After multiple attempts to have them stop using them as advertisement they continue to do so. We engaged ESD Homes to do a significant renovation of our home, and have come to regret the moment we set eyes on Liz Davies. The project was riddled with numerous problems that resulted in damage to our personal property and multiple amateur results due to lack of basic oversight. To date, Liz Davies has yet to address major problems with the project. If you are considering ESD Homes and/or Liz Davies to do work for you, run in the other direction.
Response from the owner in the last week
Hi Rodrigo. We understand you are angry that work did not continue at your home. Please be truthful about your project.
**Liz Davies you were 9 months delayed on our 6 months project and still to this date there are MAJOR issues you said you addressed but they were never; Who's is the one that needs to be truthful?
1. The contract we had for your home is in legal breach and therefore ESD Homes was forced to place a lien on your home to collect a very large sum of monies due.
**Liz Davies, we offered to place those $9,000 something you are claiming on that frivolous lien on an escrow account to be released once you have addressed ALL the issues that you are responsible for fixing, like bathroom water leaks, but according to your attorney, you refused to.
2. We worked with you for months; waiting for you and your partner to earn enough money to pay for what was already installed. You simply spent more money than you could afford and encouraged our company and it's subcontractors to continue working with empty promises of payment.
**Liz Davies you estimated the project at $200,000 and you were paid $474,000 and you never delivered in the promise of excellence and quality. Some of the overages were due to our selections, but much of it was also due to your inability to estimate costs properly. Yes, we had a problem paying for some of the charges, but this was due to the fact that despite our efforts to work with you for months to determine how much more it was going to take to complete the project, your estimates were always wrong. Yes, we had difficulty coming up with cash for invoices that exceeded your estimates. So what is your point here?
3. The photos you share of a project (while under construction) are not examples of what your home looks like today. A Google Search on Rodrigo Padilla will show videos and photos of his lovely home.
**Liz Davies those pictures are proof of your lack of management and craftsmanship. The pictures are also evidence of your finished product. Today yes, the house might look better and cleaner because we have been fixing little by little the mess you left. Also the design its attractive because you had nothing to do with it; it's our design.
4. Any photos we own were taken legally and remain property of ESD Homes.
**Liz Davies, You had no permission to take any pictures while you were here. That was never discussed. What we discussed was when you submitted pictures, without our consent, of our bathroom to a magazine contest and I objected.
5. We did not stop work for any other reason than payments now past due in excess of SIX months
** Liz Davies, we didn't pay you your last invoice because there were multiple items on the punch list that you marked as complete that were, in fact, not complete. You also made zero progress in addressing the critical issues (e.g. master bathroom flooring, master bedroom lighting) that you stated would be addressed. So yes, we withheld payment because you were not doing the work you stated you would do or were claiming you had done. We told your attorney we were happy to pay for work done and would place the money in an escrow account to move forward, but you decided to put a lien on our home. Well done Liz Davies
