When my wife and I recently stumbled across a house in Pacifica we knew there was a very good chance it was the one but the only problem is we had no representation/agent at all and no real way to get a foot in the door to take a look at the place. I started researching agents on Yelp and came across Michael's page (pacificarealtor) and tried to sleep on it, not really knowing what to do. I ended up cold calling Michael and telling him we saw a house online that we're interested in but we don't have an agent and could he potentially represent us and get us into the place. He not only was willing to help, but he had also worked with the listing agent previously and got us in the door that afternoon - which was amazing timing as we were just about to travel down to the central coast the next day. Short story: I am a workaholic, very informed buyer-seller in residential property and wanted a clone of myself to negotiate to find a home in the Montara-Moss Beach area and FAST. Little did we know that we jumped from the frying pan into the fire. We found life in Silicon Valley to me miserable. We have 2 young children (girl 6 -1st grade and boy 5 years kindergarten) and need a good school for them. We were never able to work out the school situation. We HAD to change schools 3 x times in one year. First 2 were private schools (Private schools have appallingly low criteria that they have to meet to be a private school in CA) and the schools were unsafe and they did not want to deal with the my kids special needs (my kids are main line with only an hour of assistance a week. I call them quirky kids). While I loved my house and street in EPA, I hated the soul crushing traffic, lack of life -work balance and most importantly, not family friendly. After seeing 3 tragic cars accidents in just the month of August alone and my son pooping his pants at the charter school in Redwood city (that had 3 bathrooms for 317 students) on August 31, 2017, I called my husband and told him "come home NOW! We need to "war room" this because i refuse to live here another day than i have to. We have a good friend in Montara. Her neighbor was an agent. You know what people say about mixing friends/family and $. Not a great idea but I got carried away with the idea that moving to the area would solve some big life problems. She claimed to be an "expert" in real estate in the area. Because she is friends with most of the home owners for decades, she was unknowingly advocating for the sellers. I knew what things are worth and she argued with me on what I thought. I knew it wasn't gonna work out. I told my husband I want to find a buyer's agent. Probably a guy. Probably has 2 to 5 years of experience and is very hungry, therefore a very hard worker. I need somebody that's going to negotiate and advocate for us. I met Michael 2 days later. It was so nice to sit back and let him do the hard work I usually do. He ALWAYS answers his phone. Told me (and obviously I talk a lot) that I never bothered him when I called. My family was able to score a cute house on the western side of the freeway in Moss Beach. Primo locale. This is a tough market, you need this man! We relocated to Pacifica from New York City and looked for two years before finding our home. We could not have done it without Michael. This is my first review on Yelp which goes to show how well Michael did in helping us find our first Bay Area home. I truly want to share my appreciation for the job well done! It was by chance that my husband and I came to meet Michael but we were impressed by the start. I can't stress how easy Michael made the entire home searching process for us. He took the time to sit down with us to understand our needs to ensure he was steering us towards the right properties. Michael was also extremely responsive to us either by phone or email and would attend open houses with us or try to schedule private viewings if we wanted a second look at properties we were interested in. He was extremely patient with us and our three year old daughter. During one open house, I was going to stay in the car with my daughter while she napped but Michael kindly offered to "stand guard" so I could do a walk through with my husband. This review comes a year late but better late than never right? My husband and I met Michael Jimenez in Oct 2016 after months and months of searching for a house in Pacifica to purchase. We were feeling pretty discouraged and of course getting outbidded left and right. We either were going to start having to look elsewhere (which we didn't want to) or keep renting for a little while longer. There was something about Michael's presence, energy and kindness that left us feeling hopeful about the house we looked at and using him as the realtor rather than the agent we had previously been working with. The house itself seemed perfect, almost too perfect, great location, not too big, not too small with a beautiful backyard. We knew we had to put in a bid ASAP. What we had on our side was going into the holiday season but of course we were not the only bid so we didn't want to get our hopes up too high.
