When your regular old gym membership gets old, you need to check this place out. ;)…read more I've been a member for a little over a month and am absolutely loving it. When I came in for my consultation, I had never tried crossfit before but it was something I'd wanted to try for awhile- I was just working up the courage to take the leap. It can be so intimidating to walk into a new gym! Now I can say my only regret is that I didn't start sooner. Every single person I've met has been so welcoming and friendly. I really feel like I've found my people- motivated, committed to fitness, but also just fun and down to earth. Beyond the community, Jeff really puts together some great workouts. I love that they are always challenging, but also always scalable to any fitness level. All of the trainers are great at meeting members where they're at in their fitness journey. Even when I can't do the RX, I still feel like I've accomplished something at the end. I'm a marathoner and self admitted fitness junkie for some time, so crossfit has been the perfect way to mix up my workouts- always working to be stronger and faster.

The coaches are great, the people are great, the facilities are great. This gym has the organizational part down and makes it easy to go and bust out a workout and feel stronger and fitter at the end of the day. Facilities are clean, music is consistent and motivating. Coaches are present and active in encouraging improvement. If you are new to lifting you have the support to get better. Don't be shy people! Come on and try it out. Jeff, Pete and even the subs provide the positive feedback that no matter the fitness level, you are getting something out of it. It honestly will be very hard for me to go to a different gym now that I have had this first experience. The coaches here supported my thru hike from Mexico to Canada with constant support while I was on trail and not even an active member. That is real commitment to the client. Cheers and give this place a try

I completed my Six Week Bootcamp Challenge, and am writing the required, "honest" review included…read morein the terms when I signed up for my "Free" 6 week challenge which cost me, all told $441. But I get ahead of myself. I really want to give an honest, useful review, and I will write from good to bad. Food Program: 5 The diet and exercise program is effective, without being overly complex. In 6 weeks, following their required minimum attendance at 3 bootcamps (I did 4 for two weeks), and mostly following the food plan religiously, I lost 20.1 lbs and reduced my body fat % by 4.4. The results are there to be had, if you commit and don't get injured. They tell you up front that the weight-loss results are 80% from following the food plan rigorously, and I have to agree. The horror of my normal diet was revealed to me as I converted to a low-carb, high protein "clean" diet. I was not hungry ever, though changing habits to cook within the program limitations required some extra time. Nothing worthwhile is easy I guess. Exercise Program: 5 The workouts were excellent. High intensity circuit training, with variety every day. I was amazed to find out how thoroughly my body could be worked in no more than 45 minutes! Different trainers bring their individual styles, and after a couple weeks I knew which classes to attend for best satisfaction. (If you're new to exercise, have laid off for too long as I had, or generally don't know your kettle bells from your lats, please pay attention to the "Personalization" section, later.) Staff: 4.5 Generally decent. The front office staff involved in getting me started all knew their specific roles. Though the "on-boarding" seemed a little rushed, they do have a well-oiled system for getting more and more people into their system. As for trainers -- They all know what they're doing, and led fun classes. I found 3 regular instructors to be especially knowledgeable and willing to work above and beyond the minimums: Hat-tip to Alex Mariani, Andrew McWilliams and Justin Pleznik, who all contributed directly to helping me avoid injury!! Each person will find their own favorites, and these were mine. Personalization: 2 I entered the program as a sedentary 52 year old with back issues. I explicitly noted to everyone I talked to that my priority was not injuring my back. During the induction process, everyone assured me that there would be plenty of custom tailoring to my needs, but I found myself to be largely on my own in making sure I didn't push too hard, too fast. Know thyself! As I noted above, if you're new to exercise, circuit training, groups, free weights, etc., you will mostly be expected to figure everything out on your own, or by watching the regulars. Take things at a pace YOU can tolerate. Don't push too hard and injure yourself on day 1. No one will be telling you not to, aside from the general guidance to work to your own limits. For the price, I expected a little more personal attention to technique, form, etc. I got if from the three mentioned above, but I think those first couple classes are the balance point between a successful course, and a potential horrifying crash into injury. YMMV. Cost/Advertising: 1 I have two issues: First, false/misleading advertising, and second hidden prices/evasive answers. === False/Misleading Advertising === I responded to a Facebook Ad boldly touting a "FREE" 6-week challenge bootcamp. Within moments of entering my initial orientation, I was sat down to discuss cost. It's free, right? Well, "The Challenge is free... we normally sell that for $799, but we're giving it away to you! All you have to do is pay $294, for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks your "Membership will automatically continue at $49 per week. You can cancel any time after your six weeks, but you have to give us 30 Days cancellation notice..." tl;dr - this FREE challenge will cost you $294, which is -- wait for it -- $49 a week!! The same price you will continue having automatically debited after your six weeks ends. And if you're not careful, you're also locking yourself into 4 weeks BEYOND the 6 weeks. If their phrasing leads you to believe you can't give notice of quitting until after your six weeks is complete, you will be locked into 4 more payments of $49. To successfully leave this Six Week program you have to give 30 days notice before you even begin your THIRD WEEK! When I wanted to continue, but not at the VIP level, I asked for alternative price packages. They have nothing in writing to give me. I asked, what would the price be for the right to attend 3 classes a week, instead of unlimited. I was told $67 a week. That is insane, if my unlimited package is $49. Stop the misleading ads. Just tell people it is $49 a week, and no alternatives exist. The only reason I'm not continuing the program is because of this cost/evasiveness issue. Larissa (GM) was super, processing my cancellation quickly, with no hassles. Thank you

