[sings in rowdy, fight-song spirit] Love and honor to Miami, our college old and grand. Proudly we shall ever hail thee, over all the land. Alma mater now we praise thee, sing joyfully this lay. Love and honor to Miami, forever and a day! I loved my four years as an undergraduate at Miami of Ohio and would recommend it enthusiastically to interested students. Yes, Miami University. Not the University of Miami. Miami was a university (1809) when Florida belonged to Spain (until 1822)! Why is it named Miami? Because of the Miami Indians. Other nicknames: Ohio's Public Ivy, because Miami delivers an Ivy League collegiate experience at a public school price. J.Crew U, because many students care about looking clean-cut, professional, polished, and yes, preppy. Miami is located in Oxford, which is a quintessential college town. There are about 16,000 undergraduates on campus. Miami has the best aspects of a big state school (awesome sports teams, beautiful campus facilities, opportunities for undergraduates to do research with professors, killer Greek life) with the best aspects of a small liberal arts college (professors who are excellent teachers, well-designed living learning communities in the dorms, and lots of opportunities for service learning). I'm a nerd, so I took advantage of everything academic: the University Honors Program, the Scholar Leader Community, the Undergraduate Summer Scholars Program. I was a member of the Dean's Student Advisory Council, a recipient of the President's Distinguished Service Award, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa my junior year. I also worked three campus jobs: language computer lab monitor, research desk staffer at King Library, and campus tour guide. I had a lot of fun and made lasting friendships. And my education didn't cost that much, thanks to scholarships and my parents' generosity. Tuition and fees are currently $14,000 a year for Ohio residents. Sure, Miami is more expensive than OSU ($10K) and OU ($11K). But I think the cost is well worth the education and the experience. Over half of the student body comes from states other than Ohio, so lots of other students and parents must feel the same way. I love returning to campus to visit. It looked great while I was a student there from 2004 to 2008, but damn, the new buildings look amazing! But the best part of having attended Miami is the positive association fellow Ohioans and those in the know have with the university. Miami is a university to be proud of.

"Prodesse Quam Conspici" Mother Miami, the home of my undergraduate experience. A 'public Ivy' with a very private feel considering the setting, curriculum and class size. I was sold upon my first visit to Oxford, a beautiful college town straight out of a novel. A bit isolated in the rolling hills (not corn fields) of Southwest Ohio, about 40 minutes north Cincy. I loved everything about it, but see why some get overwhelmed with the social anxiety that comes along with a intense Greek scene. GDI was the way to go... had the time of my life and wouldn't change a thing. Most people who don't like the social climate transfer to become nothing but a number at a Big 10, with the benefits of only slightly better college football. I had a great experience in and out of class. Studying zoology and dabbled in finance - the intersection of the two is where I am today, so it all work out very well. Not too mentions that I was also able to partake in such challenging courses as 'Love and Sex', 'Viticulture and Enology' and 'Social & Ballroom Dance'. Bagel and Deli, Jimmy Johns, La Bamba, CJs, Mac and Joes, Circle Bar were my source of food and drink. B&D will probably never close, along with CJs and Mac and Joes, as they are all classics and hopefully part of the Miami's charm that won't get over run by new money, new construction, overzealous real estate developers looking to make a buck on upper middle class kids, etc. Highly recommended for Ohioans and imports alike.

Armstrong Student Center can't be beat. 4 restaurants, student meeting and lounge areas open and welcoming. ....... noticed Phase II for the center is underway. The Architecture and design is top notch.

I cannot say enough positive things about Deltasig (note the lowercase s; S indicates Delta Sigma…read morePHI). In the years since pledging and being initiated, the Fraternity has given me much more than what I have received in return- lifelong friendships, professional development, volunteer opportunities, etc etc. I am severely indebted for everything; DSP is truly not just for 4 years alone! I always enjoy visiting our Central Office HQ in Oxford- the city is the perfect college town setting, and our building blends in well to the landscape. Normally the staff works M-F, however if you're passing thru & want to get a tour/walk around, it can be arranged. Upon entrance, a staffer will ask you to sign in. That book alone is cool to peruse thru to see who all has visited beforehand! History is in every corner of the building, not limited to individual chapter history, communications with chapters (when print was the norm), books of membership forms, pictures, scrapbooks, etc. Every visit I've made never has enough time to go thru everything I want (being the detailed history nerd I am). I sincere appreciate how much time/effort/$$/etc is spent to our organization's preservation.

Delta Sigma Pi is a business fraternity. A co-ed business fraternity…read more Thank god it's co-ed. Now, I could be boring and write a review about how it's a great place to meet people with similar values and goals or about how my college experience wouldn't have been the same without it. I could write about how it prepares you for "the real world" and helped me get my current job. I could write all that. But I'm not. I'm going to let you in on a little secret I have about DSP... ...It's a great place to find a date. Okay, I'm sorry, but it is. Just think about it: You know he's in business so he's going to be making some massive money in the near/far future. You know he's somewhat responsible and can manage his time well because he went through pledging. And you know he has social skills because he was able to bond with the bros at whatever school he goes to in order to get a bid. Financially stable. Responsible. Sociable. It's like the frat just screened him for you! Awesome!! (Seriously speaking though, joining Delta Sigma Pi was the best thing that ever happened to me and I'm totally willing to talk about it. But honestly, writing everything that's happened in the past four years isn't going to fit in this review box so if you're interested, talk to someone in DSP about it. It was a great experience for me, and if you get the opportunity to be a bro, I hope it becomes a great experience for you.)
