To buy the tickets you have a machine but it's with coins only, that could be uncomfortable. Para bajar decidimos tomar el funicular. Es muy lindo también, les recomiendo hacer una ida caminando y la otra en funicular y así tenes ambas experiencias! Para comprar los tickets tenes la maquina pero solo es con monedas, eso puede ser incomodo.

There are three common ways how to get to Petrin park located on the top of Petrin hill: on foot from tram stop Pohoralec (approx. 10 minute walk to Petrin Tower), on foot from river Vltava past Ujezd tram stop walking up the hill takes at least 20 minutes. Or take the funicular located next to tram stop Ujezd. During mean times it departs every 10 minutes and it takes up to 5 minutes to get up but be aware of ques during tourist season when you may not get into first departing cab. Since the funicular is part of Prague public transport system you can use your already bought unmarked or marked valid tickets or buy there new ones that will be valid in other means of transport too. Its good way how to cut your time needed to get up, to see Prague Castle or to experience something a bit different in moving city.

I like the green, silver and bronze on the platform, and the statue right by the escalators to get in and out of the station made it feel very grand. Due to the river being close by, there is only one entrance, the big advantage of this is it's harder to get lost coming out of the station, if you or a friend heads out the wrong exit. The station may also be useful for those visiting Prague Castle, as it is only 500 meters away, although that route did involve a large number of steps so I wouldn't recommend it. PRO TIP: Remember the Prague Metro REQUIRES a ticket but lacks a ticket gate, remember to purchase and validate your ticket from the machines by the entrance or risk a large fine.

For me Malostranska is where its at. There is a nice restaurant, its dry, safe and clean and as European metro's go that is great. The tram stops directly outside it. If you time it right you can be in the airport in about 30-40 minutes from here for only 32 kn. The ticket booth is just before the barriers. You must purchase your ticket from the mahine on the wall and its in several languages. The booth is manned sometimes but you cannot purchase tickets from here, he will give you advise if you need

We purchased in the same hour from our hotel in the same hour it was departing. So we rushed to the train station, waiting in line to check in and get our boarding tickets. Once on the train we realized our tickets have no assigned seats and if we get lucky we can find an empty seat. I gave this a 3 Yelp stars because the website did not state no seating, at the train or on the train there were no attendants anywhere to be found to answer any questions. On a positive notes, train ride is smooth, monitors to display the locations, it is on time.

And instead, travel by bus instead - much less expensive, much more reliable, flexible, clean, comfortable - . I am sorry to say that the Czech Railways demonstrates that this country has not succeeded in its integration to the EU, and they are far, very far away from even the elementary North-American standards. It is no wonder that their trains are largely empty. The locals have understood the problem long ago. And no sane person who is a visitor and who tries them once, will ever use them again. Go with the buses ! (Which are not perfect, indeed, but they are much better that this Railways fiasco... and if you are traveling as a group of 3 people or more, better yet, go with Uber!
