We were here in early February. It wouldn't be hard to get a better waiter... he never asked us anything... like if we wanted an appetizer or if the food was good or if we wanted another drink... and he never even cracked a smile... We used to come here a lot, then stopped for awhile, and in 2022 we started coming back and were pleasantly surprised. We had three or four great experiences and then our last trip here in August was a pretty big disappointment. They were remodeling and it just didn't seem like anyone wanted to be here, from the chef to the waiters. This trip we thought we'd give it another go. And it seems it's not gotten any better since they've finished the remodel and downsized. Food was ok. One of us had Carnitas and the other one had a chili Relleno. The carnitas was pretty good, but the chili relleno was cold inside... yuck. After we returned it, to either have it heated up or get another one, a busboy brought it back to the table and the waiter never even asked if it was OK. When they set my food down, the gentleman picked up my silverware off my side plate and sat it on the table. I was purposely avoiding that because there was a little spot of dried bird poop on the table that had not been wiped away, and I did not want my silverware in it. I've never had a busboy or waiter touch my silverware. Anyway, I think we can permanently put this restaurant on our "don't bother" list, unfortunately. read more

Well before embarking on my trip, I made a list of places to dine in Cabo. One of them was, Mi Casa. It is located in the downtown area and it was Uber who took me there to have my Cena (dinner). Walking in, you are immersed in a short walkway, to get to the dining area of the restaurant. During that brief journey, you are treated to wonderful statues, wall hangings, sculptures depicting the rich culture, artistry and skill of the Mexican people. Once you reach the main area, there is artwork and crafts all around you. A wonderful ambiance, very unique, with perfectly volumed local music in the background. For starters, there is the complimentary chips and only one salsa. There was no habanero, so when I asked for it, a trio of salsas appeared, one of which was habanero. Looks like they missed the standard chips and salsa tray. Better late, than never. For my meal, it was the Camarones Aguardiente (Sauteed Baja shrimp in a garlic, guajillo & tequila sauce; served with rice and sauteed vegetables for 870 pesos). The dish arrived beautifully presented, on sharp eye catching crockery. Instead of rice, they supplied freshly made tortillas. The shrimp had a first time flavor for me, lovely optics too. Unfortunately, it was overcooked and rubbery to the bite. Service was scanty and callous. Still, a must visit place, for an evening out, in Cabo San Lucas. read more

I had very high expectations of this place, but the food was just awful they make you pay for the chips and salsa but OK everybody's doing it. My wife and I don't eat that much. We got a combination plate with ribs the portions were ok but the food was tasteless. When we bit into the ribs, they were dry cold and like a poor kind of meat, we complain to the manager. He looked at the ribs and shook his head. He took 50% off our bill, but I would probably never go back. The service was decent. I can't complain about that. read more

Mi casa is a great stop if you want very authentic Mexican food. They have a selection that ranges from Yucatán style to traditional and all the must-haves of Mexican cuisine. Many restaurants in Mexico have a very laid back and slow serving time but that it's the opposite at Mi Casa! This was some of our fastest serving time during our whole stay. They have Baja California cerveza (fat tuna) and large, tasty, and STRONG margaritas! All of the food is delicious and hits the spot if you're looking for traditional Mexican flavors. My personal favorite was the Mole Poblano because it was worlds better then anything in the States. Only downside is that they have several tip seeking gimmick performers in the restaurant including a mariachi band, balloon animal clown, and a fortune telling bird, plus a women in the restroom who will turn on faucets for you, pick your stall, and wipe down your seat. While this is common at many restaurants in Cabo, normally there is just one performer so you only have to say "No" once, whereas here you do have to fend off multiple vendors. To be fair, the mariachi music is good and the bird fortune teller is kinda cool, so if you're okay with the dinner interruptions and that experience then more power to you read more

