All of this proved true and resulted in not one but two evenings to enable enjoying more of the menu! Thr tapas were so amazingly delicious and flavorful, sensory rich , fresh, creatively presented, savory and satisfying! The flamingo chorizo was fun and tasty, the fried eggplant and molasses was so so good! Thr goat cheese with walnuts and jam, creamy and nutty like some sort of dessert. A pitcher of Sangria was had the deck second visit after enjoying a glass the first time and the pitcher gave 4 plus glasses of tasting and fresh red wine and fruit. flavor that is a local specialty. The white sardines are so light and wonderful, not as rich as the ones in the US. The ambience is very charming, authentic and feels very local with many Spaniards dining here and the staff are all friendly, helpful and patient ! Service was overall excellent! The seating is close and intimate inside and outside a bit more open and cafe like. The facilities an bathroom are all clean and well kept despite the obvious age of the bldg. It's on a corner across from a music club called Fitzgerald's and they had Irish music for St Patrick's Day! Both dining experiences were excellent and it's the most tapas I've ever ordered and been able to eat at a single meal time ever, because it was so damn good! The food taste is Michelin level but has a neighborhood charm and locals feel to it! A must do for anyone in Nerja or traveling through Andulusia!

Sangria is also good. The cocinero made us a special plate of sautéed mushrooms with garlic and manazanillo and they were out of this world. Lots of locals here for the football match on the tele - a great place for a drink and food.

Of course all their offerings were as organic, whole food, locally-sourced, unprocessed, homemade, etc. as possible. Every option was truly a thoughtful and loving option for tasty sustenance. I had chicken schwarma, my son had a chicken skewer, and my husband had the Menu Degustación. All were perfectly prepared and packed with flavors. Salad veggies were super fresh as were the grilled veggies in with our meats. Meats were all beautifully cooked, seasoned, seared or charred. My husband's Gazpacho de Tomate was a nice texture full tomato flavor with layered spices and quality olive oil. He then had couscous and chicken were done perfectly to complement one another in a delicious garlic sauce. Everything was simplistic yet demonstrated a sophisticated understanding of culinary skill, flavor balancing, and high standards for ingredients. Desserts were all homemade. We had to take them to go in order to make it to our hotel before too late that night, so apologies for the takeout container in my photo. My husband had Tarta de Dátiles y Canela which he loved; local dates rendered in a perfect European balance of sweetness and savoriness. My son had the tarta de queso (done differently in Spain--but like all their food--better!) and it too was delicious. Spanish "Tarta de queso" is like cheesecake but goopier, kind of like a crème brûlée mixed with clotted cream (English), mixed with cheesecake.
