This is my first visit at Dental Arts. I must say it was very pleasurable and I didn't have much…read moreanxiety. I've never been to a dentist where they offer "free" laughing gas to calm your nerves and any anxiety. I needed it. My first impression was years ago by Dr. Kirk at a charity event I was volunteering at Bartel Hall. His staff offered free dental service to the community. After so many years later, I gave them a call to try it for myself. Lesley (receptionist) was very helpful and patient while scheduling my appointment. The appointment was two months after I scheduled (they are booked). As I walked in, I was greeted by Lesley. She's very friendly and cheerful - at 7:00am. My dental hygienist was Mariah. She was very thorough, in explaining everything she was going to do. She also made me feel very comfortable throughout the visit. After the x-rays, cleaning, and going over everything, Dr. Clark came in to take a look. Again, another very nice person that made my visit a delight. If anyone knows me, I hate the dentist. I can honestly say, I look forward to returning. I left there without my mouth feeling like it has been scratched up and I can close my mouth without my gums and teeth feeling sensitive. Try them for yourself...you'll be glad you did.

I went to the emergency dental clinic as a walk in. It took about 2 hours to be seen but it wasn't…read morea bad wait time. I have extreme anxiety with the dentist because I have had an extensive amount of dental work done and there has always been an issue every single time. I have been tortured by dentist that don't listen. By tortured I mean Ive had a dentist pull a tooth halfway out and yell at me because I felt the nerve and screamed. He stopped and told me to go to an oral surgeon. With my tooth half way out. The last tooth I had pulled the dentist almost broke my jaw and Ive had issues ever since. So anyway. Last week we couldnt get the nerve numb enough and had to wait until today to pull it. So I.go in and tell her the nerve has been bothering me so I ask does she rhink we will be able to get it numb or should we wait until the swelling goes down more. She says, well with your anxiety I'm not sure what you can tolerate. I say, hu? My anxiety has nothing to do with if we can get rhe nerve numb or not. So I ask her again and she says the same thing. Then she says we won't know unless we rtry so I say ok lets try. Then she sighs and looks at the nurse and says yeah when people have anxiety this bad they can't tell the difference between pressure and nerve pain. I knew right then she didn't listen to me in the previous appointment when I told her why I had anxiety and it was because they have said that in the past and pulled my teeth with extreme nerve pain. I said nope nevermind I'm not doing this. I said I'm 51 years old, you can see Ive had a lot of dental work and I know the difference. Anxiety isn't going to make me confuse the 2. Pressure is pressure, nerve pain feels like a shock. I said that hurt my feelings that you said that after I explained it to you. She never said a word and as she walked out I sad wow jot a sorry or anything? The poor nurse Said sorry and she didn't even do anything. I was actually planmimg.to make a new patient appointment and was excited about it and now I wouldn't step foot back in there. That dentist had mo empathy whay so ever. Amd Obviouslly no bed side manner. I was just a number. They don't care about the person. Ahe acted like it was a burden and like I was overreacting. Now I have to figure out how to get this tooth out.
