The sketches were done with simple costumes and lighting, yet the presentation was really well played out. We laughed our way through and even had moments of sad reflection that made you feel as if they knew exactly what we needed to see and hear in order to leave feeling a little lighter because someone else understood your pain. It was a cathartic experience and one that well rounded out our exciting adventure into Victoria. Don't be disappointed when you pull up and see the front entrance to the location. It doesn't carry curbside appeal, but trust me the act is worth seeing. We bought VIP ticket seats, which didn't prove to be much better than the regular. But we were lucky to have a comfy sofa to sit on.

The set pieces, the choreography and the talent of these young actors was great to see. They're obviously doing something right as the entire theatre was packed all the way to the back balcony. I've seen a few different productions at the McPherson over the years and have always been pleased with the productions. The theatre is clean and the seats are comfortable enough. There isn't much to say about this theatre besides go see a play, musical or whatever performance they're putting on! It's in a great location, just on the outside of China Town. Highly recommend you checking out a show.

The Roxy has also employed at least two employees for 10 years. Their popcorn is real, with real butter, and reasonably priced, and delicious. On Tuesdays, you can see a double feature for $2.50! It's a bit broke-down - some of the seats have seen better days, there's a stain/eggshell from some audience jackass that's been high on the wall for ages, and the bathrooms have a distinct camp-latrine smell, but if the Roxy changed much or got all fancy and expensive, I'd be heartbroken. It's a place to watch movies, for movie lovers, and it rules.

Just attended an impressive production of "It's A Wonderful Life" performed in the style of a radio…read moreshow, with actors playing multiple roles and a small team supporting them with expert organ music and sound effects. This created a performance-within-a-performance that was unique and fun for all. The actors were especially high quality, with my favorite being the radio show announcer, who himself performed several parts with crisp and distinctive voices. The theater itself is small and inviting, with a lounge offering light refreshments and wine before and between acts. Actors entered the crowd before and after the show to welcome people and thank them for coming, which I found especially charming and heartfelt. We recently moved to the area and will enjoy visiting them again.

They had a decent concession going with all the usual suspects. The staff were all very nice and friendly. They seemed to be music enthusiasts themselves, which was nice. Bathrooms are small and old. They need an update. The theatre itself has a lot of character but the floor is very uneven and at such a steep angle to get from the back rows to the front row that I don't see how it's up to code. It seems especially hazardous given the demographic is predominantly elderly.

The stage was cleverly decorated with driftwood from the local beaches and the setting is a private home in a rustic field. Daniel Mayes, who is an actor in the Ashland Shakespeare Festival was a thrill to watch. Also loved Sylvie Davidson who plays Arial and David Natale who is an amazing Caliban. This show runs until 8/12/18 and it is FREE! The founder of the company wants professional quality theater to be accessible to all but they really on donations to keep the show running. On average it costs $20 per seat. So be sure to donate at least that amount when you go. Trust me, you would be paying 5x that amount to see this quality of acting in a city theater.
