Here on Yelp, it says they are oral surgeons. THIS ISNT TRUE. I came on Saturday due to crazy wisdom tooth pain. Dr Z insisted I needed a CT scan. I told him I got one done on Thursday (two days prior) with my dentist but he said he needed to do his own. Which he says it's $450 but for new patients it is discounted to $200. I was desperate and needed something so I paid for it. He then went over the CT scan and said the way my wisdom tooth is positioned, required an oral surgeon.... Which again I thought that's where I was at. Whatever, I let it go. He said he was going to consult with the oral surgeon he works closely with (entirely different practice) on Monday. Before I left his office, he said he would call me at 12 pm after the consultation. 2 pm rolls around today (Monday) no call. I called and the receptionist (who was watching tv very loudly by the way) said she would call Dr z and call me back. Instead I get this text saying to go ahead and just call the oral surgeon. Which then I texted back saying I thought Dr Z was going to call me first. Within seconds of sending that text, I get a call from Dr Z and it was quite condescending. He said "do you remember I told you that I was going to consult with the oral surgeon? Do you remember that me and you already consulted when you came in?" I then said " yes but you then said you'd call me at 12 pm because you were going to discuss if I needed emergency extraction or if I can wait" and then he tried to backtrack and say "oh ya I had to talk to the oral surgeon (Dr Wilson) but he was busy this morning so I called him again a few minutes ago and they're expecting your call." Dr. Z also said he went over the CT scan and sent it over to Dr Wilson's office. Well... I called Dr Wilson's office and they confirmed they didn't receive the ct scan. I feel totally misled by this dentist office. It's clear that they're a newer business, maybe even a newer dentist? Not sure. He even made a comment and said that I had nice teeth with no cavities but I'm literally going to my original dentist for a filling this week lol. I told him "I do have one, I'm getting a filling for it" for which he responded "I can do a full check if you'd like".... Uhhh you just said I didn't have any so are you thoroughly looking at the x rays and ct scans that you insisted I had to get done? He also couldn't accept my care credit card even though they have a sign saying they take it. It kept "declining" although it's absolutely working. I tried to explain to him that you can't just swipe a care credit card you have to input the info but I don't think he knows how to do it. So I'm chalking it up to dr Z maybe being a newer dentist, newer business and hoping patients no longer fall through the cracks when it comes to coordinating care with other providers from here on out. It's a beautiful office but aesthetics isn't everything. I'd rather have a run down office that provides quality care. I mean well and work in healthcare myself, so hoping this review will be taken as constructive criticism and hopefully Z Dental will do better for future patients.

I had a tooth extracted, one of my bottom incisors, and he confirmed wit me multiple times to make sure I was aware of the results (having only three incisors would remove my bottom midline entirely); not because he doubted me, but because he wanted to make sure I would remain satisfied with my smile in the future after the extraction, and so I could make the most informed decision. The dental hygienist got to taking x-rays right away and did a good job about not pinching my gums or cheeks too much during the process, which I know sometimes is a struggle. When Dr. Chris came in, there wasn't any niceties exchanged, barely an introduction. It felt very short, abrupt, straight to the point, and not conversational. I've always liked going to the dentist and felt comfortable at the dentist, but I can imagine for someone who doesn't like the dentist that this interaction would not have put them at ease or made to feel welcomed. I was told I had cavities and they were able to take care of them right away. Convenient for me not to have to come back another time, so that was great! What really threw me off was that during the process, Dr. Chris just announced out loud, "Time for a break!" And dropped everything and left the room with the hygienist. I was so confused and baffled. How could they take a break in the middle of filling my cavity?? I was stressing because I wasn't sure if he hurt himself and needed to go take care of it, if he went on a lunch break, or if something else was going on. I was left in the dark, figuratively. It felt like awhile before another hygienist came in looking for supplies when she asked if I was doing okay. I said I was fine and asked if everyone else was okay. She said that Dr. Chris needed to tend to an emergency with another patient momentarily. I felt a little better after knowing that. When he came back, I thought he would at least address his absence with something like, "I'm sorry for the interruption. I had to attend to an emergency." Or a, "Thank you for waiting." But instead, I got, "Okay let's keep going." As a healthcare professional myself, I understand the importance of transparency and helping manage expectation to help put patients at ease. A simple, "I will be back in a few minutes. I need to go help another patient" wouldn't have left me