MI EVENT DJs was not the vendor I hoped they would be. When my daughter and son-in-law made the initial contact and found out that Tom was not available they should have stopped and thought about what this might mean; the person with all the experience was not available, should they trust the suggestion to go with his wife instead? Based on reassurances from Tom, they decided to book with his wife Cindy as the DJ. Unfortunately, it turned out to be not such a good decision for us.
As the father of the bride I cannot tell you how disappointed I was in what I perceived as the lack of professionalism Cindy displayed. I'm not sure what might have happened if Tom had been available, but I hope MI EVENT DJs learn to not suggest Cindy as a substitute. Not being a professional DJ, I trusted they would take good care of us and hoped for the best. I trusted these folks to provide a quality sound system and a DJ who knew how to use it, unfortunately it seemed like Cindy was neither. The quality of the sound was bad and her MC skills certainly seemed to be lacking (and that's being polite). A simple request to play a polka for the bride to dance with her nana was ignored and no communication as to why was provided. The list of issues were many, but the important thing is the lesson I learned for our next daughter's wedding...be sure to research your vendor (attending an event or asking for an audition) before signing a contract. I can assure you these folks won't be in the running.
