If someone asked me where a good place to eat on the lake is I would not say this restaurant. This place wouldn't even cross my mind. The food is okay. My tacos looked great plated, but when I put them in my mouth they were luke warm. They cost almost $13 This place is in the crazy horse marina so they get a lot of people coming in off the lake to eat here. Today we came to eat here because it was raining & we wanted to get out of it. They have outdoor seating that is covered and a good bit of overhang so we asked to sit outside, and they said they weren't seating anyone outside because of the rain...umm, okay(?!) We ended up waiting for the rain to stop under their walkway & when it finally stopped we were able to sit outside. Which was nice. The view is pretty! But because they're right off the water I also found it odd that they don't allow dogs in their outside area. But maybe I'm just a huge animal lover so it's odd to me ‍

I'd say as far as Mexican food goes by the lake - this is going to be tops. After a long day jet skiing my fiancee, dad and I were starving. We were staying at Bernard's Landing for the weekend so to Yelp I came to find someplace decent in the area to eat. I'm a health nut most days and wanted something with fresh ingredients. Not much around SML for lunch will fit that bill. This place is very nearby to Bernard's and was pretty highly recommended on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. At first when we pulled onto the Crazy Horse road I feared we'd pull up to an old building that was closed down and the restaurant would be gone but when we arrived it was open and we were greeted by a friendly man who led us down to the outdoor seating by the lake. It's a gorgeous view and the weather was very nice. We were promptly served very warm and yummy chips with salsa and white sauce. Our server was attentive, polite and very fast. We rarely waited for anything and when we asked for something it was very quickly provided. He was excellent. I ordered the table side guacamole which they asked if they could make it upstairs and bring down - fine by me. But they did ask about all the ingredients I wanted and the spice level just as they would if it were made table-side. It arrived quickly and was delicious - we tore it up. My dad ordered the mixed grill fajitas with chicken and steak and a ton of grilled peppers and onions. My fiancee ordered the carne astada tacos (he always does) and he absolutely raved about them. He is really picky about tacos and such since his grandmother from California is Mexican and made them when he was little but he was very impressed with their version and commented that the meat was thick and juicy and not tough or chewy as he's had before. He finished all three and didn't even touch his rice or beans (he said he needed to prioritize the space). lol. I ordered the spinach enchiladas which were served with black beans and white rice. The black beans were yummy and while I wish they had put a bit more spinach in the sad enchiladas - they were yummy. Our meal was very pleasant. We had fresh, good food, excellent service and a beautiful view.

Can I live here please? They have a tequila bar, a beautiful view, boat dock, and Mexican food. What more could you ask for to enjoy a summer day on the water? We were seated very quickly and delivered waters almost immediately (thank you, we were parched!). We ordered margaritas and strawberry daiquiris as well and they were delicious (and strong!). We ordered arroz con pollo, beef tacos, and a burrito, as well as chips and queso. The chips and salsa were complimentary. Everything tasted great and we really enjoyed the service, which was attentive and helpful with suggestions. All portion sizes were big so consider splitting if you get full easily. I'd recommend this restaurant if you're in need of a food stop while out boating on the lake. Be sure to visit the gift shop downstairs for some goodies as well!

Love the food and drinks! The view is beautiful and the employees are friendly. It's a good time!

Ok people, this is Smith Mountain Lake, you cannot expect to have a 5 star Mexican cuisine in this part of VA. After a great day on the water, boat over, tie up, have a few Margaritas, some decent food and relax with a fantastic view of water and Mountains. If you are cool the staff and bartender are super cool and will set you up. But, if you act like a pretentious jerk from Northern VA, then you will be treated accordingly...

the tiny amount of Queso we got for $7

I wish I could give this place a bette rating because the food was delicious. BUT there was a large charge for to go for each meal we ordered and the queso was $7 for less than a shot worth. Absolutely ridiculous trying to milk money like that for a stupid small amount.

We had high hopes. SLOW service and ok food. We won't go back during the summertime. Hopefully it will be better when less busy.

