To buy the tickets you have a machine but it's with coins only, that could be uncomfortable. Para bajar decidimos tomar el funicular. Es muy lindo también, les recomiendo hacer una ida caminando y la otra en funicular y así tenes ambas experiencias! Para comprar los tickets tenes la maquina pero solo es con monedas, eso puede ser incomodo.

There are three common ways how to get to Petrin park located on the top of Petrin hill: on foot from tram stop Pohoralec (approx. 10 minute walk to Petrin Tower), on foot from river Vltava past Ujezd tram stop walking up the hill takes at least 20 minutes. Or take the funicular located next to tram stop Ujezd. During mean times it departs every 10 minutes and it takes up to 5 minutes to get up but be aware of ques during tourist season when you may not get into first departing cab. Since the funicular is part of Prague public transport system you can use your already bought unmarked or marked valid tickets or buy there new ones that will be valid in other means of transport too. Its good way how to cut your time needed to get up, to see Prague Castle or to experience something a bit different in moving city.

Metro Malostranská is situated next to the gardens of Wallenstein Palace. It is on Line A only…read more In terms of overall decor and look of the station, this is one of my favourite stations on the network that I visited during my time in Prague. I like the green, silver and bronze on the platform, and the statue right by the escalators to get in and out of the station made it feel very grand. Due to the river being close by, there is only one entrance, the big advantage of this is it's harder to get lost coming out of the station, if you or a friend heads out the wrong exit. The station may also be useful for those visiting Prague Castle, as it is only 500 meters away, although that route did involve a large number of steps so I wouldn't recommend it. PRO TIP: Remember the Prague Metro REQUIRES a ticket but lacks a ticket gate, remember to purchase and validate your ticket from the machines by the entrance or risk a large fine.

For me Malostranska is where its at. There is a nice restaurant, its dry, safe and clean and as European metro's go that is great. The tram stops directly outside it. If you time it right you can be in the airport in about 30-40 minutes from here for only 32 kn. The ticket booth is just before the barriers. You must purchase your ticket from the mahine on the wall and its in several languages. The booth is manned sometimes but you cannot purchase tickets from here, he will give you advise if you need

Lítačka - zákaznické centrum

Lítačka - zákaznické centrum

I stopped in at this service location to apply for my Lítačka card/pass. If you live in Prague, or…read morewill be here for an extended time, the Lítačka card is the transportation pass that saves you from having to buy individual tickets; and it works for the trams, trains, buses, and metros. You may apply for the card online and wait for it to come in the mail, or you may go to this "zákaznické centrum" (customer service center) to apply for and pick up your pass right away. For your first card, there is a 50 CZK fee (online) versus 200 CZK fee (in person) - so roughly about $2.50 USD versus about $10 USD. To note: lost/damaged cards incur the same fees, but renewing an expired card costs nothing if you do it online, and 100 CZK if you renew at this center. Also to note: take your passport and a European-sized passport photo with you. They return the photo; it is just scanned for your Lítačka card ID. So I went in on Friday afternoon, took a number, and waited my turn. There wasn't a lot of people and service was prompt! From the time they called my number, I handed over my passport and photo, and got my card - MAYBE five minutes! I mean like SUPER FAST! Once they issue the card, you then have to fill the card, either next door or at any of the metro stations ticket office. You can do monthly (550CZK/roughly $25USD), 5-month, or yearly top ups. Needless to say, the longer time-frame is more cost-efficient. Ok last thing from me about why to get the card - 1) You can use it as a library card as well and 2) You get discounts on at least 30 sights/attractions around Prague! More info here - https://www.litacka.cz/slevy. I'm definitely going back here if I have to renew my card. This one is valid for four years!
