So, John is writing this review: I first met Dr. Seiff when I was in the ER at Saint Rose Hospital in January of 2023 due to unrelenting pain in my lower back. I learned I had spondylolisthesis! I had been under the care of a chiropractor due to my lower back pain, but this was so incredibly paralyzing pain, I needed a wheelchair. The outstanding part of my history is that Dr. Seiff carefully and thoughtfully explained I needed PLIF posterior lumbar interbody fusion of my S1 to L5 vertebrae. Following the surgery and six weeks of PT, I returned to my active lifestyle! Fast forward to the summer of 2025 I was invited by my brother-in-law and nephew to quad ride in the back country of Southern Utah. Unfortunately, at 62 and a history of degenerative disc disease, I should have declined the offer. Well to make a long story short, it took a few months and the use of a cane and my stubbornness before I made an appointment to see Dr. Seiff again. I suffered a herniated disc of my L4, which required another emergency surgery, because I also had the onset of Cauda Equina Syndrome! That had a nightmarish sound to it! So, on October 8, 2025 I had another PLIF and I am the proud owner of new titanium rods, screws and a new bone graph for my L4 this time. In conclusion, I am profoundly thankful that Dr. Seiff has put my lumbar spine back together twice! I love this man for his professionalism and dedication to me and understanding the importance of returning to a healthy lifestyle! However, I will now act my age and forever avoid long back country quad rides, no more downhill skiing, and other over the top activities that might compromise my spine again. Great team. Dr Seiff's PA spent a good amount of time with me before Dr Seiff came in. He spent about 30 minutes with me explaining what is going on and the treatments and procedures we are considering. They are quick to respond and complete referrals and prior authorizations quickly and seamlessly. I did not have to do a thing. My husband was sent to Dr. Seiff for a "routine" procedure that required a 3 day hospital stay. I found this doctor to be quite rude in his explanation and dismissive. He spoke to us the in pre-op and told me he would come out after the procedure to discuss, he never came out to speak to me. My husband ended up with an infection after Seiff removed some tubing and ended up having to stay in the hospital for an additional 6 days. Not impressed. Wait time past appointment was 2 hours and the staff did not call to give appointment time before-hand, we had to call. Not very enjoyable to sit in a room for 2 hours wondering what's going on...thought you forgot about us. Then we learned that's just how you schedule people...cattle call grouping. The Dr may do great work...remains to be seen... but the organization of this clinic needs work. If you have options you need to look into them. Dr Seiff is THE choice for a neurosurgeon. Having neck back or low back surgery is no fun no matter if an orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon does it. But, when dealing with nerve pain coming from spinal problems, this is the Doctor to see. His expertise and skill are well worth the time sitting in the office! (No drs offices run on time). The staff are so kind and respectful and Cynda is Dr Seiff's PA also skilled and knowledgeable. They both take all the time needed to make each patient understand what will happen. Why would any doctor accept that a patient wait two and a half hours to see him? This is just a scheduling problem! When I asked the receptionist if this is always a two hour plus wait, she said yes! Like that was totally acceptable. Doesn't it seem you should NOT stack all these patients only to make them wait? It's absurd. At one point it was standing room only in the waiting room! This is a neurologist! There are people with walkers that can't even sit down. This is something that needs to be addressed. Fire your schedule or office manager, or institute a policy that the patient gets 50 dollars if the doctor cancels the appt since that is the case with the patient. Presented to dr. Seiff with broke c2 in my neck due to car accident.Original plan was to due immediate fusion surgery, but on the day of surgery he decided to wait and see. I was in a neck brace for three months..surgery was still an option. DR Seiff felt that a halo might heal the neck without surgery so I was in a halo for 6 months after that at at which time it was decided that I had improved and that the fusion surgery was not necessary. He went against all odds and took the conservative "waiting" approach and it worked.I am now out of the halo 6 months with my neck healed, no pain, no medication. I am more active now in my life than ever before..I appreciate the conservative approach..However painful and daunting to my lifestyle, his approach worked..Thank you, thank you to him and his staff.They were attentive and solutions oriented. appointment