The meals are reasonably priced (you can "build" your own meal starting at $10.99 for two items). My plate was barely warm but the manager reheated it. Temperature really improves flavor. The read sauce was delicious. I wouldn't order a quesadilla again but I will try other items on another visited. The burrito was yummy. One of my guests had the chicken fajita. There was only one tiny piece of broccoli in her veggies. She only orders this item and it was the first time it was just passable and not extraordinary. (Her four time winning streak ended) The place is comfy. If you get chilly, pick a table not directly beside the doors. The staff is nice. Even in chilly weather, the place was filling up during "rush hour." I can only imagine how crowded this place gets in the summer. I rate this place a B. There is something for everyone. You can order decent Mexican food that isn't as great as Cancun Restaurant. (But we don't have to travel as far)

The broth wasn't flavorful, and I had one piece of corn, one piece of carrot, one potato, and one piece of zucchini. The potato was cooked thoroughly, but it was really grainy, had a horrible texture. Th zucchini was so overcooked, the only reason I knew it was zucchini was because I seen the skin floating in the soup, it was just a spoonful of mush at the bottom of my bowl. There wasn't much flavor to the soup at all, but plenty of meat. One of my favorite soups, but I wouldn't get it again at this restaurant. The dip had a wonderful flavor, but was the consistency of juice... couldn't pick it up with a chip. I poured some onto the chips but didn't do much good. When they brought out my rice, I poured what remained on top. My dates food was decent, but I forget what it was called. The drinks were good, but I didn't really feel the alcohol.

Should have read my previous review of this place b/c I ended up getting fajitas again (its usually my go-to). Ordered the fajitas pina, which was a huge pile of chicken, steak, and shrimp, topped with grilled pineapple. It was pretty good, but they overcooked most of it; maybe its because we had a big group. It's a huge portion and comes with all the fixings to make a great taco.

Daleville seems to have a wealth of wonderful restaurants where one can go to enjoy an amazing dining experience. Today, I decided to invite a good friend of mine and go try it out. We arrived early to have an early dinner, since I called ahead of time and they told me they were closing early at 6:00pm. We arrived at around 4:00pm on a beautiful sunny day with blue sky and white clouds. We conveniently parked in their parking lot and walked up the stairs that went to the entrance of the restaurant. Before reaching it we passed by an area full of white and gray rocks, and little Christmas tree and a small statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She symbolizes God's love and care for humanity. After entering the restaurant and waiting for a short while in front of the Host's station, the host came by and greeted us with a warm welcome, and took us to one of several dining rooms and asked us to take a seat in one of the booths, as he handed us a copy of the menu. The menu was spiral-bounded, with nice and straight fonts and colors photographs of some of the main items in it. An employee came by, and brought us some tortilla chips in a basket, with a small glass carafe full of freshly made salsa, and two small bowls to pour the salsa in. Both the chips and salsa were some of the best that I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The chips were fresh, thin, and crispy, while the salsa was somewhat chunky with just the right spiciness. The the server came by and took our order. To drink we both ordered a glass of iced water. To eat my friend ordered a steak Fajita Quesadilla, and I ordered a Fajita Quesadilla Texana with steak, grilled chicken and grilled shrimps. The food arrived and it was amazingly delicious and plentiful. You can confirm this by looking at the photographs accompanying this review. And the sides including the rice and beans, with the lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole, perfectly completed the Quesadilla. I enjoyed every bit of it. For dessert we both ordered Churro Cups. It was a cup made out of churros that were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, filled with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and a cherry. What a way to finish off an amazing dining experience. In a short while this restaurant has become one of my favorites Mexican restaurant. The combination of original and tasteful decor, the best fresh chips and salsa, quality meats seasoned and cooked just right, and excellent customer service, makes it the ideal Mexican restaurant, which I highly recommend to all who are reading my review. I'm sure you're going to love it, and enjoy an extraordinary dining experience.
