I had an absolutely vile experience with Miami Twice. Mary's attitude was disgusting from the moment I walked in. She was rude, condescending, and acted like she was doing me a favor while clearly trying to lowball me. I was told my bags were only worth $2,500, and the whole interaction felt like an attempt to scare me into settling for far less than they were actually worth. The most telling part was how fast the story changed. The second I mentioned I had another offer for $4,000, suddenly the value of my bags magically went up. Then when I came back to get my bags, she tried to offer the $4,000. That alone told me everything I needed to know. It made the entire experience feel completely dishonest, manipulative, and predatory. What stood out most was how disgusting her attitude was throughout all of this. There was no professionalism, no courtesy, and no respect. Just arrogance, rudeness, and behavior that made me feel like she was trying to take advantage of me. I would never do business with her again, and I would strongly warn anyone thinking about bringing valuable items there to be extremely careful. Came to Miami Twice looking for an outfit for an 80's theme party. Not only did I find something for the party, but ended up with a few other gorgeous dresses and tops for when the hubby and I go out. Mary and Sabrina are absolutely fantastic! If you've never shopped here before, when you come in you'll feel right at home and like you've known them forever. Sabrina is great at giving fashion advice and being honest at what looks good and what's not flattering. Mary, the owner, is like that cool aunt that everyone wishes they had. She's great at finding suggestions for how to dress for the different decades. Miami twice has been a staple for vintage fashion for over 40 years with good reason. By the way, if you think you're only coming in to buy clothes for a themed party, you're mistaken. You'll probably leave with a few "extras" you didn't go in looking for, but found impossible to leave behind. read more

This is the coolest store in the coolest city, Miami! This store has been around since the mid-1980s making it one of the oldest second hand clothing stores in the area. It is is family-owned and operated by Mary Kyle Holle and and Diana Kyle. Today Miami Twice is famous as a destination for vintage clothing lovers. Parking is free out front and free parking in Miami is a small miracle. Inside the door you will a mixture of new and used clothing and accessories that span the past century. This store is perfect for Halloween and theme parties. Every October, the store is transformed Into a Halloween costume boutique. Some items can even be rented. There are so many unique and cute new items like a skirt covered in planets and a mushroom dotted dress. The vintage items are separated by decades. Items range from inexpensive to high end designer. The hundreds of hats are amazing. Don't forget the shoes, purses, and jewelry. There was an entire cabinet of silver pieces and some home decor items. The Louis Vuitton collection and designer handbags are a fashionistas dream. Really the whole store is. If you are someone who knows how to style outfits and you want something everyone else doesn't have, this is your store. I found the salespeople to be friendly and helpful but not hovering. I know that looking for such a specific and unique thing last minute is going to cost you. I'm glad there's a place like this around. But all of the dresses were about $100 or more. The dress is really nice! I'm happy about the way it looks. I wanted to get a headband to go with it. I thought it would be around $15-20, but when I went to pay it was $40!?! It was a very simple headband with a feather on it! There are a lot of cool things in the store. Different eras, like the 50's, 60's, 80's etc. They also had a clearance section and a designer section (with extra expensive stuff!) There are a lot of designer bags behind the counter. A lady came in and asked how much a large black Channel bag was. It was $4500! So be aware that this is not a thrift store in any way. The original vintage store of Miami. It's been open since I can remember and I also love coming here randomly since I can remember. This store houses all things vintage. They also buy all sorts of vintage items from you if need be. I've come here normally to get costumes for Halloween. During this time they have so many accessories and costumes available for purchase. They have vintage to rent but they also have newer costumes to buy. The store is amazing! The owner really takes pride and care in the items and sells them at a fair price. I love how nice and knowledgeable she is , and along with it she is just the most up front and honest women and supports others in the space down here. They also have LAYAWAY! The store itself is very interesting I must say, and the girl employees are sweet ethical and very helpful, unlike the owner.. who has a very arrogant character.. I went in to see if I could sell some jewelry I have, but when I got there the owner of the store was very rude mostly a pretender to be nice, when I approached the counter where she was doing some paper work she kept saying how can I help you, but not once gave me eye contact, not until I put the jewelry on the counter than she claimed that she couldn't buy it cause it wasn't Vintage.. and she wasn't gonna sell it, I told her I have sold other jewelry like this in the past, she said Not here!! I said yes.. which I have and very similar jewelry in fact she said this is probably from China.. she declined. So The moral to this story is that she's not ETHICAL let alone nice she was actually slandering me for selling something that she wasn't interested in buying which is fine no big deal to me. Anybody say $40 dresses for $215?! I'm IN! C'mon... The styles here are cute and trendy as far as the contemporary clothing, but it's all cheaply made and grossly over priced. I am not even exaggerating with the $200+ price tag for something worth only $45 or less. The sad thing is, the WHOLE plaza is like that (all three stores, that is). I almost felt like I was in the Dominican Republic in some of Santiago's incredibly overpriced cheap trendy stuff depots like Divas, among others. There was tons of retro gear in here, but it couldn't really be used for anything but costumes and at the prices in here...you won't want to purchase something you're only wearing once. They did have some nice vintage purses. At $45 bucks for something that would probably cost $20 if it weren't supposed to be "vintage," it could be worse. That's one of very few things I'd consider purchasing here. The items on sale are just far too cheap. They'd surely be pilled up after just one wash. The one reason I'd go here and expect to leave with something in my hand if I was looking for a cocktail dress. They had some really cute stuff that I've seen at ModCloth.com for the same price (who knew? They don't jack up the price on everything after all.) and the plus is no shipping costs and you can try it on. Lots of cute stuff at reasonable prices as far as that's concerned. What is Vintage? Vintage clothing is a generic term for second hand garments originating from a previous era. In other words your buying something someone else has used. With that said one does not expect to pay over a $100 for an article of clothing that has been used. I would rather pay the prices Miami Twice Charges at a store where the clothes is new and not previously worn. I naively went here today looking for a jacket for a costume. I was under the impression again since its USED that it wouldn't cost more then the Jacket I saw at Macy's. Well unfortunately I was wrong since the price was twice what the Jacket would cost me at Macy's. The girl who works there was not very professional either. I was very nice explaining what I was looking for. She explained she needed to go to the back and have some contraption (similar to what is used at dry cleaners) bring the clothes forward. I told her I had a budget and asked what the average cost of an article of clothing would be. She told me around $100 so I thanked her for her time and told her I didn't want to trouble her since it was more then I wanted to spend. As I was leaving I heard her talking with her co worker "what was he thinking this is brand name vintage clothing" They seriously need a reality check as what they sell is the same as the GoodWill Store two blocks down the street! read more

