It's right above the harbor in Ballen. We ate inside with a view to the harbor. The lunch menu is traditional Danish. So go with the flow and order open faced sandwiches and beer. I had the "star shot" (stjerneskud"), which is a fried flounder/place fillet on French bread, then covered with tiny Greenland shrimp and caviar on top of the shrimp. Plus a slice of lemon and remoulade sauce. The "star shot" was both beautiful and tasty. One is a full meal. The service was friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. Note: I had "stjerneskud" at a couple of restaurants the following week. Skipperly's was by far the best. Extra credit: A Copenhagen chef invented and named "stjerneskud" when Soviet Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin ate at her restaurant in 1962. The fish fillet looks vaguely like a rocket -- if you squint your eyes.

The staff is excellent and provides good suggestions in wine and helps to provide a great atmosphere. This is not a cheap place to eat but compared to other restaurants in Denmark in the same league you get good value for money. Further the restaurant is situated in the center of Kerteminde just next to the harbour and if you come by ship you can get served on your own ship. If you have to buy a ship the overall experience might be overpriced!

As we remember from that age; visiting "granny" was all about fun and games, right? Since 1977, this grill bar still retains its retrolicious interior, and its original owner has been serving costumers with spring rolls, chop suey, chickens and french fries and whatever. The place has a high rate of regulars, some even from miles away. Dishes prepared in few moments, a wide selection of chinese and traditional danish fast food, and portions in a size that won't let a man down. Recommended are the chop suey (select pork, beef, chicken) and the home-made spring rolls. Take-away is preferred, but eat-in is possible for those enjoying a standing supper. Five star rated since the place keeps its promise, and never had disappointed me one single time in + 20 years.

I seems that the Danish like eating early. We arrived at 7 p.m. and the restaurant was quite full. An hour later it was quite empty. Anyhow, the menu is the usual of a Chinese Restaurant. They did not have any vegetarian dishes, but we were told that they would make a vegetarian dish based on what we would like to have. And so my friend selected a dish in the vegetarian version (which was good) and I took the buffet. The buffet had 2 soups, sushi (!), a salad bar, many dishes. Some dishes were typically Chinese, but with fried shrimp, fried squids and ribs and French fries you could almost make an American menu out of it. The desert was not very Chinese, several cakes and fruit - enjoyable. And coffee/tea are also part of the buffet. The food was not particularly exciting or special, but a large variety, quality was good and service was very flexible and friendly.
