Do not trust these guys for one second. Not even a split second. I contacted them them via Carsales.com.au about a vehicle that they had available. On Friday, the salesman Stuart said that the car was under finance application by another person, but it was likely they would be denied, so they reposted the car and invited me to see it. I drove to their dealership (which is nice as they obviously make big money off their clients), and saw the car which seemed great. We were told by Stuart that the previous persons finance application was denied. So we negotiated a price (painfully) and we're introduced to their finance contact Michael at Simply Finance. We discussed finance options and decided to move forward with one of his recommendations. They were closed Sunday, and on Monday we had collected all of the documents necessary for the finance. I messaged Stuart that we had submitted all of the materials and we're excited to get the car. THIS IS WHERE IT UNRAVELS...
Stuart never messaged me back, I call him, no response. I call finance, no response. I call Stuart again, no response. I get a text message back on Tuesday saying that he's in Thailand on holiday. That's it, he's on holiday full stop. I ask him who's taking over our deal, no response. Hours later I get a message that says for me to call the dealership and see if the car is still available!?
I call the dealership, ask about my car that I put a finance application to, and the receptionist has no idea who I am. She tells me that the car I was calling about was sold to another woman and then gives me her full name. I tell her she must be wrong and that I need to speak with the owner or someone who knows what's going on. (ps. She probably broke some privacy laws by telling me this woman's name, and also having the dealership tell me that she was having extreme issues securing a loan, being denied 3 times - if i was her I'd be pissed.) Forwards me to some guys named Richard. Richard is going to find out what's happening and call me back in 15 min.... well, you guessed it, no call back. Next day Wednesday I call him again, he's not in until 11am, leave a message. No call back. Call again in the afternoon, he's with other clients. No call back.
So now it's Thursday, Richard calls me back at 5pm end of day - he sold the car to someone else just that day - apparently to the woman who's credit was declined 3 times and miraculously it went through after another attempt. Meanwhile I thought I purchased the car and subsequently made an unnecessary credit application. I'm furious, he basically sold the car to several people and went with the best and highest price tag.
This dealership is the epitome of shady car salesmanship. They claim to be these experts, yet the only thing they seem to be expert at is fraudulently double selling a car and using questionable sales tactics. Do not buy a car from them, they are not trustworthy or offer any form of transparent communication.
