I drove past this place once, turned around passed it again and made it half way down the street before deciding to make another U turn to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I don't know if you've ever been served a meal in a plastic bag (i.e. The Boiling Crab in San Jose, CA or The Boil in NYC) but I bought half of a rotisserie chicken with potatoes, onions and peppers on the side...or in the bag. Let me tell you, this was the biggest surprise of my trip. The chicken was excellent! Savory and garlicky with the perfect amount of heat it was absolutely delicious. The best part is that for half of a chicken with the sides, it cost 33 Mexican Pesos...that's about $1.70USD! Unbelievable! I highly recommend this place. If you're ever in Mexico City, I strongly advise you to take the drive to La Leña.

There is excellent, authentic Chinese food in CDMX, but Narvarte or Viaducto Piedad was just too far to go today. My Chinese husband actually likes Panda Express, so the three stars rather than one or two. The food is sweet, gummy Chinese inspired American. If you are used to US Panda Express, it's pretty similar, except no Hot and Sour Soup, which is the only thing I eat there. Most dishes taste exactly alike. The Kung Pao Chicken differs from the Teriyaki only in the addition of vegetables and some spice. The noodles are ok, but a bit pasty and oniony. Service was fast, but I did not appreciate the server sporting his mask below his nose. We had take away. The venue is bright, spacious and accommodates groups.
