The first time we showed up just when the fair opened on the weekend, and parking was ample, so we didn't upgrade. When we returned on a later day after school, we upgraded the parking so we could get in right away. Either way. I finally know my way around: we entered through YesterYear village. I prefer leaving this way as well, as there is some space for kids running around and some benches in the village to chill and sit, plus a bathroom to use, before leaving. And... they had these giant hot glazed donuts that might have made its way into my hands for the ride home! On our tamer first visit, we looked at all the animals, and pet all the animals - my favorite part! Parade: short, certainly not worth 'waiting' for. The ice show: interesting. it was free. I appreciate the attempt to make a pirate themed ice show but some of the costumes fell short. People were snickering around us, which didn't help. Thank you to the awesome ice skaters! A cool spot to 'rest' in an air-conditioned indoor space on a hot day. The magic show: well my kids loved this. Silly, but they loved it so much they wanted to see the exact same show on their return visit. Pirate acrobat show: my younger kid liked it a lot, my older son could barely tolerate, but for me it was a miss (the pirate theme, especially). Acrigulture mini-fun row: this was so fun for my kids. Saddling fake horses, scooping fake poop, milking a fake cow: they thought this was golden. Fair food: we ate these giant donuts that were super reasonably priced for the amount of donut and filling we received. Note to self: no one ever finishes anything: bring ziplock bags because they complained they wanted to 'eat it later.' I let my kids get cotton candy, and some other ice cream concoction another time. They mostly ate the same kid theme of chicken tenders, fries, burgers, pizza. I mostly ate their leftovers- because they were finished by the time I could think about finding my own food. And then I added on some arepas later- so overpriced but delicious in the moment. My kids loved the kids rides. We bought the fastpasses, which were unnecessary on the kids rides, but a lifesaver when they moved to the adult rides. It's so fun for them to be able to repeat their favorite rides over and over. I did just buy tickets the first time, but the unlimited wristbands ahead of time. Note to self: splurge on purchasing the wristbands ahead of time! My kids begged to return every day. Why is the fair so long?! J/K... please extend LOL

It's carnival season and the South Florida State Fair is back! We purchased tickets in advanced so…read moreentrance was easy. The parking system was well organized and we were directed throughout. This year, the fair is Pirate themed. Upon entering, there is an exhibition of Black Beard's ship and all its treasures. The fair for me, is all about the food and games. There was so much to choose from. Turkey legs, corn dogs, funnel cakes and fried everything. A first for me was the fried gator on a stick. It wasn't bad at all. They were lots of games and rides for everyone. Keep in mind the biggest wheel is separate from the other rides even with an unlimited ride pass. It's an additional $7 per person. We also had to join another line to get our wrist bands. The lines moved fairly fast so this wasn't a problem. Also available, was the "Yester Year" village or as some know it, the cracker settlement. There is also a petting station for the kids. Lots of ponies, llamas and goats. I even saw a few chickens running about. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean their bathrooms were. This is an automatic 5 star rating for me. The fair runs from 12pm - 10pm. This year, there is a downloadable app with all info as well as their scheduled shows. Already excited about next year!

Instructor Ocean would be great for privates when we are ready, especially to help me refine figure skating technique. I have SO enjoyed my time in her group class. A couple of the other instructors here have been really skilled and friendly as well. I come here with my son for Learn to Skate with hopes for my son to move onto the Learn to Play program. In just one season we have already made many friends and both improved our skills which we plan to continue.

At 1:00 it wasn't too busy, but by 2:30 the crowds were here. It was a hot steamy afternoon at the Abaca Town Center Amphitheater to sample local brews, exotic wines, and samples of liquors paired with live music, food, and a few interactive games. There were about 30 vendors and enjoyed sampling, Tequila, Scotch, vodkas, cider, local wines, brews.... We left with a couple of cans of vodka spritzers and some alcohol swag at about 3:30.

