I just accompanied my wife to her appointment with Dr. Christopher Weyer. When he entered the exam…read moreroom, he introduced himself but never asked my wife how she was doing or how he could help. Instead, he was condescending and dismissive, and talked more about his career and his speciality. My wife has severe anxiety triggered by medical appointments due to the substandard medical care here in Arizona. This was exacerbated by how she was cut off by Dr. Weyer each time she had a question or comment. He accused my wife of constantly interrupting, and gave me the impression that he was more concerned on telling my wife what he doesn't treat rather than discussing her dermatology issue. It was to the point of us (particularly my wife) feeling verbally attacked. We left immediately, as it seemed like he was actively instigating and trying to get an outburst from my wife. As we left, even the receptionist came off as rude, yelling after us that we needed to check out as we were exiting the exam area. This experience resulted in my wife having an anxiety attack as soon as we got to the car. My wife was not disruptive in any way. Dr. Weyer would cut her off every time she tried to ask a question or comment about what she discovered when doing her own research on her dermatological condition. Dr. Weyer gave the impression that the information that my wife had was insignificant. He would literally shrug his shoulders and throw up his hands as if there was nothing he could do. My wife felt both humiliated and attacked. We are NEVER returning to this dermatology office, especially given how Dr. Weyer clearly puts his ego over LISTENING to his patients' needs.

Recently I started having daily episodes of 8 to 10 level abdominal pain. My PCP diagnosed it as…read morea prostate problem after receiving the lab report for a CT Scan and Blood Test he ordered. He recommended I see a Urologist and if the pain episodes were too serious to wait. go to the ER. I made an appointment with a Urologist but as days passed before that appointment I had several more episodes of the intense pain. I went to the ER where heretofore I and my late wife have had very good experiences. Anticipating a long wait, I brought a book to read. The triage nurse conducted a comprehensive review of what I was experiencing. I waited about 4 hours. It was late at night when the ER doctor joined me in the examination room. The ER had been very busy and I perceived that he was tired. Stating that, since I already had orders for a CT scan and blood test, I was wasting ER time. He did not examine me. At the appointment with the Urologist he asked questions and did an ultrasound scan of my abdomen. He declared that my bladder was "dead" and I'd be on catheters and plastic bags. I then made an appointment with Dr. Nazaroff at the Arizona Urology Center. After a comprehensive series of tests he started treating me for the prostate problem, On my second appointment I complained to Dr. Nazaroff that the episodes of pain were continuing. He performed a quick exam and declared the the pain problem that started me on this adventure is a hernia! Totally unrelated to the prostate! I am now on my way fixing the prostate problem with a truly fine doctor. He and the Arizona Urology Center staff are wonderful. And now I have an appointment with a surgical clinic that has received high reviews on Yelp. The surgeon will fix my hernia. That clinic will be the subject of my next review.

I have a chronic condition which is requires frequent care. My type of work has required me to live…read morein multiple places and I have had a lot of different types of specialists in cities and towns I've lived. Sierra Vista is not the smallest town I've lived in and it certainly is far from the largest city I've lived in. It's always hard to move and find new doctors and a team that cares for you. I have had to navigate all of this in the past. I know that if I live at a higher elevation, my condition needs more attention. Moving to SV was a decision I did not take lightly because of my health. I am actually glad I moved to Sierra Vista. It's been almost two years now and I have to say that of all the places I've lived, this where I have gotten the best care for my condition. These doctors are impressive in their knowledge. That's not all though. They listen, they care, and they say what they are going to do. Not in any other place did my doctors make sure I was connected to the two other types of specialists I need to see regularly. One of these has to be in Phoenix and they made all the arrangements. I got to Phoenix for my appointment and the doctor told me that he had received a call personally from my hematologist in Sierra Vista and he had all the relevant records to help me. I couldn't be happier. Who would have imagined that there is gem of a Practice like Southwest Cancer Care. I have never been let down here and they continue to give me the best care possible.