Ironically, I have never bought anything from this store but I love popping in and am just anxiously waiting for a themed party to arise where I will need to come buy a costume! They have tons of vintage clothing covering any and every decade. On top of that, they have newer clothes that mostly have a vintage flair. Yes, some things can be expensive but others are reasonably priced and you know that what you buy will be unique! If you're into wearing leggings like many are these days, this is the PERFECT place to go whether you want neon, destroyed, denim, printed, or just plain black. I also overheard the owner say that she would specially order a pirate outfit for customers in the market! The owner and staff were really helpful in finding things and the owner let me know she has racks and racks of vintage clothing if you don't see something that you like on the floor. They have a lot of sale items but it can be hard to sift through if you are not feeling too patient. Overall, a fun store located on a cool strip of boutiques! read more

I definitely should have read the reviews for Miami Twice before heading over! Everyone is right about the fact that it's a very pricey store. My review is for the Halloween version of the store, where employees apparently move all the regular merchandise out to make room for the Halloween costumes and props. Parking is awful here... or I must have hit some busy time (2pm on a Saturday?). There was no parking in front OR in the rear, so I actually left and returned later! As soon as I walked into the store, I was overwhelmed. It's like slutty Halloween costume heaven (or hell...?). I gravitated toward a cute flapper dress and my jaw dropped when I saw the $79 price tag. "Oh... it's THAT kind of store." There was a another, very teeny tiny, costume that caught my eye: Wonder Woman... for $129! I will admit, the costumes are good quality, and much better fitting than your typical "one size fits all" Party City fare. However, I would never in a million years dream of spending that much on a costume. Even the accessories are expensive... fishnets, jewelry, and gloves for way more than you could find at any other regular costume store, or Target, or wherever. The store associates were extremely friendly and helpful. If you have some extra money floating around this really seems like a fun store to shop around for costumes. But it's not like they have anything SO unique you couldn't find for cheaper elsewhere. read more

Awesome vintage store! I stopped in with the hopes of finding a nice handbag. After reading all the reviews and looking at the pictures on Yelp, I knew that even if I didn't find something to buy I was still going to enjoy browsing. The store is FULL of beautiful vintage clothing all in designated areas for 1960's, 1970's, 80's etc. in addition there are lots of cute trinkets and costume jewelry. My favorite part, however was the handbags. WOW. Such a huge selection of designer bags for far less than actual cost. gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel.. I couldn't believe it. Most of the bags are in mint condition and they really are picky with the used bags that they purchase. Just so you know, this is not a consignment shop. They have a buyer who buys all of the items and then sells them. I found the perfect handbag but definitely wanted to shop around to make sure I was getting the best deal. I went to three other shops and even searched online; I soon realized this store had it for the cheapest price. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and will definitely be back! read more

I think this is a really nice place to visit. I am giving it 4 stars because it's very expensive, which is kind of a paradox. Now, if you are a splurge thrifter, look no further because this spot has one time finds. I saw skirts and styles that have been out of the mainstream for decades. It was really cool to see these precious pieces in real life. I think they scout quality, high end vintage. So, if that is your style, this is your place. When I was in there this beautiful, absolutely gorgeous green and multi colored dress caught my eye. It was on a mannequin behind the counter, and I had a feeling it was pricey... when I asked, the lady said it is a special piece from a designer in the 60s... the dress costs 12,500$ but is made from silk and has clearly been well preserved from the 60s. It was a nice piece. Like I said, this place is more of an art museum to me where I can wander around and be awe struck by the enchanting styles. Definitely worth a visit! read more

