This year's taxes had a glitch on my part with a late k1 for some unknown reason ( never had an issue like this in 35 years ) but Tim was absolutely fantastic and patient with me asking so many questions. I was concerned because it was a big change for me and dentists (me) are not always great with change. We are creatures of habit. Add to the fact that I'm officially retiring this year and I wanted to make sure my taxes were taken care of. Looking back , Tim had our backs the whole time and assured us he would get things filed once we got this k1 and that's EXACTLY what he and his team did for us. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. If you need a team that will get the job done , look no further. I look forward to a long relationship with him like I did with our last accounting team. Thank you guys. Look no further if you want a professional who gets the job done , just call Tim ! Wish I could have given more than 5 stars .

I've been a customer of M J Vandenbroucke's for years, and have always experienced excellent customer service. I had a relatively complex return this year and it was completed in just a couple days. As a consultant, I had income in multiple states, each of which required a separate return. Not only was the service quick, but the team at M J Vandenbroucke took care of all of the paperwork, and returned it to me with dummy-proof instructions on how to finish processing. I highly recommend M J Vandenbroucke to anyone, particularly those looking to take the stress out of tax season.

Navigating small business taxes in Chicago can be a headache, but John makes the entire process feel manageable and transparent. The Experience John is incredibly professional but also very personable. Unlike some of the larger, impersonal firms, he actually takes the time to listen to your specific financial situation. He's been in the neighborhood for a long time and clearly knows the ins and outs of both Illinois and federal tax laws. Why I Recommend Him: Responsiveness: He is great about returning calls and emails, even during the peak of tax season. You never feel like just another file on a desk. These people approved me for a loan had me DocuSign my contract one day, the next day they told me I had to verify my bank info by giving them my banks login credentials. After that humiliation ritual was completed I was then supposed to receive a last step call to go over loan repayment. Instead I received a text from Steve asking me if I had received the final repay call. I responded with a no to which he never responded . I then responded again with do I need to call? Still no response. So I called Steve and he immediately started telling me how he's sorry that he thinks "they walked" on the deal. Do not waste your time or energy with these people. They are inhumane and unprofessional. They go out of their way up until the 11th hour to humiliate you. Don't bother. I really don't know but something about the calling and asking for your username and password into your bank account just seems unethical and possible even illegal.

Excellent accounting and tax services!…read more I was skeptical at first since there was no reviews on Yelp for smarter tax and finance. But after the consultation with Ahsan, I was very pleased. Ahsan is a knowledgeable accountant and he helped us clean our previous year's books for our LLC (we sell dog products) and filed personal taxes for me and my wife as well as my mother. For our tax filings, he helped us navigate through various deductions for our business and personal taxes such as home office deduction and advised on the best approach. He even spotted a couple mistakes made in our previous year's taxes which we filed with another accountant. For the accounting, he reviewed and cleaned all of our transactions for previous year in quickbooks. He patiently answered my million questions and walked me through the details on what needed to be fixed. Among many things, our inventory system was a mess which made it very difficult to calculate cost of good sold. He presented different options and calculated our cost of good sold for the year. Above all, I liked how he was caring in his approach and ensured that I am comfortable with both the accounting and tax filings. He walked me through our LLC and personal tax filings (almost line by line) which non of my previous accountants did. I will continue to work Ahsan for our book keeping and future tax filings. I highly recommend smarter tax & finance.
