During the two weeks I was in Paris in September I passed this shop several times and, among all the nice jewelry there, kept admiring a certain type of necklace in the window that came in different color schemes - a little hard to describe, but sort of like little bronze colored metal rimmed discs covered in patterned fabrics, that had been soldered together into a larger form and came on a special kind of chain. When I travel I like get a little something for myself in memory of the trip, usually pretty inexpensive. The day before I was to leave, I spotted in the window the necklace in EXACTLY the perfect color combination for me.
The woman in the shop turned out to be the jewelry designer herself, who was very open and gracious and told me about her design work, growing her business and how the piece was made. At first I'd been doing my best to use what French I could, but she speaks English quite well.
The price, though not expensive, was more than I'd originally intended to spend, but as soon as I handled the necklace, I could tell how substantial and well made it was. I tried it on and that was that. It's mine now, with no regrets. As a creative person, she says she continues to develop new designs; her jewelry is unique, not a clone of what everyone else is wearing. If I manage to get to Paris again, I'll stop by to see what's new. The Yelp system made me select only one price range category, but I would say there are moderately priced items here as well as pricey, read more