I have been to this place, oddly enough, twice and both times have left super disappointed. Advertised as a vintage shop, A LOT of their product is new, mass produced, made in Vietnam kinds of things. It's hard to tell if that cute dress you like is genuinely from the '60s or if it was made last week. I know people who would argue that what matters is how it looks, but I love pieces with a story. Not to mention that those truly vintage dresses have such an amazing feel to them and they will last you another lifetime if you take care of them properly. My other gripes with this place include: Ridiculous pricing- Like, guffaw out loud ridiculous. I bought a bathing suit on Amazon for nearly 1/15th of the price they had it for. Service- Completely ignored. 100% ignored. Painfully ignored. SHould I continue? My suggestion is: go to Goodwill, shop online, or visit a local "new cloth" retailer. Miami Twice, Miami Twice. A name so nice I've named it twice. I have no idea what to do when it comes to finding proper attire for theme-forward parties. So, naturally, I decided to throw my own sort of theme party where as the hostess, I'm pretty much expected to look the part. That said, I popped on over to the Bird Road respite I've relied upon for years and years. Whether it's a flapper party, a Dumb and Dumber affair, a Michael Jackson flash mob, a boogie woogie getdown, a flower power party, or pretty much any other type of hoedown, MT has all the getups you might need to decorate your torso. This isn't so much of a cheapo vintage experience as it is a one-stop shop for your costume party needs. The dress I found today wasn't vintage, but it definitely fit the exact look I was going for: pinup girl meets 1960s stewardess. What I really loved is the collection of hats. Hats from every decade! Prices are slightly higher than you might anticipate, but overall, this little house of wonders is a great resource when you're under the wire to come up with an outfit. read more

Instead I walked into the disappointing realization that half of this store has turned into a Claires/Hot Topic/Forever 21 - esque place. Once upon a time Bird Rd had a great little store where you could find a bunch of neat little retro oddities, outfits and old Playboys. It'd get kinda annoying near Halloween, yes but it would beat going to a billion thrift stores and coming out empty handed. Miami Twice has been in that tiny strip mall on Bird Road FOREVER... and ever... and ever... and ever... (you get the picture). And if you're a gal who's like me, you will appreciate the fashion and style that it offers once you enter its doors. I usually come here to shop for Halloween costumes (I think I spend more on my Halloween costume than a new set of clothes), but whilst snooping around Instagram, my eyes landed on some super cute vintage pinup-style high-waisted bathing suits (I think I just lost my male audience), and I just had to go and check it out. To make a long story short, I ended up with my bathing suit (all black two piece, high-waisted ruched bottom, thank you very much!), but there were so many other cute things in the store. From beautiful jewelry to coats, from vintage fashion to modern style, I found so many awesome pieces that I wish I could've taken home with me. And just as eclectic as their clothing and styles were, so are their prices. You can purchase a $30 shirt here just as easily as a $1000 Chanel bag. It's a little bit of everything at this establishment! Will I be returning? Yes! I didn't really get to browse as thoroughly as I would've liked (my bank account is thanking me), and after meeting who seems to be the owner (so nice!), I'd love to come back! Went back after not having been here in a few years, and nope still sucks. To begin the selection is daunting, they have stuff everywhere and nothing is sorted by decades. Then there is the fact everything is reproduction, like Bettie Page dresses I can order for the same price online without driving all the way to Miami. Most of the "vintage" stuff they have is sorely overpriced. 1970s dresses for 90 dollars? I've gotten the same stuff for 20 bucks in Boston, so not worth it. The jewelry and knick knacks are nice, but again way too overpriced. I found travel scarves for nearly 40 bucks when you can get them for around 20 at most other shops. Also don't sell cheap sunglasses for three times their value when I can get them at party city for less. Same with the costumes, they're cheap looking and just sad. Again Party City would nab you a better deal. I know it's consignment but selling retail brand new items at Mark up is not cool. Aside from that it's fine to browse but don't come in there looking for that IT vintage piece, you're better off on etsy and supporting a small shop. read more

Stopped in here looking for costume type attire, and it wasn't quite what we expected. Yes, they have a lot of cute items, but calling themselves a vintage store might be stretching it a bit ... they have some vintage items, but a lot of new stuff that's completely overpriced. I saw cheapo plastic earrings (80s style, but ones they still make now) for $15, fishnet shirts(which they also still make) for $30, and a whole lot of other cute but wayyyy overly marked up items that you can find at Claire's or on Ebay for so much less. We even saw a selection of crappy concert t-shirts. I guess you could call them "vintage", but a late 90s Papa Roach t-shirt for $30 is stretching it a LOT! If I had more money, I would probably browse the vintage items they do have, because it looks like they have a nice selection of boots, purses and things like that, but I was turned off by the items that were just outrageously overpriced. Might be back if I'm desperate for costume gear, but probably not. read more
