It's easier to get an appointment, they're quick and efficient and more reasonably priced than our precious one. We've only been here a few times over the years because our dog was relatively healthy. Unfortunately, she passed away a couple of weeks ago due to old age. We called our vet to arrange a private cremation. They were kind and patient to help us during this hard time. After a week, we got our pup back so she can be with us again. They handle it well and I appreciate them.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service received during my visit today…read more My experience was defined by a lack of transparency, unprofessional conduct, and a refusal to provide medical records. Last year, the Leptospirosis vaccine was $35. Today, I was presented with a bill for $135 a 300% increase. When I called one week ago to confirm the price, the staff reviewed my dog's file and explicitly quoted $35. Furthermore, I was charged $100 for Benadryl without any prior disclosure or consent. I was informed by a staff member that I should have been told to administer this at home prior to the appointment, to give my dog 12 mg of Benadryl at home , but no such communication occurred. Administering a shot first and revealing a massive surcharge afterward is predatory. When I requested a review of these hidden charges, the response was entirely unprofessional. Rather than addressing the billing error or the incorrect quote provided over the phone, the manager informed me that if I requested a refund for these undisclosed fees, my dog would be banned from the hospital. Using the withdrawal of medical care as a threat to force payment for unauthorized charges is unethical. Upon requesting my dog's medical records, the manager refused to provide them directly to me, stating they would only be sent to another veterinarian. Under California Code of Regulations § 2032.3, a veterinarian is required to provide a summary of the medical records or a copy of the records to the owner upon request. Refusing to hand over records Its not only unprofessional it is a violation of state regulations

I called Monrovia animal center and friendly receptionist answered and I was able to take kenzo in right away. Everyone is so friendly here, from the front desk to the techs. I was amazed at how fast they helped my baby feel better and with short notice makes me truly appreciate their service in helping pets in need. Thank you so much to everyone here! -Tien and Kenzo

I was so impressed with how quickly they helped us and how smoothly everything went. The doctor was amazing and made me feel like my dog was in the best hands. My dog had foxtails and needed surgery as well as an exam and ear cleaning. The entire experience from start to finish was handled with care and professionalism. What really stood out was how affordable it was. Everything including the exam, surgery, medicine, and ear cleaning came out to $544. That kind of pricing makes quality care accessible for regular people and I'm so thankful for that. Highly recommend this place. They truly care and it shows.

I'll be taking all 4 cats and husky to Dr. K now. From my experience with other vets and Dr. K, I can tell that Dr. K really cares about the pets, and it's not just another dollar sign in his eyes. He is very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain things to you. I don't feel rushed when I'm talking to him. Other vets I've talked to, I feel that they just want to give my pets treatment, and want me to leave asap so they can get to the next patient/$$$ in their pockets. I did not feel this at SGAH. My cat was in for surgery, and after I dropped her off at 8:00 AM, I didn't hear back all day, even past their closing time of 6:00 PM. I was worried that something may have gone wrong. I received a call a couple of hours after they closed, telling me that they decided to perform the surgery on my cat at the very end of the day, so Dr. K can make sure he is not rushed, and doesn't miss anything. Unfortunately, he said my cat's vitals were dropping during the surgery, and he had to close up my cat asap. He got a biopsy of the liver, which was the primary goal, but he also wanted to check out other things, like the gallbladder, while he was in there, but he didn't have enough time since my cat's vitals were dropping during surgery. I'm glad that my cat survived the surgery. I feel that if my other vet performed this surgery, my cat would not have made it out alive. Dr. K was at SGAH performing surgery on my cat a couple of hours past their closing time (even some of his staff were there until 8:30 PM! when I picked up my cat). This right here says that he cares about your pets as just as much as you do. If not, he would have either rushed surgery or postponed it until the next day, etc. This shows that Dr. K doesn't clock out when 6:00 PM hits. He is there until all of his obligations for that day are completed. I'm grateful for Dr. K and the staff. Dr. K is very knowledgeable, friendly, and compassionate. His staff is also knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. SGAH's rates are very fair and reasonable, which is why they are always busy!

We came on a Friday and had to do a blood panel for our cat but the clinic was closed the next day. However, Dr. Z still went out of his way to call me, on his day off (Saturday), to let me know what the results to the tests were. He could've easily told me on Monday, but wanted to quell my worries and you genuinely don't find people like that anymore. I can attest with my whole heart that this clinic genuinely loves your pets like their own. The front desk receptionist made us feel so welcomed and really understood what we were going through. The vet tech was so incredibly kind and even trimmed our cat's nails without charging us when he had to be sedated to get his blood drawn. She was so, so sweet and even after we decided our next course of action, popped back in to say, "Aren't you happy he could get the surgery?!" I could tell that she really cared about the wellbeing of my cat and how I felt in that moment. Originally, we were afraid that we'd have to put him down due to a massive growth on his toe that we were afraid was cancer. Thankfully, Dr. Z and his team did not give up on our baby! I just can't put into words how grateful we are. Every single person was so incredibly kind and understanding. This vet clinic is a gem, truly.

They should've disclosed this material fact prior to service not when I'm going to pay. Not many people have cash in their pocket anymore and now they want to charge another junk fee on top of their high prices. How unfortunate even though it's convenient to go there, I'm going to find another vet.

He had been in a slow decline that suddenly turned rapid, and I knew we were at the end. What stood out most was the veterinarian's honesty. They checked his vitals, but we didn't pursue extensive diagnostics. Instead, he spoke candidly about what he was seeing--neurologically, Baxter was not himself and had clearly lost significant muscle mass. At his age, there was likely more going on than one treatable issue. The veterinarian could have easily recommended a long list of tests. Instead, he gave me real guidance. When I asked what he would do if it were his own dog, he told me he would choose euthanasia at this stage, explaining that "a day or a week too early is better than a day too late" to avoid unnecessary suffering. I had been struggling with this decision for a while, and that honesty helped me feel confident I was doing the right thing. It meant everything. Once I made the decision, the compassion from the staff was incredible. They handled everything with such care, dignity, and kindness. I've also been here before when Baxter was first diagnosed with heart failure, and had the same experience. The veterinarian literally told me it wasn't an emergency and that I could either proceed with treatment there or follow up with my regular vet the next day and save the cost of emergency care. That level of transparency really stuck with me. I'm truly grateful for this team and this office. If you're ever in a difficult situation with your pet, this is a place where you'll receive honest, compassionate care--not pressure to run unnecessary tests or take advantage of a vulnerable moment. Five stars, without hesitation.
