For a train station, it's ok. They always freak me out. You have random people loitering around trying to talk to you at times though.

The Windy City…read more.. I've always wanted to visit Chicago and have purposely made a stop over here on my way to Boston in the past and was very impressed of not just how large but nice and clean it was though since it was short I didn't get to see much of it but did get to enjoy a hot dog and deep dish pizza here which yes you can find. From what I understand it's up there being the largest airport in the US and from my arrival believe that as the taxiing to the gate was quite longer than I'm used to but no waiting very efficient and great service taking care of our flight. What was nice is that they have a food court as well not very large but big enough to have a few various establishment along with various other shops and eateries just about everywhere including vending machines for popcorn and boba tea. Some of the signs though I did have a hard time navigating around though that could just be me as I was looking for a lounge only to have passed right by it lol but it is a very crowded airport and happy that we got here early enough to enjoy what it has to offer as the city of Chicago really was a fabulous place to visit and am so happy to check it off my list...but will be back if given the opportunity. Thank you!

I used to fly to Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and MDW (Midway) regularly many years…read moreago. This past year, I've had three layovers at ORD since the last time I was here over 10 years ago. My last layover a couple weeks ago was probably the worst experience I've had at any airport. With ORD delaying my first two layovers this year, I had the unfortunate experience of having a cancellation. What was supposed to be a 2-hour layover turned into 3 delays, 2 gate changes, and eventually a cancellation due to severe weather. In total, I was at ORD for 25 hours! (I did rebook for the next day flight - there was only 1 flight a day to my final destination so my only option was the next day same time or a different airport with extra layovers). I was already sleepless so I was unsure how I was going to survive a night at the airport. Talk about high anxiety. With other passengers, we found a cozy area in Terminal B (near Gate B18) where they had little pods to sleep in. I "camped" there for the night but had very little sleep. At one point, one of the ORD employees came by and handed all of us campers a blanket. I thought that was very kind especially in the situation we were in. I really appreciate this gesture. I did somehow get about 2-3 hours of on-and-off "sleep". Thank goodness my carryon has extra clean clothes and stuff to keep me fresh and clean. I made the most of my situation by catching up on work, walking around, and whatever activity to keep me busy and make time move faster. I found a spa near Gate B12 where I got myself a much-needed massage. It was great! Overall, I will most likely avoid any future layover at ORD. However, I'm glad they have staff that still cared for us weary travelers by providing us a blanket. Glad I was able to get on my rebooked flight with just a small 20-minute delay. Whew!

Its not like there are always a million cabs running around at 4:30am on a Tuesday. I travel for work weekly, and have been burned in the past by both flash and yellow cab. These guys are always there when they promise to be and have never let me down. They run a professional operation, have nice sedans, and don't bitch when you pull out that Visa. Its a bit on the pricey side (49 dollars from Lakeview to O'hare plus tip), but the higher price is well worth knowing the fact that your ride to the airport will be there.

You can get sleek and personalized service for not a lot of money. My first time using this service was for a business trip this summer that was taking me out of town for about 5 weeks. I had a few bags, so instead of stumbling my way to the train station and through O'hare airport, I originally looked online for a basic yellow cab service that I could call and reserve a pickup to get me to the airport. Online estimates were close to $40 from my home. Browsing through a general list of companies, I ran across Chicago Chauffeurs Limousine, with an advertised special of $49 to the airport from a variety of Chicagoland areas. Clicked on the website, called the number listed, and a representative told me that a black Cadillac sedan would be @ my home when I requested. The sedan was actually 15 mins early in picking me up. The driver was very clean cut and professionally dressed. He took my bags and carefully placed them in the huge trunk. He opened and closed the back door for me once I got in. The cars ride very smooth and the driver (Sam) was super friendly. I called the company the night before I returned to Chicago, and they told me to call them once I arrive at the airport, and they'd be there within 10 mins to pick me up. Once again, they did not disappoint; I called them while retrieving my luggage, the rep told me what exit to meet my driver at, and gave me the license plates of the sedan that would be picking me up. I walked out the designated exit and within 5 mins, the car pulled up. It was great. It's been $49 each time I've used the company. I don't know if that's actually a promotional price or just the regular price. But I think it's worth it. The only thing is that if you use a credit card, the driver doesn't have a machine to swipe it through; he has to make a carbon copy of your CC number. It's just a little old school to me. Besides that, the company is ideal for home to airport service.
