Offering such high-end designers as Mauboussin and Boucheron as well as a fantastic representation from all over France, there is a lovely focus on Art Deco and important pieces from the era What drew us into the shop was a particularly wonderful pair of coral clips as well as a pearl ring - but it was hard not to ask to try on everything Mr Tharin had in stock! Our visit was extremely enjoyable - we were treated to a thorough history of the shop, the various pieces Mr Tharin has acquired over the years and how the Louvre des Antiques is under threat of being converted to a huge shopping mall - which would be a huge disappointment! On a side note - if you have an opportunity to visit Louvre des Antiques, DO IT! This is a piece of history that should be celebrated and recognized for what it is - it is not a generic shopping mall but a collection of boutiques, offering precious & important antiques from jewelry to furniture that are a once in a lifetime, unique, treasures.... We left the shop with pics - which are encouraged - and a final asking price so we could think about such an investment....and before our holiday was over, we decided the pieces were too fabulous to pass up. We hope Castiglione Bijoux and the Louvre des Antiques continue to thrive, and especially that the Louvre des Antiques reverts back to its former splendor: fully occupied with lovely, fine antique shops..... as we plan to return over Christmas and every additional visit we make to Paris

I came on a trip specifically to collect antique jewelry, but so rude to expect me to just pick from the first thing she shows me. Absolutely stuck up shop. I'm not surprised by the owners comments below. Insulting me and my husband in his review below. We are both entitled to review the rudeness we experienced. Telling us we have "sad lives" further proves my point. You should sell exclusively online if you can't act humanely towards others. I am not a competitor. I was hoping to be a customer.

Everything was bright, shiny and sparkly. Luca greeted me on the first floor. He took his time showing me their collections. I specifically wanted to check out their bee my love collections - rings and bracelets. He took me upstairs, grabbed me some delicious macarons and a nice chill glass of champagne. Luca was so professional and friendly, taking my ring sizes and making sure I felt comfortable with the sizes. He talked about the history of Chaumet, their relation to the Olympics medal designs, all while trying on jewelry. It was my first Chaumet piece - a standard ring, but the whole experience made me feel like I purchased one of their most expensive tiaras. I will definitely be coming back every time I come to Paris.

Gudule, situated at a busy intersection a few blocks from the St-Michel metro stop, is fantastic. I've popped in here twice during respective visits to Paris and have always been impressed with the selection of earrings, pendants, and other stones. It's hard to narrow down your purchases to a few items because everything in here is so beautiful. You pay by the gram, which can easily add up, but this is quality jewelry and well worth the prices. My two sets of earrings from here have stood up to constant usage over the last few years. Excellent shop! Next time I see you Paris, I'll certainly be making a stop at Gudule again.