stressed out about what was happening and when/if he was coming back. We ended up getting interrupted again but this time I heard the other hygienist say, "I'm so sorry but I need you again." Dr. Chris said, "I'll be right there." And he left the dental saliva ejector mouthpiece in my mouth when he stepped out. I think he thought he'd be back right away so he didn't take it out but it ended up staying in my mouth so long I was so dried out and uncomfortable. I was tempted to remove it myself and honestly probably should have, but I kept thinking he'd be back any moment. Finally, he came back, again with no apology for stepping out. He finished up quickly and I was out. My mouth and tongue were still numb so it wasn't until the next day where I felt the grooves of the filling and I wanted it smoothed out. I called the office and they were able to get me in that same day. I was taken care of by hygienist Lynne and she was fabulous!! She was approachable, conversational, answered my questions, and checked up on how I was doing often. She helped me smooth out the rough edges of the filling so that it felt more seamless. She thanked me for coming in and told me to request her the next time I was in. I'm giving this dental office a 4/5 because of the timeliness of the appointments, the attentive hygienists, the cleanliness, and the good final product of my fillings. My major critique is just the bedside manner from Dr. Chris and the process of getting my filling. I'm hopeful and willing to give it the benefit of the doubt that it was just one bad fluke of a day. At my visit, I was told that I had six cavities that all required prompt treatment. (This was very surprising, as I had been seen at this same office about six months prior with nothing needing even preventative treatment.) At the time, I was also about two weeks into my new Invisalign treatment, and I knew that cavities and fillings can sometimes affect how trays fit or progress (my orthodontist later explained this likely wouldn't have been an issue in my case, but that was not something I knew at the time). Because of that, I wanted to better understand how urgent the situation actually was before moving forward. I sent several polite and very reasonable emails asking about my options, including whether more conservative approaches like prescription fluoride/remineralization were appropriate. It took 3 emails over several weeks to get any response. When I finally did, NONE of my questions were answered. Instead, the doctor completely skipped over them and simply stated that my orthodontist had approved the treatment. Because my orthodontist's input addressed one of my concerns (how this would affect my Invisalign), I scheduled the first appointment. However, it never sat right with me that my questions had been ignored. After speaking further with my orthodontist, who also reached out to this office, I was advised to get a second opinion. Within hours of that, I received an email from the office essentially telling me to go elsewhere if I had concerns. I responded reiterating my concerns and requested my records. Once again, there was no response. After multiple follow-ups, my records were sent via FedEx with no prior communication. No heads up, no tracking, and no notice that a signature would be required. If this was the first time I found them subpar, I would simply call it a communication or operations problem but since it felt like the 247th, let's call it what it was... intentional, petty, embarrassing. While waiting for these records, I saw a new dentist for a second opinion. They performed a thorough exam, explained everything clearly, and did not find any active cavities requiring fillings. Instead, they recommended preventative care and monitoring, the exact option I had originally asked this office about but never received a response on. The difference in professionalism, transparency, and overall care was significant. When I finally caught FedEx at my door, I received both my records and a formal letter from Dr. Andreea dismissing me as a patient. Looking back, this experience also made me question the quality of care I received here previously. I had several cavities filled over time (prior to coming here, I had maybe one or two in my entire life), and I even paid for a "deep cleaning" that felt no different than a standard cleaning. The cleanings in general felt subpar, and at the time I brushed it off but in hindsight, it raises concerns. Being dismissed for asking basic, reasonable questions about your own treatment is a major red flag. Patients should be able to understand their options and participate in decisions about their care. This office, however, seemed to prefer compliance over informed consent. Maintaining the integrity of your natural teeth is important, and unnecessary dental work is unfortunately not uncommon, which is exactly why patients ask questions and seek second opinions. This experience has left me with serious concerns about whether prior treatment I received here was even necessary. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major treatment from this office. Ive learned that when decay is still in the enamel and hasn't progressed into the dentin, some cases can be managed conservatively rather than jumping straight to fillings, which is exactly why I was asking questions. You should ask your dentist too! If they refuse to answer, fire them!
