Hello everyone, my name is Dr. Gabriela Rolland-Asensi. I am writing you to provide a response to those who post critical or negative reviews. Like many pediatric dentists, my job consists of dealing with anxious children and their anxious parents on a daily basis. Anxiety is a powerful emotion that can cause fright in children and anger in parents. Trust me; no one wants to hear that their children have cavities.
As a pediatric dentist, I have built my reputation through success with complex and challenging cases; and I love it. I spend a tremendous amount of time educating parents about oral hygiene, nutrition and diet. This includes telling parents to stop giving their children a baby bottle as late as age 6, or to stop giving a pacifier to their children as late as age 5. These necessary messages are not always welcome.
Working in this profession for the past 18 years, I have enjoyed the exciting advances in technology. With the rise of social media in particular, I understand the many benefits to us all. Unfortunately, there also exists the easy avenue to express anger or fear by posting negative reviews. My request to you is this: Please do not let irate people guide you as you evaluate the professional who will look out for your child.
Along with this request, I invite you to know, I have the best interest of my little patients at heart. I wish I could brush all my patient's teeth every morning and every night, but that is impossible. I wish I could be with all my patients to guide them when they are hungry, snack too often, or when my toddler patient is given a baby bottle with milk every night. I can however, bring the best of my expertise and professional experience to each dental visit.
As background, I have had the joy of studying dentistry twice in my life in two different countries. I also spent 3 years in a highly respected children's hospital under the umbrella of one of the best universities in Florida to learn my specialty, the wonderful and rewarding field of Pediatric Dentistry. I hold a leadership position in the same children's hospital where I was trained; and have been elected by my peers to the position of Chief of the department of Dentistry at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. I have been a pediatric dentist for 18 years. I am neither a rookie, nor a "dinosaur".
Along with my entire team, I am committed to provide the best possible treatment in a comfortable, safe and enjoyable environment. Come see us and judge for yourself.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to consider my request,
Gabriela Rolland-Asensi, DMD, FAAPD
