It is beautiful with eclectic rooms. We had 2 rooms (7&9), both are on the top floor with views of the high street. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hosts were very friendly and gave us some recommendations of what to see/do in the area. The breakfast was just ok. Not many choices and some of it was serve yourself on a large table. I think they should also offer a traditional English breakfast. But for £90/night, it was a great stay.

Its a lovely, old building filled with an eclectic mix of articles picked up during the owner's world travels and its truly a fascinating place to stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was a good size and well furnished and the en suite shower room immaculate. The shower was large and quite powerful but the actual en suite room was a little cramped. This is not surprising since our room was sited in the roof space and this does give rise to some interesting beams! The breakfast was tasty and served in a delightfully quirky dining room, (you will understand if and when you see it!) Polite, well-managed and very comfortable I highly rate this place. The only drawback might be the windy stairs up to our room on the top floormight be too demanding if you are in any way incapacitated. I would try to secure a room on a lower floor if this might be a problem for you. Its a little expensive but its worth the extra I think

The downsides were: Demanding a swipe of your credit card before signing in even though my company pays. This is a pet hate of mine. The food, although very pretty, was expensive and tiny in the restaurant if you need to walk anywhere, which I did, there are no footpaths outside the hotel leading to the nearest major road. I had to walk in the road or on the wet grass, neither very satisfactory will dragging a wheelie case. The remote for the telly didn't turn it on, just off. The wifi in the room was almost non existent. Other than that fine :-)

The rooms were probably the most nicely decorated of anywhere I stayed in the UK on this trip. There is a small kitchen downstairs where you can pay for breakfast. The staff are very friendly. I think the best part was definitely the extremely convenient location. The gated entrance to the hotel basically drops right off at st nicholas market...an outdoor hallway basically with permanent food stands. We ate here all 3 days in Bristol and the food is super delicious and affordable.

The twin room was small but worked for me and my mother - the beds are very comfortable! The house is in a nice neighborhood that is fairly quiet at night -- the only noises that woke me up were birds just after sunrise. The kitchen is lovely and has nice chairs & a sofa where jetlagged visitors or insomniacs can go read a book without disturbing their traveling companion and Jeff says a day room is coming soon. Jay is a real whiz and does an amazing job keeping up the rooms the household and maintaining a beautiful garden. If you are athletic - you are only 2.75 mi walk/run from Bath University where the general public can swim in the 50m pool for only 3.25 pounds (it's an awesome pool). There's a bus line nearby and once you get your bearings - you will find it's no problem getting around but that traffic can be a bit of a bear in Bath. If you love animals - there's even a nice elderly black & white cat who guards the driveway from the springy cushion of a mini-trampoline in the garden of a neighborhing house as well as dogs dogs dogs EVERYWHERE if you just step out onto the street you'll meet them. Or you can go to the Cats& Dogs Home of Bath. I really liked the neighborhood and it's the kind of place I'd like to live -- access to Roman ruins in a cute town from a nearby village that is close to a 50m pool with cats and flowers everywhere? Can't go wrong can you? I found Beech Cottage through AirBnb - https://www.airbnb.co.uk/users/show/3021434 - it's my first experience with the site and so far they are making me very happy!

With a moderate walk, you gain access to the central core of this historic city. However, our July visit was plagued by the horrible breakfast fare. For the money, the management could really upgrade the selections. The main issue was the broken coffee machine. In the height of the tourist season why would you not make every effort to fix this machine immediately. We asked and got no satisfactory answer. Bad, bad, bad. The grocery store across the street was our savior. We bought some fresh breakfast items and brought them back to the hotel as a last resort. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The parking is very tight and limited. Come on guys, you can do better!
