Oooof! The highlight of our time in Cadiz! We would have spent all afternoon here enjoying the food…read moreand wine if we didn't have to rush out to catch our ship. They have the most delicious seafood soup that you'll ever try, and their squid-ink rice is on another level. It was a lot of us, so we tried a little bit of everything and I can honestly say that every item was delectable. You can't go wrong. Will definitely visit next time we find ourselves in that neck of the woods!

We came here twice during our recent visit to Cádiz... first at the suggestion of our Air BnB host,…read moreand second, because the first time was JUST SO GOOD! I agree with several of the other reviewers that getting tapas at the bar is the way to go here - and even if you want a full-blown meal, getting it at the bar will save considerable Euros from your bill, and service is a lot quicker. That said, this place is VERY popular among the locals, and so you may have to wait awhile if you go during the lunch rush-hour of 2 - 3 pm. We'd been told that this place is known for its tuna dishes, and in all honesty, that's a good thing to be known for in this end of Spain. They do it proud! They use sushi-grade tuna and will serve it as rare as you like (Tuna Tartare) to fully cooked. IMHO, their tuna is better on the rare side. The other meals we had there (my wife's favorite goat-cheese salad, and a lasagna de ternera) were also quite good, but - when a restaurant in tuna country is known for its tuna, order the tuna! Buen provecho!

The beer is very good with cheaper price than in big cities. The fried fish is their specialty in Cadiz, we had two plates with different seafood, calamari, prawns, three different kinds of fish, they are good but not great! We love the squid salad! The service is fair, a bit slow because of the crowds!

This spot. Wooheee…read more We actually learned about it from Lonely Planet, Frommer's or some travel book and all the other tourist's know about is well after seeing the lines for to-go. However, I did spy some local old men trying to enjoy their lunch, as well and they were all drinking a beer and eatin' paella. One side is the tavern, with outside seating and the other side is to go fried fish in a paper cone. The to-go side was PACKED, so we snagged a spot at the bar on the other side and quickly ordered up 4 beers, a tapa size of the paella and a fried fish platter for 2. The paella was delicious and the fried fish platter was huge, with chunks of fried fish, whole fish, calamares, cod croquettes and more. I'm not the most adventurous fish eater, and I went for it. Not fancy at all, but just super fresh seafood, breaded and deep fried. Not a ton of flavor in the breading, but all good. All that food for about $20 USD. Not too shabby.
