We are pretty indecisive people at the best of times and it's always hard when you're buying something you would like to wear everyday for the rest of your life but David made the experience so easy and really made us feel like valued customers. When we finally chose our rings, David and his team boxed them up in front of us and sent them off to the airport so we could collect them duty free. He also gave us a bottle of bubbles to celebrate with. I don't think I would want to go anywhere else to buy jewelry now!

Some of it is overpriced and dangled on the bodies of every girl in Auckland. So if you're not into that scene and you want something beautiful that really is a bit unique I'm sure you will find it here! There's an insane amount of jewellery in here all categorized by the different designers. The prices vary a lot, which is good because amongst the great pricey pieces there are some awesome little finds. My most recent find was a tiny pair of skull earrings. Who needs Kdub skulls when you can have these. They are really gorgeous and only $20!! If you're walking up or down High Street you have to go in here!

But it does come with a price. It's quite an expensive store and even things that are kind of disposable (like novelty bachelorette/bachelor night stuff etc) are sold at a premium price. But it's actually one of the very few places where you can find different, fun stuff. I really like their greeting cards too, there are quite a few funny novelty ones and they're always a bit of a laugh to look through. If you're trying to find a fun gift for someone who's hard to shop for or one of those people who kind of have everything they need, this is the shop to go to.

If I'm honest many of the incredible pieces here are far outside my budget, but it doesn't stop me from stopping in a couple of times a month to see the interesting new things they have. It's as much an art gallery as it is a shop. Benjamin Flynn, who runs the place, has some amazing rings on display and there are dozens of other local artists with new stuff coming in all the time. Ditch the horrible jewellery chains and see where it's really at.

I was talking to the shop owner today and he said they are going to start specializing in jewellery alone, probably because they have a knack for finding exquisite pieces. My mum once bought a huge garnet ring from here with two diamonds either side and it was only $135! They have truly beautiful rings, some of which I imagine would be perfect for an engagement. Antique jewellery has more character and history, I don't know why anyone would prefer to have a modern piece that all look alike! It's seems to have become much more mainstream. Still, it's definitely worth a look if you're after a nice present, especially for a housewarming or to send overseas, as lots of the stuff they sell is made and/or designed in New Zealand, which is cool. I went back to the Vault after finding the required present because I saw the Vault had a very good collection of gift cards. Because some of my present wasn't wrapped, I asked if I could buy some tissue paper from there with the card. The woman told me she couldn't sell me any, but would give me some. She gave me white tissue paper, pink tissue paper as well as ribbon. I was only buying a $6.50 card and she did all of that for me. What a gem.

It's a cool shop, really big and separated into two levels. My favourite section is just at the front where they have all of their silver rings on display. They have some extremely on trend styles that you would pay heaps for in other store things like the peace ring or the love written in linky writing and all of them are so cheap, $40 is the most you would pay. If you are into quirky or tribal style jewellery you will definitely find it here, everything is displayed with similar styles so you can walk around the store, find what style suits you and then browse to your hearts content. Parking can be hard on Ponsonby Rd but there are street parks outside as well as some side roads nearby.