Long story short, and similar to a lot of the other poor reviews; Don't get suckered into the…read morepersonal training (PT) programs. They do what they can to squeeze extra money out of you, hidden within the contract terms. And they make it as hard as possible to end. First, I signed up before the gym was open and got the founders rate. They made it sound a lot like I would get the $8/month for the lifetime of my membership, for being one of the first to sign up. Turns out, that was only for 12 months. My fault for not reading deeply into the contract. Since that 12 months has expired, my $8/month rate has increased to $18/month (for the base rate). So much for loyal first members. I was also told that I would have access to the entire gym and its amenities as a founder, which was untrue as soon as I said I only want base rate. Which, if you don't want sauna or massage stuff (r+r) all you need is the base rate. Secondly, after maybe 8ish months of membership, I decided to look into personal training. I have aspiration of professional athleticism, so I was looking for workout and nutrition specifically tailored to my sports. They offered me the chance to sit with a trainer, Dan, build a workout plan that would match my needs as an athlete without fluff and stuff I don't need, as well as integrating new maybe more nuanced exercises that would help me specifically. I mentioned I also wanted nutrition, of which I was told we would build a meal plan and adjust it month by month based on needs and desired outcomes. The workout plan was an extremely basic copy and paste workout that you can find anywhere. generic splits, no movements tailored to my sports. After mentioning it to my designated trainer, Jorden, he said we'd get that fixed next month when this cycle was done. That did not happen, I had the same sheet that I was writing over my old lifts on because I didn't even get a new piece of paper. I stopped using it because it was getting crowded and felt like it wasn't even looked at so why use it. And the nutrition? I got that after 2 months, which was a packet of 3 pieces of paper that basically said "Eat protein, here's what good protein is, get your veggies and fruits, stay away from junk food and limit legumes because they're low content for high calorie". Fantastic, google AI could have mustered that up for me. After a couple months, work became a conflict and I couldn't go but I signed up for 6 months so I paid the rest out without going for my designated sessions, but I continued to go on my own time. I got the occasionally monthly check-in text to see where we were at with Jorden, but I couldn't make it on his time. Also, part of the reason I wanted PT was to check form because I don't feel like I properly activate certain muscles. His answer was, "it looks like you are using them, so I'm not sure why they aren't sore", paraphrased. Wonderful. When I tried to ask how to cancel, Jorden said I have to wait until the 6 months is up. Fine. Well fast forward, I forgot about the 6 months and it was after 8 months I checked my billing for my monthly fee, to notice I've been charged 4 extra times for training. I inquired as to why, to which I was told after the 6 months, you get billed monthly, at two installments. so $128 mandatory, but biweekly at $64. This is the cheapest package. I asked the desk about cancelling it, which I was told has to be done by the trainer. When I asked Jorden, he said I have to do it in person with a manager. So I stopped this morning when there was a manager, and was told I had to make an appointment in order to "sit down and discuss why it was I wanted to make that decision". So now I have an appointment in a few days to do that. By that time, I believe another billing cycle will hit and I will be charged another $128. The manager on shift (I cannot remember his name) called me minutes after I left from the appointment booking to ask what was up. I said I wanna cancel the month to month. He asked if there was a reason, I said I have talked with Jorden and it just doesn't work in my schedule to come in in the morning when they have trainers there. His response, summed up, was "alright well we'll see you on Sunday for your appointment and we can talk about it". There is no talk. Cancel and I'm done. I'll probably end up cancelling my membership if it takes more than 60 seconds. The machines are nice, good quantity and a great layout in the gym. If a machine is "out of order" it'll be 2 months before it's fixed though. seated calf raise machine was out for months with a sign on it.

As time went by HBO and the car wash both informed me I had to use a new card. No problem. I went to Planet Fitness finally they told me the same thing. My card had been turned off for about five months. When I first came in, I told the lady at the front desk about my situation. She had absolutely zero empathy or ability to think outside of the Tiny little box of training that she had in her head. very sternly, she cut me off before I could even explain and said I had to pay for all of the months that I did not use it and late fee for all of the months that they weren't able to charge my card. I explained to her what happened and that I understood I had to pay for the months, but did not think a late fee should be charged. I honestly would've gave in if she had just explained nicely the situation. But she was so harsh with me and looked at me with such anger in her eyes. It immediately "triggered" me. at this point, I demanded to speak with her boss. The boss was willing to waive the late fees, but was unwilling to even acknowledge that the lady at the front desk was extremely rude to me. She stood there over the Manager shoulder glaring at me. I just finally stormed out before I said something I'd regret. Sat in my truck and cooled off, and I started thinking about it. If I drive away now, will they continue wrapping up monthly charges? So be grudgingly I went back in and spoke with the manager and she said yes they were going to continue charging it and take me to small claims. I paid the bill right there minus the late fee and I told them they would never get another penny from me. Just so you understand. I am the perfect client for the fitness center. I hardly ever show up and when I do, I don't use showers or lockers or suntanning or any of that crap. I do a little work out by myself and I walk out. Sometimes all I do is use the massage bed. But the lady at the front desk couldn't see any of that. In fact, she couldn't even understand. I hadn't been there in a year and I was still willing to pay every month.!
