I browsed around and was obsessed with their beautiful murals, their typography they have around the restaurant and even their bathroom is a cool spot to spend a few minutes (ha). The margarita was on happy hour and definitely made me very happy! And their guacamole was on point! But as I went to leave I was informed about their best sales point of all -- their rooftop bar! I returned later that evening to hang out on their rooftop deck to enjoy a great live band, delicious cocktails and stare longingly at their BEAUTIFUL mural on the wall by @adamisaacjackson -- this ALONE is worth the trip. I can't wait to go back and El Conejo is a staple of the amazing vibe of Sayulita.

We sampled the papaya salad (one of the best I've ever tasted), coconut fried rice with yellow curry, drunken noodles with shrimp and mango sticky rice. This was my first time trying mango sticky rice and I'm glad I did it here because Mexico has such excellent mangos. It was fantastic and is now a new favorite. The curry rice was also delicious but for me, was a lot of food, which is not a bad thing. A great value actually since I got three meals out of it! They also serve margaritas by the pitcher, which is literally illegal in the ridiculous state we are from so we were very excited at this option. The full pitcher was a bit much for 2 but my friends, not to worry! They do a half pitcher!!! Our server was so nice and did a great job. Food came out very quickly as well. Everything was packaged well (lids taped on, sauce servings with lids, wrapped in cling film. The food was tasty. While I was not much more than 5 minutes back to the hotel, the egg rolls were soggy. The sweet and sour sauce for them was very good, great flavor and not overly thick. I asked for the curry to be hot, but not too hot, it was pretty mild. Definitely worth giving it a shot when you're looking to switch things up. Like most of PV, it was good and it was spendy (about 1,400 MXD for 2 mains, combination fried rice and 3 pork egg rolls + 1 lemonade).

Each morning, we enjoyed espressos before our walks.​ The food is outstanding. The steak was a highlight--perfectly cooked and flavorful. I tried the pesto salmon, and while the flavors were delightful, the salmon was slightly overcooked. The tempura was a standout--crispy, light, and not at all greasy. The bruschetta was also delicious. They have a huge menu and plenty to explore if you're staying for a while. Note: they are closed on Tuesdays! We were bummed about that, but happy to have had it one night during our stay!

A bottle of wine and our appetizer arrived promptly. The salad quickly followed. Then we waited. And watched the place get very busy. And waited. At 8:00 I called our waiter over and politely asked if our entrees were near. I was assured they were. At 8:30, I caught his attention and asked (with much frustration) what was going on. At 8:45 (2.5 hours after ordering), I told him to cancel our entrees and bring the check. At 9:00 pm we received our food. I first told him to take it back, but then relented. THREE hours after arriving. It's not the miss, it's the response. No one seemed to care at any point. The GM or chef didn't show up with an apology. No entrees were comped. This also happened to us last Valentine's Day when they were swamped. I told them I would never be back and promptly cancelled our reservations for today, Valentine's Day 2026. We have friends visiting over the next months and have cancelled plans with them as well.