scheduled for 11:15am arrive at 10:45am waited in the waiting room until 12:45pm before calling me back to an available room was put in the room and nobody comes check on you it's now 1:50pm I go outside to see how much longer the wait is and informed the staff that I have to pick up my daughter from school at 2:30pm they told me to reschedule my appointment (which is one month out to reschedule) I waited 15 mins more and still no one came in I'm a very patient person and probably would have waited if I didn't have to leave but the staff was not helpful or caring at all does not keep you in the loop and after waiting 3 hours they offer to reschedule my appointment ( annoying and unacceptable ) I asked if I could pick up my daughter and come back and they said "NO" I can understand if this was a walk in but to schedule me for 11:15 and have me wait for this long is definitely not worth it! read more

My husband Corey Goldman was admitted to St Rose Sienna Heights sunday with a grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumor. He was stabilized and intubated in the ICU during the day at which time we met with our neurologist Dr Scott Sekol who exceeded our expectations in competence, caring, bedside manner and professionalism. Unfortunately we cannot say the same for the surgeon who was first assigned to us Dr Nagy. He did not bother to see my husband, nor speak with me. He only spoke with the nurse after she and I had not heard from him that evening. When Nurse Mary in the ICU at St Rose Sienna Heights finally reached him on the phone he told the nurse to take him off the vent immediately, discharge him send him home and see him in his office 2 days later for elective surgery, all of which would have killed him in my opinion. I was so shocked that a St Rose doctor would do such a thing that I told the hospital I did not feel safe leaving my husband's life in Dr. Nagy's hands, and I requested a second surgeon which Dr Sekol was able to provide, Dr Michael Seiff, the best surgeon this side of UCLA. He removed the tumor within 36 hours. Now my husband is home and starting chemo and radiation and a quality of life. Thank God and thank them! But no thanks to Nagy. read more

Dr Seiff is amazing!! I couldn't figure out what was going on with me and my PCP sent me to another Neurosurgeon after we did MRI's and it was a horrible appointment. The doc didn't listen to any of my symptoms and spent like 2 minutes with me. I have heard great things about Dr Seiff and was so excited when he agreed to take me. I was diagnosed with Chiari and Dr Seiff and his staff are wonderful. They sat and asked me a bunch of questions about my symptoms and Dr Seiff spent probably 20 minutes with me explaining the skull and brain to me and explained what happens during surgery. Explained recovery and possible complications. He was honest. The surgery was no joke but I can tell you I feel amazing and I am so thankful for Dr Seiff for giving me my life back. Dr. Michael Sieff is an amazing nero surgeon, I went to see him at his office with a lot of neurological based symptoms, that I had been living with for yrs and no one could seem to find why I was so sick at such a young age. After Dr. Seiff reviewed my MRI he came in and we went over my history. He never rushed me,not once. At the end he told me I had Chairi 1 malformation, the majority of people who have this suffer for yrs and are most ofter misdiagnosed until the find a doctor that is knowledgeable in the field of chiari. With everything I had going on he told me that I was a candidate for the surgery. he explained in great detail in plain English what would be involved. If you already know you need to see a neurosurgeon, go straight to Dr. Seiff. Six months ago, Dr. Seiff performed a double laminectomy (and more) on my lower spine (L3 through L5 and below). Prior to the surgery I was having near debilitating nerve pain in both legs - bad enough that simply standing up was painful. Today I am pain free. I found everything about Dr. Seiff to be top-notch and first-class, including his wonderful staff and assistants, who constantly communicated with and calmed a very nervous patient, me. The doctor was extremely careful and detailed in explaining everything, before and after the surgery, allowing me to understand totally what was going on. I want to stress that, if you are having pain in your head, neck, back, arms or legs, you need to see a neurosurgeon first. If you've already received a diagnosis from a different kind of practitioner, especially if it entails surgery, you need to get a second opinion from a neurosurgeon. In my case, another surgeon had already scheduled me for both an anterior and posterior fusion when I hit the pause button and went to see Dr. Seiff. It may be the smartest decision I ever made. Neurosurgeons are medical doctors with extremely rigorous advanced training. Dr. Michael Seiff is well-qualified, well-trained and very experienced.
