When I took the car out they did a visual inspection above the wheels, but when I returned the car they checked under the car as well. WARNING WARNING WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this company is very very DODGY and DISHONEST. we took an SUV from them 2 months ago and when we return it, it was in an immaculate condition. We washed it even though we were not supposed to, filled the tank to the top even though it wasn't given to us like this. But since then we have been struggling to get our bond security back since then. They have been doing this for quite a while now mainly to overseas customer hoping they will forget about the money. We have check a few ABNs online as this company operate through many branches and some of them are inactive. Hello everyone! I wish there was an option to give negative rating to this one! I had visited Dream Drives, Melbourne in Jan 2016 around the time of Australian Open. We rented a car for chick they demanded security deposit of AUD2,500 in CASH!! Reason being they have seen fraud cases before. We trusted them and paid deposit in cash. After handing over the rented car to them they promised to transfer the deposit back to us within 2 weeks. Note: There was NO CASH return to us but for themselves they took cash! It has been more than 12 weeks and even after numerous follows ups over email, call, facebook we haven't got the security deposit back! They sent an overseas cheque once which costed us around AUD 40 to clear BUT IT BOUNCED due to insufficient funds!! The staff is insensitive to customer's request. There is no urgency at their side to resolve the issue. They continue to shamelessly make fake promises on email stating that they will be transferring the money immediately, today, tomorrow... And every time they keep asking for the account details which has been given to them 100 times over!! We are STILL waiting to get AUD2,500 back but one feels it is a lost cause! read more

Deposit Not Returned, Definitely not recommending this company to anyone. I hired a beautiful Porsche for the weekend as a surprise for my husband's 60th birthday. As I write this it has been 90 days since my deposit should of been back in my account. This is not some piddly amount I am talking about, it is $3500. I have made numerous phone calls and even had to put up with the person from accounts, Steven arguing with me and saying that I had only spoken to him twice.Steven assured me that the cash bond of $3500 that I paid could not be used as that would be illegal. I now only email as this way there is plenty of proof of the lies that they keep telling me. Originally I would have put up a great review as the car was sensational but after all the crap of trying to get my refund back, I would not recommend Dream Drives Melbourne to anyone. After returning to the showroom 90 days later, I was issued a cheque for $3750, being $3500 bond and also $250 compensation for the delay in returns. I was informed in writing that I would receive 12% compensation, $420. I expressed that the refund be paid in Cash or Transferred Funds, however was only presented with a cheque. I raised concerns immediately to the girl at reception that my preferred reimbursement would be via cash or transferred funds. AS I EXPECTED THE CHEQUE HAS BEEN DISHONOURED. After several attempts to have the $3500 repaid by Dream Drives Melbourne, I will now seek legal advice. We took the car back in the same condition as it left the showroom and their were no traffic infringement for the said weekend, so no excuse not to forward the funds straight back to me. I had the courtesy of paying for my car at the time of booking which was in early March, the car was used in the last weekend of May. I was told that my deposit would be refunded on Monday 29th May but as yet have not seen a cent. The service on hire was great, unfortunetely its let down with the return of deposite, after 4 weeks countless phone calls with them giving me the run around and emails un answered I finally had some friends confront them in the shop WOW recieved my first email from them aledging I have some type of infringement. Unfortunetelly they couldnt back this up with any evedance and told me "I had to prove I didnt." I still havnt recieved my deposite back and would like to let everybody know that the 7 to 10 working days to refund it is a lie. I cant believe a company with such a great product and facade can be so slimy and dishonest!
