheek about 15 years ago and have been very self-conscious about my appearance ever since. I even kept a beard to cover them up. I found Dr. Tirgan by chance, and I am extremely thankful I did. The procedure he conducted was simple, quick and uninvasive. In addition, the office envirnment was very inviting, and the Dr. spent time, was very attentive to my needs, and was just an extremely pleasant person to deal with. I had to go back for about 5 treatments, due to the size and depth of my moles. But now they are gone and I can still grow hair in that area of my face. Suffering from keloids can be a nightmare but Dr. Tirgan gave me hope! He is an expert in his field and understands infinitely more about keloids than standard dermatologists understand. I went to see Dr. Tirgan because a keloid had slowly developed following a minor surgery to "fix" a tiny scar on my face. The incision required only 3 stitches but not long after surgery, a bump began to form. The plastic surgeon who performed the initial surgery thought perhaps it "didn't heal right" and performed a second procedure to excise the scar tissue. This is exactly the opposite of how keloids should be treated (cutting a keloid often causes even more scar tissue to form) -- the keloid came back quickly and this time worse. The plastic surgeon performed yet another procedure as he thought that perhaps the incision site was infected but this was the wrong diagnosis. It was simply a keloid forming but the plastic surgeon didn't realize that was the case. The third time was not a charm and the keloid returned with a vengeance. Because the keloid was on my face and an angry bright red, my self-esteem plummeted over time because, after giving up on the plastic surgeon (who injected it month after month), I began to visit dermatologists but nothing worked. They all did their best and tried various injections, creams, etc. but the keloid just worsened. I began researching keloids and came to understand that keloids are unpredictable and often require slow, careful treatment to either get them under control or resolved completely. Because standard dermatologists do not work exclusively or intensively with keloids, they often don't know the best course of treatment which is why I sought a specialist, eventually deciding to see Dr. Tirgan. He patiently educated me about keloids and about the various treatment options. He dedicates his time to research for a cure and intimately understands the treatment options and limitations. Resolving my keloid has been a long process, (a little over a year) but, with Dr. Tirgan, the keloid slowly improved after each visit. I cannot recommend Dr. Tirgan enough. He is different than most doctors in that, while first and foremost being knowledgeable and competent, he is also patient and cares about the whole person and getting things right (even going so far as to respond personally to emails and to see me on a Saturday when he didn't want too much time to pass between visits.) I first went to Dr. Tirgan at the end of March 2015, to treat a keloid I had on my ear from a piercing. I was nervous at first, but Dr. Tirgan was very nice and helpful. He was very knowledgeable and more interested in actually assessing the best possible procedure for my keloid, as oppose to which would put the most money in his pocket. I think Dr. Tirgan's heart is in the right place and I hope he continues his keloid research because this is an area of medicine that has been highly ignored for too long because it primarily only effects people of color. I received treatment from him almost 2 years ago and it just wasn't effective. It's expensive, not covered under insurance, and not worth the trip across the state. I only went for one visit which cost $500 because of his initial visit fee. I just got the cryotherapy on my chest and back which does nothing. It turns the keloid red and uglier for a few months then it goes back to exactly how it was. I know the excuse will be because I didn't go back for additional treatment but I know my body and my intuition whole heartedly makes me believe that additional treatments wouldn't have made any difference and probably would have made me even more depressed if I had to spend more money, take more days off of work and travel across the state just for an ineffective procedure. Maybe he has had more success with ear keloids which are so easy to treat that people even treat themselves at home with a rubberband, but his method did nothing for my chest and back keloids. I went to Dr.Tirgen for help with a mole that plague me for 25 years. It was a big black mole in the middle of my forehead. Every doctor I would go and see would tell me that I would have to get it surgically removed and it would leave me with a dent and scar.
