I went in to this shop today. I asked the man if i could try a Fender Champ and he said he did not…read morehave the transformer. I laughed and said I don't really want to go and buy one just to try out an amp he replied "yes, but you can take it back tomorrow.(!!!) I decided to ignore this and tried another amp. I noticed a vintage Vox and asked if i could try it. That one is not for sale he said. " OK" i said what about the one in the window? he then replied You have to buy it first. I laughed and said No really. Can I try it? He said No. I just told you. You have to buy it first. I still thought he was joking, but then he said "Do you know how much work it is to get that out of the window? (it was simply a case of unlocking the window and moving 1 small amp of this small amp, and passing it to me). I said " What is the point of having a guitar shop if you won't let people try the products?" he said "I'm waiting for someone to come and say I want that amp! " so you're waiting for someone to buy the amp without trying it? I asked. Yes. he said. Good luck! I said. " You too! "he said triumphantly. Tragic.