I invited my bestie and set off to this adventure, we took the Tri-Rail north to West Palm Beach and we were ready to have a good time! Upon check in we received two drink tickets and four taster tickets each (was plenty). The event was a the Meyers Amphitheatre which has a stage for performance and a big field. We noticed it was quite empty for this big space. We walked around and checked out the vendors and had some bites before we consumed the drinks. I must say the food vendors were delicious here is my list of food vendors I tried: Nancy's Cajun Cooking: Jambalaya $8 - We had one of the best Jambalaya's I've ever had. There was hot sauce to add but it didn't need any. Had plenty of chunks of seafood, meat & chicken. Aioli: Candied Bacon $3 x 2 slices - It was instant gratification on the first bite. My face said it all and the girl behind the counter said "I told you it was good". Indeed it was! Sxs: had fresh oysters. I didn't buy anything here but Alex made me try an oyster that tasted like it had just been plucked out the sea. So fresh, so good. I will make it a point to go visit their restaurant. Mad Hops: a vendor that sales drops to add to bad beer. Yes you read correctly... they have flavored drops to add for example a Miller lite. They have many flavors including cherry, blueberry, hops etc. Great idea but I rather never ever buy bad beer. There was a beer tent where you can sample different beers, most I knew (Funky Budha), some I haven't tried before (Five & 20). They were poured into 4 oz tasting cups. What I did not like is that the bartenders did not know what they were pouring, they knew nothing about the products. I saw many festival goers ask about the types of beers and recommendations and heard the girls say they didn't know anything about the beers, they were just serving them. In my opinion I think this is crucial to have bartenders know what they are serving, it is a beer festival and you should know a little bit about it. There was also another tent serving drinks in a plastic mason jar for $14 and refills were $12. Those drinks were good and strong. The bands that were playing were mostly Alternative Rock, I felt bad because the crowd just wasn't there. No one was jamming by the stage everyone was mostly walking around, eating and drinking. Also they were playing radio commercials in between bands, that was quite annoying. The highlights were meeting fellow Elite Raymond K. and his wife. They were awesome. Raymond hooked it up with some grub from the VIP tent sponsored by 3 Forks. I have to say their food was amazing. I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Filet Mignon with Bearneise sauce on the side, oh so delicious! There was also a tattoo competition that was pretty funny to see. Proceeds of this event went to Friends of Foster Children, that was sweet. Overall, I had a great time but I think this festival needs some work. Entry should include a drink or a taster. I think it was a little expensive considering the beers were mostly known beers and not that exclusive for it to be a Craft Beer festival. I think with less expensive tickets or a better package there will be more attendees. Also having the bartenders learn more about the beer that they are serving is a plus. It takes place at the Meyer Amphitheater in downtown West Palm Beach. We were able to sample at least over a hundred local craft spirits and beers offered by several venues and there were quite a few food vendors to get bites from when you got hungry. When I went on opening night, I was surprised to see that it wasn't busy. On the other hand, it was nice not having to wait in line to get drinks or food. There was a variety of spirits and cocktails that were generously poured by each bartender. The food options weren't too shabby either. The three cheese grilled cheese and candied bacon from Aioli is a must if you go there. Plus, there was a local band playing music for all to enjoy while sipping and eating. The weather was perfect. It wasn't too chilly or too warm for the festival. It was nice having to be outside without having to wear a sweater to warm up on. The food and beverages were plentiful and good. The staff was upbeat and happy to serve whatever we wanted. Thank you Yelp West Palm for the awesome opportunity and all of the tickets that came with it. Cheers!

Beautiful blue sky, sunny, and so glad it wasn't raining but I believe this was the hottest day of…read morethe year so far. I was melting as soon as I got out of the car... thankfully the event was well organized and the "check-in" was a breeze. We got our tickets at the "will call" tent and in less than 2 minutes we were in. Immediately greeted with our tasking beer mug to quench the thirst. Tents were labeled clearly, including Yelp, first in line, helping welcome everyone. They had some tents for crafts, jewelry, and clothing vendors, as well as some wine, vodka, and tequila brands. The breweries' tents each had at least 2 different beers from their line for us to taste. Everyone was very friendly, explaining the differences between the beers they were offering, and some even took the time to learn a little about your beer taste to make recommendations. Was surprised how even being so hot outside, they managed to maintain the beers cold which was so much appreciated and so refreshing. Plus the amount of beer served was great, not that sip you usually get at some other tasting events, and if you liked it, you could come back for more. I'm not too familiar with beer, just recently I started enjoying drinking it at social gatherings or with friends so I love these types of events to help me learn more and have more options for what to bring to a party or serve my friends when entertaining. Obviously I was able to find some I liked here. Between all my tastings here's the ones I'll be adding to my "Beer List": Rooney's Old Irish Ale Widmer Brothers Brewing Alchemy Ale Coronado Brewing Company Idiot IPA (must admit I tried this one for the name) :p Breckenridge Brewery SummerBright Know Breing Wilua Ale I loved that they had a selection of local beers on tap like Holy Mackerel, The Native, TBC and more. Now, this was also a Burger event so of course we tried those too. I don't know how many there were to try but I do remember my favorite ones. Chuck, in my opinion, definitely wins the "Best Burger" title. That burger was perfection. Classic, juicy, flavorful, comforting... Not surprised at all they got the "King of all Burgers" title last year. My "Best Alternative" went to Cha Cha's with their slider Kale & quinoa burger with humus on whole wheat. My last award, the "Most Innovative Burger" went to Vic & Angelo's Saltimbocca Burger. This was a sage infused burger with black garlic aioli, sun-dried tomato marmalade, prosciutto di parma, gorgonzola dolce and baby spinach. All I can say is I want more!! Absolutely amazing that burger... Other two worth mentioning were the ones from III Forks and Four Seasons. This was their Second year doing this event and, by what I experienced, I'd say (and hope) they have many more years to come. It was an excellent event, fun, delicious, and great way to promote their businesses. Making a note to lookout for next year's dates.

We arrived at PGA National and walked into the lobby, there were no signs showing where Beerfest was actually being held. Myself, my husband and a few groups of other people walked straight to where a wedding was taking place. We finally found someone who could direct us on where to go. The check in lines were long and confusing. We went into the first room, it was full, but not quite wall to wall, yet. We got into the bigger ballroom, it was packed, you couldn't move, you had to wait in line for most beers. A lot of the vendors were giving out warm beer and cider because they couldn't keep up with the demand. I was so looking forward to food, and I was hugely disappointed, there was only 2 food stations (that I saw) both had lines wrapping around the room, no thanks. We did get to try some good beers and ciders, but overall it was a terrible experience just due to the amount of people that attended. Next year they need to either hold it in a larger area or not sell so many tickets.