The size of this place is amazing. The main entrance has a bar right there and then you enter the gift shops. Yes, multiple rooms filled with all different kinds of things that seem to be of very high quality and refreshingly not a repeat of the latest fads that seemingly every single shop on the street is attempting to sell to tourists. For those that might think a gift shop, or whatever else you might want to call it, within a restaurant is a negative you would be missing something by not going here. Beyond the walls of the shops extends the amazing open restaurant itself. If you hear banging while you are at your table it might be from the mango trees above with fruit falling on the select roofs to protect the guests. There is a station not far in making fresh tortillas and when you get to your table you will be asked it you want to have a bird you choose from two in a cage come out and select a fortune for you. Of course there will Mariachi available too for your entertainment if you desire. All the above is a great start for the food which adds the finishing touch. To start I had the El Queso Fundido A la Mexicana - Melted Monterrey Cheese, mixed  with mexican salsa & seasoned with tequila, which was amazing. For the main course I had the catch of the day, sea bass, Talla - Rubbed with a mixture of dried chiles and herbs, grilled on charcoal. If the above is not enough the margaritas here seem to be stronger than everywhere else I had traveled for the week. Two was enough to close out another amazing dinner and for me another amazing trip to Cabo. I have been coming here for 14 years and it has been 8 years since my last visit to Mi Casa. Incredible dining experience! Best meal that we ate while in Cabo. We made a reservation the day of for 7pm and they were able to seat us. The interior is so decorated and festive. They also have an outdoor seating area in the back. You'll walk by the lady making homemade tortillas and churros on your way to your table. We each had the Mexican combo since we wanted to try several of their traditional dishes. I had the carnitas, lobster enchilada and mole chicken which were all incredible. The table side guac was also delicious. They have a mariachi band playing and the service was phenomenal. It's pricey but worth it in my opinion. Went for lunch. The building is fun and big. The sashimi appetizer was good. Ordered the shrimp which was okay but the price was a bit out of the flavor range. 2 margaritas which tasted like skinny girl mix, the sashimi and the shrimp was $78. The shrimp alone was like 35- which was for 5 shrimp. The food was okay. The price was not. Not sure what I missed. For reference my dinner at Roasted was $115 for a nice salad and the special dinner for 2 which had 2 lobster tails, 6 jumbo shrimp and a huge piece of fish with vegetables and rice. Great mexican food. Their chicken poblano mole is the best that I have had so far- very soft chicken with a distinctly flavorful mole sauce. We also tried the shrimp cocktail and 5-stars for that too! Beware that the additional antics need to be tipped. Like the bird fortune teller, musicians - they perform for you at your table, expecting tips. Mi Casa also has adjacent stores selling mexican souvenirs. We mostly did casual little taco places while in Cabo for a week, but Mi Casa was a lovely way to mix it up with a nicer (and more expensive) dinner. The interior was so nice. We ordered a bit too much for the two of us and had leftovers to take back to our airbnb. I wish I had another one of those salads right now - it was so delicious (I'm a weirdo who loves salad), but everything else was good too. Especially the handmade corn tortillas. Service was normal. There was a mariachi band going around, which isn't my jam (just feels awkward to have them standing around the table), so we said no thank you and then tipped them anyways. We wanted to take a few of our friends for a nice dinner at Mi Casa, the waiter was very attentive. We had 1 drink each and each of us ordered an authentic Mexican dinner, chicken mole, carne Asada, chicken tamale, and three enchiladas finished our dinner off with a few shots of tequila 2 total, the food was mediocre at best. The shocker was the bill $350 for four people to have Mexican dinner.. we paid for mariachi singers, the in-house artist to draw two pictures which he made the exact same picture twice not what we requested. Mi Casa is my go to spot for Chicken Poblano Mole. It's very authentic just like my Mom use to make. My wife likes their Carnitas and my daughter the Carne Asada with handmade tortillas. Hoping to find a great Mexican restaurant in Cabo. Read good reviews on MI Cabo and fingers crossed. Unfortunately, I did not find what I was looking for. First,let me start with the positives. Very friendly staff. Hostess, bus boys, waiters-everone. Second, very pretty inside and nice ambiance. The food....I only had the tortilla soup and it was good. Nothing to sing about, but good. My husband had a combo of clinical pibil, costillas, and carnitas. The costillas was OK, but the pivil and carnitas were very dry. The tortillas were horrible. The rice, beams ans salsa were goof but that was not the main course. I felt very sad because I really wanted to find a gem to come back to year after year. read more

That's when I'm most likely to tip! Did not like the magician, that interrupted our diner conversation, to show us some sleight of hand tricks (expecting a tip). I do not need someone in the bathroom telling which stall to go in, turn on the sink faucet, hand me a towel, and then take my towel to dispose for me (expecting a tip). I appreciate she kept the bathroom clean but you are not a 5 star restaurant. It would also be different if she offered mints, hand lotion, mouthwash, feminine products...then I would have tipped. Seems like it's a place to get really drunk, eat, and sing "tequila" at your table at the top of your lungs with a funky balloon hat on your head. We stumbled into this place because I love Mole and read that this restaurant was known for Mole. From the outside, it looks typical, but the inside is HUGE and they have a fresh tortilla making section and at least 2 bars. We ordered Mango Margaritas which were delicious. This is a must go restaurant for any visit to Cabo. Mi Casa has very unique flavors that you won't find it most restaurants. It is very reasonably priced for the quality and flavor of food. It tastes like elevated home cooking with incredible family recipes. We go here at least twice every trip to Cabo. Service is always amazing. The ambiance is perfect. It's very colorful and festive, but also homey. Not sure how it only got 4 stars on yelp. Trip advisor shows higher rating. read more
