Located in the strip mall, Mia Pasta is a growing chain of pasta bars in Quebec.
The kitchen is located right in the front of the restaurant, where all the chopped vegetables, meats and dressings are neatly laid out, next to the grill.. As you walk in, it feels something like a cross between a small restaurant and fancy food court. You can order Asian dishes - pad thai or a teriyaki stirfry - or go with more than a dozen types of sauces, paired with your choice of Italian pasta. The portions here are pretty hefty and not bad for $9-14. There are specials every day that are only $7.95, that includes a dessert and a drink.
If you want something other than noodles, there are pizzas, soups and salads available as well. We tried the minestrone ($3/bowl) and it was really well made, chock full of vegetables.
I tried the alfredo ($10) with linguine, which had button mushrooms, spinach and sauteed red onions. It was good, but not as tasty as the alfredo at Mike's across the street. It would be nice if some fancy mushrooms were available! While it's not my first choice, I like the fact that the food is available within 10 minutes and makes it a quick meal when I have to hit the road.
Great for a crowd if you're all craving something different.
