I brought my husband in because I thought he might be having a heart attack. His blood pressure was elevated, he was dizzy and sweating and nauseated. We got in right away. My complaint was about a male nurse who came in and hooked a urinal on the side of the bed and asked my husband, "you got this?" and walked away. My husband has had a stroke and has no control over his left hand and very little over his left leg. I felt the nurse was lazy and did not want to assist my husband. I had to ask him to come back in an assist my husband, as I was unable to do it myself. (Another nurse escorted my husband to the restroom across the hall earlier).
My chief complaint about this nurse is that he NEVER washed his hands nor did he put on any gloves when entering the room, even after assisting my husband with the urinal. Furthermore, he didn't put on any gloves when he removed my husband's IV at discharge. I believe this nurse is a risk for Methodist Hospital Boerne and should be disciplined. I plan on filing a complaint with Methodist. Boerne was closer and I thought my husband was having a heart attack and that's why we went there. The next time if I think it is very serious I will call an ambulance. If it is less serious, I will drive to Methodist in Stone Oak but we will not be back to the Boerne Methodist facility. read more
